fight!!!!!!!
the torvo wakes up after a long nap. He sneaks away from his pack to find food.meanwhile a t.rex is on a rampage because he smells another carnivore. On hiss rampage he sees the torvo and charges but torvo uses his acute senses and swerves out of the way as the the tyrant rushes past him .the torvo bites down on his back .the rex is amazed at the torvos agility .the rex shakes violently and torvo finally releases his victim. Rex snaps at torvo . Biting his snout torvo backs up and then uses his huge strong arm with big claws and slashes him, making big gash marks. He then kicks the rex several times making large scars on his chest . Rex finally let's go them slams his huge skull into torvos skull then camps down on tis neck, applying pressure but torvo is rough and kicks snaps and slaahes rex and tears of one of Rex's arms and rex finally let's go but torvo is ready then kicks him over and bites his stomach and rips out a large chunk of flesh. Rec kicks at torvo but to no avail and torvo bites his neck killing him

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 6:06 AMI think you Torvosaurus is far to big but, anyways decent fight.
here some tips, take of you want them.
1. look at other fights to get a good length
2. Use pictures. If you don't know how heres how, click insert, find the picture you want, copy and paste the link, then choose a appropriate description then size.
3. Look at fights to get the right format.
4. Don't post so many discussions, it gets annoying when the entire recent topics section is full of one guys discussions.
5. Take your time, check grammer and spelling mistakes as much as possible.

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 6:38 AMDon't think european Torvosaurus got much above 5 tons but anyways.
1. Type it on the notes app so you can take your time
2. Good
3. Good
4. You really should only post 1-2 discussions a day, it gets really annoying if you do more then that.
5. Good

MemberTyrannosaurus RexAug-09-2014 8:22 AMGood fight considering the Torvo was almost twice as big as it should be. A normal sized Torvo vs a normal size Rex would be fighting an uphill battle. The odds just wouldn't be in it's favour. Good fight anyway, I was rooting for Rex.

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 9:10 AMEven a Torvosaurus of this size would be fighting an uphill battle. A Tyrannosaur has jaws powerful enough to take out oponents with one good hit. Still was a good fight, and listen to the people above. Torvosaurus was 4-5 tons tops.

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 9:21 AMThere's still a chance the european Torvo got to be forty feet long. The post caudal vertabrate aren't fused in the newest find, suggesting a sub-adult at the onset of maturity. A torvo forty five feet long would be able to take on a rex, but it would loose most of the time.

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 9:21 AMtorvo had a very powerful bite too and i believe torvo could haven much bigger than 5 tons

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 9:26 AMThe only thing that bugs me Is that... we don't have proof of Torvosaurus geting above 36 feet, we can make it bigger then that maybe 40 feet tops but, I don't think we can jump to a 45 foot long 8 ton Torvosaurus...

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:03 AMDAS MONSTER, was most likely an allosaurid.... Not a Torvosaurus...

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:05 AMDas monster von minden is a sketchy theropod. There are claims of banana sized teeth and ribs 1,5 size of Allosaurus(If that realy holds true, who knows?) at the site, aswell as the rather small skull. Years ago I saw a pic of a reconstructed skull that looked very much like Torvosaurus´. So the smaller specimen seems to be a Megalosaurid. Probably no one knows what the larger parts may be? Maybe be even a Chimera (Pliosaur teeth?).
There's a german National Geographic article from 1999, which mentioned the rib to be 50% larger, but appearently, there are no other sources for that size. I can't find that article, but I fear this could be again a media exaggeration. There's no sciencifitic description, a media article can easily make the rib larger than it is.
In Holtz Genus list, that dinosaur was just 12m long.
Also, Mickey Mortimer downgraded that thing quite substaintially in the size department:
" ~7-8 m; 750 kg-1.2 tons) (skull ~1.0 m) premaxilla, maxilla (517 mm),
lacrimal?, postorbital?, anterior dentary,
teeth, fused gastralium, two caudal vertebrae, one complete dorsal rib,
four rib fragments, ilium, fibulae (750 mm), other elements, gastrolith The infamous "Das Monster von Minden",
this basal tetanurine really wasn't that large. The maxillae suggest a cranial
length of a meter, and this ad the fibular(?) length both indicate
a total length of only 7-8 meters."

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:09 AMInteresting carnosaur... So Das monster might have just been a mix of megalosaur and pilosaur bones....

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:14 AMplausible, but then again that's just my working hypothesis. Surely, an animal of the supposed initial 15 meters would have been described by now! It's been almost 17 years since it was described

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:19 AMdo note that the biggest theropods probably come from the jurassic period. Something's gotta be big enough to kill those sauropods

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:20 AMThen again, there was a lot of huge sauropods from the cretaceous, and the biggest predators we have are all from the cretaceous.

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:29 AMAs of right now, yes that's true. But We have Amphicoelias(?) Apatosaurus - which got a huge size upgrade possibly(i'll post a discussion) Brachiosaurus, Giraffatitan, And a myriad of titanosaurs.
The largest animals to ever walk the earth roamed the jurassic, something had to feed off of them and keep their populations in check. And i doubt a pack of A. Fragillis would be able to touch brachiosaurus, let alone Giraffatitan. I could be wrong though, time will tell i guess

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 10:38 AMTrue, it is plausible.
My take is that there's animlas like Aregentinosaurus sauropodsiden, pralititan and many others as well as huge carnivores such as Giganotosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Carcharadontosaurus and many others.

What fascinates me is the fact we've just barely scratched the surface. In all likelyhood, there's animals out there that make the onese we know look puny in comparison

MemberCompsognathusAug-09-2014 11:19 AMIt is crazy to think about, I could just imagine a 500 foot long sauropod or 100 foot long theropod, unlikely but, it is possible.
