t-rex90Jurassic World ForumRaptors Rise to the Top in JPIVJun 13, 2013
When most people think of Dinosaur, the most common thing they think of is a big terrifying lizard or reptile that wreck havoc in it's path. The most common one is T-Rex as far as predatory dinosaurs go. Yes, keep the velociraptors as one of the main threats but T-Rex is the one that defines Jurassic Park as well as ferocious meat eating dinosaurs. Or let me just say, keep a huge carnivorous dinosaur in the film as the top main threat.

Triceratops were NOT small prey unless you're reffering to none fully grown trikes.
Replyt-rex90Dinosaurs ForumCharcharodontosaurusJun 13, 2013
It'd be a good a fight but I think T-Rex would probably win most of the time because of it's better built and powerful bite. Not saying that it wouldn't leave without a few good bruises and gash marks of course.

I consider that scene to be the best scene in movie history.

I love the last T-Rex roar of the first JP too. It was so awesome. It was kinda the way the Rex moved too though. It throws the Raptor into the skeleton, looks like the momentum forces it to step, turns in a half circle, then roars while the banner falls from the roof or where it was hanging.

In Jurassic Park 3 they made Spino win. In reality the T-rex would have killed the Spino when he had a hold of Spino's neck.
T-rex jaws are specialised in killing armored prey with a bone crushing force.
Spinosaurus jaws are specialized in snatching quik slipery prey with razor sharp teeth.

I could see them having the raptors be the main threat. I don't know about them killing off Tyrannosaurus or Spinosaurus with em, but they would make for a good threat. I still say the Tyrannosaurus should make an appearance though. Perhaps, like in the first one, it shows up and takes out the raptors. But not much more than that. I don't mind Spinosaurus, but I think it had it's turn with JP 3 and, while it was not bad, I don't think it was the best decision. The raptors could certainly be the main threat in JP 4 though, but the rex needs an appearance. Maybe the Spino chases the group a bit, but not much more than that.

Not a bad lineup. I would defiantly include Brygmophyseter. I would include Liopleurodon. My estimates put it at 85 ft and 150 tons, but even the smaller estimates, 30-40 ft and 10-20 tons, still make it big. Just my thoughts.

ACRO should be the first on the list, because it is believed by scientists that they killed large, stupid prey (like sauropods) while Trex hunted small, smart prey (like triceratops). This way you could have unique battles over unique prey items and not have the same thing over and over (e.g. Raptor gets human, Trex gets trike) but instead trex getting a ceratopsian ( not trike ) and ACRO getting a brach.

Look at the JP 4 trailer carefully, it shows a brachiosaurus that appears to be standing on the roof of a building. How the heck is that possible?!?

I might be able to Show a troodon in the movie, just not hunting something Big because these animals were not like velociraptor, they were more scavenger then hunter. Did they have feathers in the game, because I wanna add feathers to all Dinos who need them, but will resist if I must?

If I make a second movie I might put Acrocanthosaurus in to have a sauropod hunt, and whie that takes place, das hunting trikes, and maybe they cross each other's path and the Trex kicks acros butt!

I feel in the end, size and weaponry don't mean nothing! It all comes down to who's gonna fight harder. A male polar bear may be twice the size of a female, but if she is defending her cubs, that male better watch out. Same goes for dinosaurs. Especially dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus which seem to be family oriented.

ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumEffects that could change a T-Rex/Spino fightJun 12, 2013
I kinda said circumstances when I said motives. But, that is a great point and if it were not essential to one or the other, it could go either way. But if it was important (like family or desperately hungry), it would likely go towards the one that is defending.

While that things does scare the heck out of me, I don't like it. Steven Spielberg said while doing the 1st film that he didn't want a monster movie, he wanted reality. And if you put that as the main face of the JP logo, you might as well throw Dora the explorer in there too. I think the main predator should be a marine animal, like
Ipolureodon.
Replyt-rex90Dinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontJun 12, 2013
There's a difference between a lion and a crocodile, we all know crocodiles eat larger prey than fish, buffalo, antelope, zebra, etc. lions do the same thing and in that case, the croc is more like t-rex in terms of jaw power goes, like t-rex, their teeth and bite force is designed for crushing bones, not ripping or tearing. longer arms does'nt always mean better, the facts are that it was lighter and more fragile while t-rex was heavily built and more powerful. I think I'd place my bets on a dinosaur killer any day over a fish eater. Winner, Tyrannosaurus Rex.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDeltadromeusJun 12, 2013
If Deltadromeus was indeed a ceratosaur, that still does not mean it was the largest. Keep in mind, sizes are based off of my estimates. Some isolated Ceratosaurus remains suggest these predators were able to get to 25 or more feet in length. Possibly weighing 2-3 tons.
Deltadromeus seems to be about 33 feet long, which makes it the longest ceratosaur, but probably weighed no more than 2-3 tons. The largest Ceratosaurus' may have rivaled Deltadromeus in weight which is what scientists look at when it comes to what is biggest. Like I said, I don't fully believe Delta was a ceratosaur, seems more like an allosaur. However, if it was, it was probably the longest, but not necessarily the heaviest.
*Sizes based on my estimates
Contenders for largest ceratosaur...
