What I still don't understand is the feathers thing still isn't proven for many animals, especially large theropods such as Tyrannosaurus. There's even as much evidence for scales for T. Rex as there is feathers. Even Utahraptor (basically the JP raptors) don't have feather evidence. So technically, the movie is still basically accurate with the exception of wrist pronation and very mild skull structure stuff. JP and JW did well, and only bandwagon paleontologists are criticising it.
These are judgemental assholes, thinking, just because a movie where the dinosaurs are innacurate, it's a dumb movie.
Compare JW with other movies, like for example, Avngers, or any other sci-fi flic for that matter, JW would be an documentary.
Colin has already stated that this a movie witch is inacurate, they know that it is. And exacty like you're saying, the most audience will be normal people, wanting to see a new blockbuster movie at the local cinema, and they will then start complaining about it not paying respect to the first movie.
BTW they've also could have removed the feathers by completing the DNA cells with reptiles and amphibians.
These people won't get anywhere in life, thinking like that is called overthinking, and still, this is an entertainment flic. I hope nobody listens to these idiots. If I had them right here I would slam their face into the wall til they'll say that they're sorry.
That kick, though, from the I-Rex. Might as well be a DLC character to the FIFA games.
Gotta wait and see these scenes play out, but the gyrophere valley looks almost too perfect. Flat, unblemished grass with Apatosaurs, Stegosaurs, Triceratops, and Parasaurs all in the same shot.
I get that it is supposed to be the "wonder" shot...it embodies the realization of the dream. I just hope it looks realistic in the full scene(s).
1. The Raptor enclosure is not for public display, and is on the border of the island (you can see in the trailer that it is literally feet from the precipitous cliffs)
2. The Restricted Area appears to be entirely fenced off from the rest of the island. Wild Velociraptors live there.
124 minutes with credits, which means the film's runtime before fade-to-black is indeed about 117-118 minutes.
That is a solid run time.
Oh hello Apatosaurus on the left, Triceratops on the right. Looks like a safe ride.
We're not so starved for information that we can't wait until a real link surfaces. No need to post video of cell phone recordings of TV screens.
TV Spot #6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTQaUVtTBnM
Spots 5 and 6 are out now too. Each with a little new footage.
Wow! The I-Rex is so strong it can break through the Aviary, and kicked that Gyrosphere, and I agree it would be nice if they put her in FIFA HAHAHA!!
Nice job.
Kinda sad to see Rexy die in this depiction purely because of childhood memories.
Nice job still, looking forward to seeing more from you.
I think the reason for the absence of the raptor paddock from the map, is that the map is for the visitors, and raptors are not to be viewed by visitors, because they are still too dangerous for that (even with Owen's training). The evidence for this is on the Velociraptor page on the site: "Always on the hunt, they are not yet trained for public display."
Also I think I read somewhere that Owen's little operation is on one of sides of the island and is separete stuff from the park, it's Owen's own research on the raptors.
In addition, this article mentions, that the 'Restricted Area' is a completely fenced off area that does have rouge dinosaurs, wich have tracking implants like their brethren in the park, but unlike the park, there aren't additional security (cameras, motion sensors) in that area.
The Restricted Sector is used a lot for testing, But as said Some of the feral dinosaurs still roam around there. As do a Bunch of Herbivores and the like. (All carnivores moved to paddocks for better containment)
With that in mind, This extra space is kinda the parks dirty little secret. No one is allowed into it, I believe this is where Dr.Wu's secret lab is kept, and where they do a lot of... Well, Not so visitor friendly operations. Keeping in mind that there is a LOT of infastructure in the restricted sector left after the park was abandoned (Like the Harbour, Thermal Plant, ETC).
I'd also imagine this isn't like "No one go into this area" Restricted, But Like, Park Operations and Staff, restricted. Again, Allowing them free reign to test and such.
It's also believed that I-rex's Paddock is enclosed in this area.
No, it's not in the restricted area, or else how would anyone be able to access the facility, like Owen? And how would anyone (including the raptors) be safe from any of the feral dinosaurs if it was in the restricted area?
I remember hearing something in a recent interview about JW that the raptor's training facility is close to the border, but not in it.
very good! good job!
@Lord Vader-
*Laughs hysterically at the truthfulness
Love the footage of the raptors and the new guy, especially with Echo sticking her nose through the bars to get at him.
I am aware of tha. It wasn't cutting to the degree Yang has, but it's not quite to bone crusher of T-Rex. It's more like 70/30 (70 being crusher and 30 being cutter). It's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it isn't the dullest either.
Every piece of new footage brings me closer to a massive nergasm...
If you go to the website thats mentioned in the video, http://www.capturethecan.com/, theres a competition you can enter where you can go to a dinosaur dig in Wyoming, do white water rafting and other things. I can't enter because I'm in the uk and this competition is only for the US. You have to be 13+ to enter. If any of you win please post a discussion about it.
the run time has now officially been revealed by the director to be 124 minutes. i feel like that is a pretty solid run time. its only just barely shorter than the first two films. somehow the 117 just felt really short to me (not nearly as short as jp3, but not what i would have hoped). 124 feels right. i think it will be more balanced than the lost world also.
yes read about this. i am glad to see its 124 and not 117. right around the length of the first 2. much better than the 94 minutes we got with jp3!
^Hm. Two and a half hours seemed a bit long, but almost two hours is pretty good.
Yeah I can see while u4 disappointed! 150 mins would be epically awesome !
BUT if u look at the pacing of the original at 124 mins, everyone loved the pacing,, character development and u were always on the edge of ur seat!
With a longer running timeu risk losing interest as the scenes r too long, too much dialogue and not enough action. Despite personally that being what I love about the first two that the third didn't (dialogue!
Also its only JP fans that would love longer cos we've waited 14 bloody years! I could watch itbfor 4 hours but there are ppl out there who generally couldn't give a shit even if there was another movie ! So if u take that into consideration the timings probably suitable :-P
Actually 124 minutes including credits, according to Colin Trevorow's latest Tweet. But I like this runtime gives a lot of time for everything to unfold.
Yeah, I don't understand the disappointment. It's longer than JP3. I mention the comparisons of all three previous JP films in this new article I just posted. The difference really isn't that big.
It was mostly for crushing rathe then cutting. Yang had FAR superior dentition then tarbo for cutting and tearing flesh.
*reads 401's last remark*
*glares angrily at JP3, who's run time was something like 90 minutes*
50/50 though I am leaning a tad in Tabo's favour.
Sure, it wasn't as agile, but it was close to Yang in that sense. Tarbo's bite wasn't bone crushing to the degree of T-Rex's, but it was powerful. Tarbo's bite was a combination of bone crushing and cutting.
I think 2 hours is perfect, so to speak.
Yesterday I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes which (without credits) fell below just 2 hours, and the movie was still extremely good, even afetr seeing 3 times prior.
THe first movie is BARELY 2 hours without credits, and movies like Transformers are rather boring and too long. The recent Avengers movie could have been shorter.
Unless the Run Time is below 100 minutes, I don't think it should be taken too seriously.
Can't tell if I want to play it on my Wii U or in 3D on my 3DS... Either way I'm gonna have lots of fun!!
>:D
2 hours ain't too shabby. Maybe 15 minutes shorter than the original, so not bad.
Eh. As long as they maintain the action an don't rush it, it's fine.
Well then. This was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.
I'm so exited to play this on my 3DS
I used to play the Star Wars LEGO games and enjoyed them quite a bit when I was younger. I'm sure this one will be the best LEGO game yet.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing! I went an embedded the video for you though so it's easier for people to view.
Nice to see some new footage there showing the Pteranodons breaking free!
