x_paden_xJurassic Park ForumWhy no fences in TLW?

Isla Sorna is VERY large... Twice the Size of Nublar, If not more. We only see Two Quarters of Sorna within the two movies... And that's not even a good guess.

Sorna was a reasearch/breeding station, Designed to breed Dinosaurs for the park at a large level. Originally, They held most of the Dinosaurs within large paddocks on the Island (This evidence being the Cages in the Center in JP3). For monitoring purposes.

But closer to the events of 1993 on Nublar; In efforts to Breed them faster and not have to take care of them for long periods, They began Tagging and releasing into the wild while they were still juvenile. This seemed to work, As the island was still in operation some time after Jurassic Park fell.

It's assumed that That was somewhere inbetween TLW and JP, When ingen had to Liquidate some assests. Theres also a chance that they evacuated when the storm hit in '93, leaving it perhaps with a few staff or none at all. The reason I say a Few, Is because of the Bodies left behind.

After the Island was evacuated, It's assumed many of the Assest escaped their enclosures/paddocks. A team of Special Operations from the US was sent to control this problem, But they were all killed off, Wether by dinosaurs, Or eachother.

Which brings us to TLW. most of the movie takes place on one side of the island, Where JP3 Takes place on the other side.

Now, to your Dinosaur question.

The spino, Might've been a whole lot more Younger during TLW, It most likely tried to hide or such to avoid predators. Theres also a Chance it was one of the eggs left/layed prior to Evacuation. The real truth is, The writers thought it'd be a Fantastic Idea, something to draw in crowds. As it's said in the new trailer "Corperate noticed that whenever we introduced a new Dinosaur, Park attendance grew," They're applying that but to theaters. (Of course, they did that exactly again with I-rex, But we'll ignore that unitl the movie premieres.)

Again, Two different sides of the islands, That's why there's so many different things. Plus, The islands are based off of Hawaii and Costa Rica, So, with that in mind; There was no grasslands (Most likely, Unless it's in the 1/3 we haven't seen yet), There was mostly just large Clearings.

Hope I helped you out some,

-Paden

Not going to give my real name.

Favorite dino is T. Rex with Utahraptor a close second.

JP1 is not only the greatest JP movie but the greatest movie ever in my opinion.

Something interesting about myself?  I like science and art.  Also I am an enemy of Trevorrow and Jurassic World.  Yes you heard me and enemy!!!  I will be boycotting it at the theaters and hope it flops.  I could rant on and on about the problems I foresee with this movie, but mostly I am extrememly disappointed with the design of the dinos.  They fall way short of the potential that feature film dinos should have at this point in the franchise.  But this is for another topic.

I word llike  Indominus Rex to win.plus with all it's power, strength and abalaties it should win.it just makes scince.but with all the trex fans that were pissed off in JP 3,it probably won't happen, man trex has won in so many movies over the years and Indominus just coming in to the picture it's just unfair for Indominus that just because of pissey trex fans (if your a tree fan I'm not point this opinion on you)Indominus is going to lose.

First I want to say that the CGI looks great in this clip. Nothing looked fake here. Nice job.

Second, this clip gave me goosebumps because the score and shots reminded me exactly of the first Jurassic Park.

I'm pretty happy now.

greatestflickeverJP1Jurassic World NewsComparing Velociraptors from Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3 and Jurassic World

These Trevorrow raptors suck Argentinousaurs droppings big time.  I'm very dissappointed the filmakers did not go with the more bird-like versions from JP3.  Instead, the raptors look more like cold-blooded, hunch-backed, lizards as do many of the JW "dinos."  The heads of the raptors somewhat resemble that of a snake of some kind.  My thoughts for an explanation are for no other reason that this image of dinos as lumbering swamp lizards suits Trevorrows ignorant, antiquated, childhood fantasy of how dinos are supposed to look.  He has declared war on the trend previous JP films established as portraying dinos are more bird-like.  He should go paint his stupid image of dinos on cave walls someplace hopefully where no one will ever see them again.  He should be banned from ever making any more dinosaur movies.

I'm one of the biggest JP fans around and I'm boycotting this stupid movie.  I won't be taking my kids, who love dinosaurs and previous JP films, to go see them either.  I hope JW flops.

For those wondering, most existent fossilized skin impressions from dinosaurs indicate scaly hide. Most scientists also agree that genetically, most if not all dinosaurs had the trait that could allow the sprouting of filaments, quills and even feathers. But since most of the skin impressions actually found disagree with that, it is unlikely that many (if any) species actually sprouted full blown feathers (despite them being genetically predisposed to the ability).

Ntwadumela - If you want them to make a realistic dinosaur movie, here it is: Bones Only. Because that is all that is truly knowable.

I'm really tired of armchair dinosaur enthusiasts who read 1 article (instead of...all of them) and seem to be under the impression that it is, "now well known that dinosaurs had feathers."

No. That is not "well known" at all. It is, in fact, a theory, with very dismal evidence to support it. There is as much evidence to support the idea that they did NOT have feathers.

For how much dinosaurs resembled avians, in modern times it is trendy to ignore how much they still share traits with reptiles. Dinosaurs were not mammilian birds. They are very, very old acenstors to mammilian birds, and also some modern day reptiles.

Unfortunately for the scientific community, there are many paleontologists who take the tiniest hint of a possibility, and turn it into a "theory"...which are often disingenuously presented as "almost fact". Since nothing can ever truly BE FACT when it comes to dinosaurs...a theory that gets you a TV spot is as good as it gets.

I'm not saying no dinosaurs had any feathers. I'm saying its impossible to know if they did or did not, and what little evidence exists indicates that they probably did not.

HIMYNAMEISJAMES - It has been widely discussed that the very existence of a Restricted area (the entire north hemisphere of the island) is due to the proliferation of wild velociraptors. There have also been hints that dilophosaurus still roam free there as well.

Undoubtedly the answer is yes. Whether we will see those wild velociraptors interact with Pratt's raptor pack...remains to be seen. It would certainly be cool though. It would also be far more believable if it were JW & JP raptors communicating with each other...as opposed to Indominus and JW Raptors.

Lol, tell me that doesn't look like Lake Placid 3.

I'd still see it...

Is there a chance that the batch of raptor eggs from the visitor centre in the first film survive and the offspring remain in the restricted area? The "trained" raptors could possibly come into contact, making communication between them more likely than between a different dinosaur species. If the Rex could survive from the first film, it's highly possible that raptors could as well

@Silver_Falcon

Good I'm not the only one who noticed...

By the way...

Does anyone else thing that I-Rex's Jaw line looks too... Imperfect? I mean, It looks more like it's from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs rather then a JP film. It just... Doesn't seem right... At all...

Well, regarding the communication, among Raptors, for sure they can communicate. As for I-Rex and the Pterosaurs, I-Rex roars, Pterosaurs get scared, fly through hole created by helicopter and see people has potential meals. It's not I-Rex telling them go and kill people.

Peter ZanettiJurassic World ForumThey're Communicating Theory

Some of you are way over thinking it.

You see Indominus roar at Pteranodons who looked scared to death, and you conclude "oh they must talking"......?!?

This film is not wildly crazy or edgy. It's a sensible JP film made by someone who understands what a JP film should be.

Don't read too much into "They're communicating". It makes sense, and will be totally believable within the context of the film.

BrimeJurassic World ForumThey're Communicating Theory

The Pteradons are hybrids as well. Thats why they can communicate. Thinking they might have used the same filler animal in both the Pteradons and I-Rex. The new game shows hybird Pteradons thats where I am getting this theory from...

I was also thinking it was the Raptors.

I'm not exactly sure what's rumored and what's confirmed but I've heard that the old Jurassic Park is sealed off and somehow some raptors are on the outside and have reproduced so basically there's some Raptors outside of the Park so it could be those, idk that's something I've heard.

Can't wait to see what happens! :)

Based on the dinosaurs profiles, the ones we can see in the film are: T. rex, raptors, Apatosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Gallimimus, I. rex, the two pterosaurs and the Mosasaurus, with the possibility of sewing the Dilophosaurus.  I was hoping to see Pachycephalosaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, Baryonyx and Microceratus but based on the schematics I don't think they will be feature in the film.

NtwadumelaJurassic World NewsComparing Velociraptors from Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3 and Jurassic World

I believe the majority of JP fans overthink the raptor's differences from each films too much. There's no "subspecies" like sornaensins or nublarensis, the real reason why the raptors change this much is beacause the director wants. Simple. In this new film not only the raptors design changes, pteranodons, stegosaurus, triceratops and even t. rex aswell.

Personally, I don't like this changes, if they wanted too change this much, a sequel is not a good idea, they should reboot the franshise and portrait the dinosaurs more reallistic (yes, I'm talking about feathers, but not only that).

But keeping on topic, the raptors. My favorites are the Lost World's raptors. They look very real, in both looks and behaviour. And we can see differences between males and females like Aphadino65 mentioned. Based on the trailers, Jurassic World's raptors are my least favorite from all films.
