I agree with you! I loved Jurassic Park when it came out. I was only 6 years old, and didn't get scared at all. When The Lost World came, I didn't get scared either, but I found it much more exciting. The action scenes were much more tense. For me, the best scene of the entire trilogy was the trailer scene. Jesus Christ, that was awesome! One of the best action scenes of history! I like The Lost World a little more than the first Jurassic Park, and Jurassic park 3 a lot less than these two others. I haven't seen Jurassic World yet, but I'll see it tomorrow and I really hope to see the T.Rex more. One of the reasons I found the third movie bad was the fact that the T.Rex gets killed right after we get to see him. How could they just kill the main star of Jurassic Park and The Lost World? If the T.Rex doesn't get the appropriate attention on the fourth movie, I'll certainly not enjoy it as much as the first and the second.
In my opinion:
JURASSIC PARK - A theme park. Death scenes, tension, danger, but it's obviously more suitable for children.
THE LOST WORLD - Forget the theme park. Let's get wild instead! More blood, more tension, more action. Much marker. And... TWO T.REXES! That's awesome!
JURASSIC PARK III - T.Rex gets killed at the very beginning and we have a new dinosaur instead. The movie is too short for someone to be even able to evaluate it.
I hope JURASSIC WORLD gives T.Rex the spotlight again!
I wouldn't say Easter Egg; more so parallel scene.
There are many scenes in Jurassic World that rip-off and/or are HEAVILY inspired by the original movie.
@DINOSTEVE93
Another "fluffening" supporter I see...sigh
I agree Chris Pratt. Godzilla is too big to be stopped by any of them.
@JPCerato, I want the I. Rex Breakout more than all the other LEGO JW sets. I don't think i have enough in Target gift cards, so I'm still saving up.
As of now, I have five JW Dairy Queen cups (the Jurassic Smash blizzard isn't anything special) and both Barbasol cans.
I heard SH MonsterArts might do Jurassic World, so I'll save up for those. I'm not too impressed with the toy line, but I might pick up a couple.
I'm honestly going for what DinoSteve said. SOme people even like to imagine Spinosaurus had some fuzziness to it...
Gosh I had a really nice topic but the browser crashed and I lost several paragraphs... what a shame...
I'm just going to say this here, not really bringing any arguments supporting it (YET!).
This it not my opinion or anyone's opinion...
It is VERY likely that ALL dinosaurs had some sort of feathery skin covering.
Yep. I will try to remake that topic showing you why, but this is it. And it doesn't really matter if you agree or not to it, because this is far more likely than dinosaurs being scaly, and nature doesn't give two cents on our opinions.
Yeah, I do imagine it had to have quills, well that's what I think
Thanks, haha, I changed it from Raptor-401 to ALAN!-401 since I thought it would be funny to do so.
Ok...Sorry I-rex, but Godzilla is just too powerful. You're like putting a ant against a human.
Kinda "ify" about this whole human and dinosaur coexistence. Jurassic Park: The Lost World left it nicely by simply putting, "These creatures require our absence to survive, not our help. And if we could only step aside and trust in nature, life will find a way." -John Hammond.
I mean the idea of coexistence isn't bad, but it somewhat conflicts with the idea of "The world has just changed so radically, and we're all running to catch up. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but look... Dinosaurs and man, two species separated by 65 million years of evolution have just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?" -Dr. Grant. Which by watching the movie, it didn't go well.
I guess it just may be me, but I find odd to have a Jurassic Park movie out of the Park. But you could argue that the T-rex in the second film was in San diego...which the scenario had some moments, but the mood of the movie somewhat changed. It became like Godzilla (which I do not hate) but highly prefer a T-rex to be hunting in its envoriment and killing people (it stands out more and better imagery).
But like I said, it could just be me. At first I didn't like the idea of I-rex, because like what Owen said,"They're dinosaurs, they're amazing enough." But then I was proven wrong, cause I-rex was pretty amazing to have.
So maybe this new idea can be something enjoyable. Hopefully nothing ending like transformer though.
Completely understood! :))
I think Colin Trevorrow did a wonderful job for the jurassic Park fanbase, I'm a positive it pleased us all.
As for a new director, I can't wait! New ideas are always welcomed. No let downs please~
@ALAN!-401
Yup, that's much more probable than..."turkey rex" up there. The second picture I find much more accurate, and it sort of matches your description!
BTW: Nice name!
@DINOBONEZ
It wasn't directed towards you; more-so some of the ones posting here who still think that a feathered dinosaur has no potential to be frightening or any potential to be intimidating.
I could honestly care less if a dinosaur is scary or not. It's an animal, not a science fiction monster. We should be designing them to what fossils are telling us. Currently, fossils are gearing towards more feathered dinosaurs than scaley. Simple as that.
Sure, we do not have direct evidence for Tyrannosaurus being feathered, but the more we find of the animal and the more we find evidence from its relatives, the more it's safe to assume that they at least had patches of feathers scattered on the body.
I'd think it's much like modern-day elephants. Believe it or not, Elephants are actually pretty hairy. Not as hairy as their woolly cousins, but hairy still. However, it comes in patches in specific locations throughout the body: on the forehead, under the maw, on the stomach, etc. I would think Tyrannosaurus would share a similar makeup, especially since Yutyrannous supported a full body of feathers and was an ancestor.
^ Hehe, yeah what he said. Cx
Well as many men did say, absence of proof is not necessarily proof of absence. I personally imagine T. rex to have had some quills AT LEAST on its back, maybe some proto-fetahers here and there.
I really do want to get lots of the collecitbles!
I understand what you mean, though I personally think in The Lost World the acting was the best there, but that's just me.
@NATEZILLA10000
I already said in the second paragraph that I don't have a problem with feathered dinosaurs. I'm not sure who that comment was directed towards, but if it WAS for me, I suggest you go back and re-read the second paragraph.
Zara's death was horrific and undeserved, getting picked up by a pterosaur, dropped then caught mid air, then the same thing again in then dropped into the water in then picked up again then crushed and eaten by the mosasaur. Brutal. But atleast the pterosaur got what he deserved.
Another worthy mention was when masanari died, no one except that one girl in the lab actually cared or mentioned his death.
I really like the part where Owen was in the barrier with the raptors, really minded me a lot of when zoo keepers (although raise the creatures) can and will be attacked. Not that I like the thought of a human being getting hurt...especially by the animal they care for.
Intersting topic I must say.
At this point, everyone should just believe what they think...for now.
Ok I'm just going to say this as a Spinosaurus fan.
Yes T-rex should've won (the first bite of Rex should've broke Spino's neck, *SPOILERS* but same could be said about jurassic world since T-rex bite I-rex's neck first also). So scientifically yes Rex would win.
~ T-rex 1 and Spinosaurus 0
T-rex Fan base > Spino Fan base
~ T-rex 2 and Spinosaurus 0
T-rex shows up in every Jurassic Park Franchise
~ T-rex 3 and Spinosaurus 0
T-rex destroys Spinosaurus bones (which I'll be honest got me upset and angry, so if that wasn't enough...then wow...but I glad T-rex got their fan service)
~ T-rex 4 and Spinosaurus 0
Director points out T-rex redemption and says Rex killed the spino (which is why the bones are there)
~ T-rex 5 and Spinosaurus 0
T-rex in the video games always kill spino or is a higher level in the last few years (ex. Primal Carnage, Jurassic Park arcade, Lego Jurassic World, etc. etc)
~ T-rex 6 and Spinosaurus 0
And last but not least, Spinosaurus fans have is Jp3...which can be consider a -1 or +1 for some people. But either way, if it's revenge you want. It was standing right in front of you all this time, like said previously, Spinosaurus will most likely never show up ever again in a Jurassic Park film. Spinosaurus is literally buried (well, the old reconstruction at least). Now I'm not trying to complain and saying this is a big deal (I'm not hating any of things I listed at all, I understand why T-rex is king and loved. I like T-rex, it's such a powerful creature. So I get why they would be angry.), but all I want now is to have Spinosaurus left alone or at least be treated with some form of respect.
Sorry if I sound a bit rude, I'm not trying to start a debate or anything. It's a bit of a touchy subject for us spino fans or me at least. I also know we're nog post talk about T-rex vs Spino in the forums anyway. So let's just leave it as that.
I was actually hoping one day they will team up Spino and Rex for next Jw sequel. A great way to set this up is to have what??? Ingen created more Dinosaurs unlisted??? They created a pack of mapusaurus?
Just think about it, raptors in packs were scary enough...but what if they were size of T-rex? I would say a pack of Mapusaurus would be so entertaining to see and fit the image so swell. Have them interrupt a confrontation between a Rex and Spino. That would be so cool.
Heck, you could make them all die in one battle (to avoid debates). But the thought of a pack of Mapusaurus chasing you would be so devastating, horrifying, and as well entertaining. ;)
The only problem with this is where it should take place, and the only place I think it'd fit perfectly is to have it on Isla Sorna...but god forbid no one wants to go to that island again.
I am really curious what H. Wu has instored for us in the next sequel.
Like Alan401 said, "it was not in the movie."
Baryonyx does show up as a playable Lego jurassic World dinosaur. Plus, if you look on the website...there's no animation design for them. They were brightly colored and just digital arts of them. While you look at T-rex, I-rex, etc. They were created by cgi.
They were just there on the website to just be there. For the hype most likely...
EDIT: Masrani in the helicopter
Zara died badly...I mean she wasn't even the main villian or even of the villians...couldn't it have been the guy in Ingen Military (forgot his name)
But if I had to choose other than Zara...
There's the guy (I'm so sorry I forgot their names) who died in the airplane...
Then there's Charlie (I think), which became roasted chicken)
Also let's not forgot who I-rex went down
Mosasurus will proabably die the sadest...it's stuck ._.
To make this short since I always get signed out whenever I write a long comment.
I love all four films and the first being my favorite, the best, and the first I've seen. As for the other three, I love them equally the same. Jp3 was just short, but heck the acting is a lot better than the other two. Jp 2 had an huge adventure, but it was a bit too stretched. Jurassic world was imaginative, but acting and characters were stale. So in my opinion, saying Jp3 was horrible isn't fair. I will never forget about it, too many memories and inspiration came from that film. It was a nice touch into looking more at dinosaurs.
Btw, to say Jp3 represented the dinosaurs as monsters only, has always been one of the themes in the Jurassic Park Series. (Look at 1, a little bit of 2, 3 obivously, and even four).
I don't understand why people don't do their research before posting on topics like this. And by research, I don't mean watching some 30 min. BBC mockumentary about dinosaurs.
There is very little evidence for dinosaurs with feathers. There is very little evidence for dinosaurs with quils. There is nothing but poor assumptions made by scientists desperate to stay relevant and capture people's interest (and thusly, their money).
The handful of small species found with feathers are also calculated to have been much further along in evolution, and following different paths.
REPEAT: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT TRICERATOPS OR TYRANNOSAURUS HAD FEATHERS. NONE. ZERO. ZILCH.
The best the feather-camp can muster is "Plausible Genetic Predisposition". With plausible being their own adjective to further bolster their already empty claim. What that means is, they may have been genetically similar enough to feathered species to have contained the genetic code necessary for sprouting feathers or quils, even if these genes were entirely recessive.
So again, despite what airs on BBC or Animal Planet for entertainment value...it is no more accurate than the visuals in Jurassic Park...as hardly anything is knowable and almost all of it is speculation based on glorified guess work.
Interesting debate, I'll post a topic with my thoughts on the matter :)
Not gonna lie, I cried a little when Charlie died. Don't know why, but maybe it's something to do with my love for raptors, or just how the scene itself played out.
OH BOY. FETHURZ. YAS. GUD. NEED MOAR.
Anyway, I'll input my thoughts here, because why not? Everyonw else seems to have done such already.
Anyway, as some of the older forum members may recall, I am a very big fan of feathered dinosaurs. Now, that said, I do acknowledge that they should be used in limited numbers. So, let's go through the main groupd of dinosaurs that everyone seems to have set.
1. Dromaeosaurs/Raptors: Cover them from head to toe, but leave the feet and head barren, except in the case of long-nosed dromaeosaurs namely Buitreraptor, who may have had more feathers along their head and less on their legs so as to support a more piscivorous lifestyle.
2. Tyrannosaurs:Certainly large coverings on some of the smaller ones, as well as any from the asian continent. As for the large, North-American Tyrannosaurs, I think a mane, back, and arm coverings are most likely, however they may have had a thin covering over the rest of their body as well, that may have grown thicker in the colder months. But that's just speculation.
3. Allosaurs: Possibly a small covering, maybe a back covering of quills and protofeathers in later species. There is not a lot of evidence however.
4. Abelisaurids: Possibly more covering here, though little, if any, evidence exists to support this.
5. Oviraptors: Similar to dromaeosaurs, I think oviraptors would've also had a large covering of feathers, however I see them as having mor on the head and less on the legs, similar to an emu.
6. Ornithimimids: See: Oviraptors.
7. Therizinosaurs: Although the larger species may have had a slightly thinner covering, I see these as covered in feathers.
8. Early theropods: protofeathers or quills, if anything.
9. Other theropods: On large ones, protofeather coverings and maybe more feathers or quills on their back and arms, or just scales. On smaller ones, more feathered coverings throughout their bodies, especially on later species.
10. Ceratopsians: Quills on their back, possibly on the back of smaller species frills that they could fan out like a peacock to scare of predators and/or attract mates.
11. Hadrosaurs: There is evidence that these were scaly, but some species may have had protofeathers.
12. Ornithopods: Possible feathered coverings, however there is no evidence to support this.
13. Other herbivores: Little amounts of protofeathers, if anything.
There was probably no planned seens and those dinos could have been added to the site after, but then again you see a Baryonyx on a shirt, simple they had no seens to use them. I was hoping though.
I have said it many time, Charlie was RPG'ed, Delta got the furnace and Echo got the I-Rex + Delta killed Hoskins...
I can give evidence, a lot, but main factor is Charlie camera screen goes fuzzy with static plus it can't be Echo since she has a scar on her snout which is not seen there but later one. Delta killed Hoskins in a referance to what happened earlie in the film, and was the only green raptor left plus she had no stripes.
And yes the other anky is knocked down, but there were 4...
I also think Hamada had a brutal death, not what I wanted, but brutal. I never realised he got electified, and I saw it twice (and I am seeing it at the IMA 3D this weekend!), but none the less, it crushed him in its grip, he was dropped and was dunked in water then stomped on....ouch........
Also Cooper was in serious pain aswell as Nash who was leg bitten, then dropped and then stomped on, It is actually similar to Hamada....
But yeah the ACU and Worker do it for me....
I was going to make this thread...but you did so thats great! XD
I still don't agree with people saying Zara had the worst death I hear it everywhere...
Is it because she is a woman? Is it because she is innocent? Someone was going to get snatched sooner or later and someone was going to have to be Moses food...
Also I liked how they killed characters who didn't deserve it/innocent, it made it feel more real and unpredictable, like my brothers reaction to Masrani's death, he was so cool and nice then BOOM!!!!
I dislike how people over look workers/unamed characters...The worst death was by far that ACU who got destroyed, (PK even said he got decapicated!) or that first worker... we all saw the trailer and clip, but the final version was different, I watched an inteview with the updated/cinema release version, played in slow motion and it bloody was using its hands to tear him apart, it pull his bloody leg off! Plus that death will always stay with me since that moment in the cinema, an advanced cinema (much louder) at midnight and hearing that crunch and tearing...
Thats is just my thought, and if people are going to come back with it went fast, well I belive being crushed is quicker (MOSES HAD A SECOND ROW OF TEETH) than what Muldoon, Udesky or other fallen raptor victims got not to mention Nedry, so yeah...
I am getting everything I can...
So far...
All of Wave one basic figures
All of Wave one Hero Mashers
LEGO Indominus Breakout
LEGO JURASSIC WORLD THE GAME
and 3 JW shirts
I got to get more
Being totally honest, there's something about that T-Rex that just doesn't look as intimidating as other artwork I've seen of unfeathered versions.
And with the exception of that raptor image, I find giant reptiles (being as smaller ones like snakes and alligators are scary as well), a lot scarier than oversized birds.
It's like comparing an ostrich with sharp teeth to an alligator for me. I'm sorry, but it's just the way I feel about it.
