The Adventures of Tom: Chapter 1: An Unexpected Encounter

THE ADVENTURES OF TOM: CHAPTER 1: AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER

Tom kept on walking throughout the forest. He was now a human. He was holding Tom’s diary. He didn’t have a clue in the world of what to do. He was hungry, depressed, confused, tired, and just… he was just… lost…

He just kept on walking, but then he got the strange feeling that he was being…

Watched…

He turned into dino formation and looked around. He made a full 360 turn, but saw nothing. He walked forward, growling. Behind the bushes were the people who were watching him.

“Holy sh!t, did he just turn into, well, that???” Said a girl.

“Yes, now be cautious, we were already warned that in this world things are much different.” Said a boy.

“Okay, brother.” Said the girl.

The girl and the boy went behind Tom, very quietly, and then knocked Tom out with a blow from a rock. Tom fell to the ground.

“Haha, great work you two!” Said a voice.

“So, Raphael, what do we do with the intruders?”

Raphael looked at Tom quite curiously.

“Hmmm…. May I ask…? What the hell is that…?” Said Raphael.

“I ain’t got a god damn clue.” Said the boy.

“Well then, George you drag him up, and you, Kylee, just… follow us.” Said Raphael.

George agreed and started dragging Tom, a bit worried that he saw a boy transform into some reptile bird thingy. Or whatever the hell it was. Form what little he saw of the boy, he seemed about 13 or 14, about the same age as him, Kylee, and Raphael. George was strong, and he and the others were no heading back to the small village. By trapping an intruder, they would be rewarded… They would finally be considered adults by the tribe… His father would no longer think of him as a disappointment.

Raphael looked and realized it would take about 10 minutes to get back to the tribe. He too was thinking about how they would finally be considered adults once they showed the chief what they had gotten… But then again he felt bad for the thing… or the boy thing… He faintly saw the boy turn into the thing… He remembered his dad had showed him pictures of such creatures… Dinosaurs, that’s what they were called. He then thought about it… What exactly were they doing this for? He let out a little sigh and continued to walk on… But he couldn’t stop thinking… He was doing this just so some adults would actually care about his existence!? What would happen if he let this probable innocent creature live on… The others might agree with him and nobody would have to know… But then they wouldn’t be able to become adults… this was only one of the few ways of becoming an adult. You could hunt an intruder, hunt a dangerous beast, or… cut your privates off if you were a guy… and he was not doing that. But then he was focused on the worst part… When you captured an intruder, you bring him alive to the chief and when he approves of your victory… You must get a knife and take out the heart of the intruder… And since there were three of them, the second would have to rip out one lung, the other would rip out the other lung. It was less honorable if it was teamwork that brought down the intruder, but you still got to be considered an adult.

He couldn’t do it.

”Guys… I think we should free him-” said Raphael before he was interrupted.

“HIM!? Why not use the term… it.” Said Kaylee.

“Shut up and let me finish!!!” Yelled Raphael.

Kaylee looked slightly offended but shut her mouth. George couldn’t help but to give out a little chuckle.

“Look… I think he was helpless and innocent. Why hurt him? Look, we could just”- Said Raphael, before getting interrupted by George.

“Okay, now before you go on, I am NOT having some old man get a knife and cut off my”- Said George, before Raphael spoke again.

“I SAID SHUT IT!!!!” Yelled Raphael.

George also began to take Raphael seriously.

“Now, we could just free this boy and we won’t have to kill an innocent person!!! We could just hunt a ferocious creature, that way an innocent life will not be lost!” Said Raphael.

“Well, that would be more dangerous!!!” Said Kaylee.

George set Tom aside and the three started arguing about what was the best option.

Out in the back, Tom was beginning to regain consciousness.
