MemberCompsognathusMay-16-2015 1:36 PMFor old times sake. Hopefully I'm not too rusty...
Indominus Rex vs Zilla
Indominus Rex(scaled up)
Size- 312 feet long, 186 feet tall, and 459 tons
Weapons- teeth, strong jaws, large claws, opposable thumbs, intelligence, camouflage, armor, and speed
Weaknesses- Smaller
Background-
Indominus Rex was created as a new attraction for Jurassic World. Two were created, though one had killed her sibling. Dr. Wu had done secret experimentation on the dead sibling and even brought it back to life. Unfortunately, she grew to an enormous size and escaped. No one knows the current whereabouts of the giant dinosaur hybrid.
Zilla
Size- 328 feet long, 196 feet tall, and 500 tons
Weapons, teeth, strong jaws, large claws, intelligence, spikes, burrowing, swimming, fire breath, and speed
Weaknesses- Not quite as smart or fast
Background-
Zilla is the result of nuclear testing in the south Pacific. After growing to his gigantic size, he made his way to New York City to nest. However, what he did between mutation and the New York incident is a bit of a mystery.
Setting- Isla Muerta
FIGHT!
The I-Rex is patrolling the shores of Isla Muerta. After escaping Isla Sorna, she made her way here and established her own home. The island is covered in massive trees, some reaching nearly 200 feet tall. Many come all the way to the beach. Just a few hundred yards off shore, the ocean floor suddenly drops off to a depth of some 600 feet before leveling out again. A few other dinosaur species live here too, though none even come close to her size. It’s hard to feed herself here. Soon, she’ll have to move on soon. She smells the salty sea air and lies down in the sand. But for now, she is queen here.
Miles away, Zilla cruises through the Pacific Ocean with ease. He just left French Polynesia, and is now looking for a nesting site. Not far away, he smells vegetation. Vegetation means land. He speeds up in anticipation.
As he nears the shore, Zilla sees something large resting on shore. He slows down before he engages the giant. On the beach, the I-Rex senses something is amiss. She stands up and smells the air. Then, she stares out at the ocean. She can tell there’s something there. Zilla charges forward, his back spikes breaking the surface like a shark’s fin. The Indominus can tell this means danger and braces herself. Zilla lunges out of the water, jaws agape. He smashes into the Indominus, and the two titans collide. Zilla backs off a few feet and so does the I-Rex. Then, the I-Rex uses one of her fingers to draw a line in the sand. It’s clear what she means. The battles lines have been drawn. There will be no retreat.
The two huge reptiles circle each other. I-Rex flashes her teeth and snarls. Zilla lets out a loud shriek that shakes the trees. The I-Rex knows she can top that and roars at the top of her lungs. She manages to drown out even Zilla’s screech. Zilla charges forward and slams his head into her flank. As she falls, she lashes out with her hand claws and slashes Zilla’s snout. Zilla staggers back and hisses. He looks up to see the tail of the Indominus disappearing into the forest. He peers into the enormous trees, but her camouflage hides her perfectly. Zilla can’t comprehend how a bright white behemoth like her can disappear into the forest so easily.
Suddenly, I-Rex leaps out of the forest, changing her color so rapidly it disoriented Zilla. He staggers back and shakes his head in confusion. She uses this opportunity and attacks. Her powerful jaws snap shut on Zilla’s left arm. She shakes her head, tearing apart the flesh. Zilla finally pulls himself together and counters. He slaps her aside with his hand claws and the Indominus staggers back. She looks at the blood running down her shoulder and realizes it’d be pointless to try and change color again. Her blood would give her away.
The two titans stare each other down. They charge each other and collide head on. Zilla uses his superior size and is able to gain ground. However, using her thumbs, she manages to grab hold of his shoulders and shove him away. Zilla backs up, roars, and swings his huge tail at the I-Rex. It strikes her square in the lower jaw and she is sent spinning due to the force. Zilla uses this chance, turns, and dives into the ocean. He submerges and turns back toward the island. Back on shore, the I-Rex painfully stands up and faces the ocean. She knows he’s not gone, but she doesn’t know what he has in store.
Zilla speeds toward the island and slams into the wall of rock submerged in the ocean. He burrows through the island, then starts to head back toward the surface. The I-Rex feels the ground begin to shake, then watches as Zilla explodes out of the ground before her in a surprise attack. She’s completely caught off guard. He lunges forward and snaps his jaws shut on her back, just above her shoulders. Luckily for her, her armored back takes the brunt of the blow, though it still hurts like crazy. She lashes out with her hand claws and manages to slash his chest. Zilla lets go and backs down.
The Indominus gets down on all fours and leaps forward like a pouncing cat. She lands on Zilla’s flank and grips him with her claws. She rakes her toe claws down his flank, but can’t get a good bite in like she hoped due to his enormous spikes. Zilla shakes his whole body and manages to throw her off. She lands hard, and looks up to see Zilla opening his jaws wide. As she peers into his open mouth, it begins to glow orange. Then, a burst of flames shoots out toward her and slams into her flank. The I-Rex roars in pain. Her armor can only protect her so much. She charges into the ocean for some relief. She glares at Zilla with her hate filled eyes.
Zilla rears up to his full height, lifts his head toward the sky, and shrieks loudly. That’s when the Indominus sees her opening. She unexpectedly leaps at the giant lizard and slams into his chest. His throat is exposed and her jaws close around it. Zilla’s shriek was choked off and he couldn’t breath. He grabbed her snout and tried to push her off of him, but her jaws held fast. Then, placing his feet on her stomach and grabbing her head with his hands, he managed to throw her off of him and send her crashing into the trees.
The two giants painfully stood and stared each other down. The Indominus made one final roar in a last ditch attempt to scare Zilla off. Zilla screeched back, decided he’d find a different nesting spot, and plunged back into the ocean. The I-Rex collapsed into the sand due to sheer exhaustion. She panted heavily, closed her eyes, and let darkness over take her tired body.
Winner- Depends
Technically, Indominus managed to drive Zilla away, but he certainly gave her quite the beat-down all the same. If they kept fighting, who knows how it’d play out. So, I’d say it’s too close to call.
- Note that Zilla’s flame breath was a little bit of my own idea. He had a “power breath” in the 1998 movie, but I still find it difficult to understand just what that means. I didn’t wanna give him atomic breath though, so I thought a flame breath was a good middle ground.

MemberCompsognathusMay-16-2015 2:20 PMWhy would you pit a massive mutant iguana against something that would make itself look like a lap dog to Zilla?

MemberAllosaurusMay-16-2015 3:40 PMGood matchup but just wanted to say, Zilla doesn't have firebreath. The thing he used was some form of breath just air that set a Car on fire.
Good grief.

MemberCompsognathusMay-16-2015 4:14 PMNice work!!! It's so good to see your posts again! I loved the fight, some of my favourites! Zilla was the first Godzilla moive I saw and I loved it when I was little so I have a soft spot for him, but the I-Rex is also so cool!
Good job! I hope we see more!
I want more! More... Num num

MemberAllosaurusMay-16-2015 6:40 PMA pretty good fight, but wouuldn't it be more realistic if Zilla (or Zilla Jr?) was the size of the Indominus rex?
Either way, I'm happy this was a thing.
