"Knobbed Lizard"
Length: 7 meters
Weight: 2 tons
Like the ankylosaurs, nodosaurus is a solitary plant grazer. They are well equipped to defend themselves, so herd mentality became nullified over millenia. They feast on shrubs and low hanging trees, though they will wade into shallow waters and feed on aquatic plants. Nodosaurus individuals have been noted to stick around hadrosaur herds, this is thought to occur because Nodosaurus has a terrible sense of sight, so the hadrosaurs provide an early warning when predators are nearby.
Neovenator
"new hunter"
Length: 8 meters
Weight: 1.5 tons
Era: Cretaceous
Neovenator is a lethal creature. While it's not the largest land carnivore to ever exist, they are explosively violent and pack the tools necessary to make an efficient kill. They commonly associate with others of their species, but this is more for gregarious purposes rather then pack hunting. They are secondary predators, smart enough to know standing and fighting a larger carnivore for a kill is not worth the injuries involved.
Here we go..
A lone male Nodosaurus grazes mindlessly in a rocky field, but he's not the only herbivore around. A herd of Corythosaurus, around 150 strong, graze the rocky grounds as well. Small birds perch on the Nodosaurs' armored shell, picking at insects and ticks that had attached themselves to the plant eater. His poor sense of vision could only detect the color green among the drab grey rocks, the young shoots were of high nutriotious value. The hadrosaurs didn't seem to be after these though, instead they grazed on the small bushes and low hanging branches of conifer trees. The shoots provided a banquet for the long Nodosaurus.
Little did he know that danger lurked nearby.
An old male Neovenator had been following the herd for miles, and now searched out a target. He had followed this particular herd for the past ten years, picking off the injured, sick, and young. He had even taken down a perfectly healthy male at one point, but that was in his peak. He was now an old reptile nearing the end of his lifespan. He wasn't as quick as he used to be, and the Corythosaurs were suprisingly agile for animals their size.
The nodosaurus moved closer to the hadrosaurs, finding the larger shoots were located near them rather then in the center of the field. As he pulled a large one out of the rocky earth, the panicked honking began. Not one of them began to run, but all were overly alert. They knew the Neovenator was close by, but couldn't pinpoint where. The birds flew from the Nodosaurus, and that's when he caught on. He hunkered himself down instinctively, protecting his soft underbelly.
The neovenator bursted out of his cover, running straight into the midst of the herd. They scattered in various directions, their colossal bodies slammingtogether in their frenzied panick.
He snapped his jaws at the passing Hadrosaurs and roared continiously, trying to seperate one off from the rest. Unfortunetly for him, they were on their toes today. Even the young ones had made a fair distance between them and the Allosauroid. An old buck ran by, and The Neovenator bit down at the base of the tail. He was yanked bodily to the ground and the Corythosaurus continued on its way, a large section of its tail now in the Predators jaws. He got up painfully before swallowing the hunk of meat. He surveyed the territory, looking for any stragglers.
That's when his eyes fell on the Nodosaurus. He was attempting to make it to the cover of conifer trees without being detected, but the eagle eyed predator had locked on. With bounding steps, he caught up to the armored herbivore. He circled him, trying to search out a weakness on the seemingly impenetrable formidable armor.
The Nodosaurus swished his tail violently, the lethal looking spikes that tipped each side acted much like a chainsaw blade when they were being used. The neovenator launched his attack, biting down around the Nodosaurus' small head. He yanked forcefully, and the armored tank collapsed to the ground. The predator worked on the armored skin, taking his lethal talons and raking them on either side of the plant grazer.
The claws did not dig deep though, and caught on the bony texture. He roared in frustration and attempted to yank his claws out violently, but they held fast on the pebbled skin. By then, the Nodosaurus had gotten back on all fours. He surged forward, forcing the Neovenator to the ground. He then procedded to gore the hapless Neovenator with one of his shoulder spikes, opening up a large gouge in his thigh below the knee.
The injured flesh eater got up very painfully, eager to resume his attack. Blood flowed from the wound like waters out of a broken dam, yet he didn't let it hinder him. The neovenator circled the well protected herbivore once more.e swiping at the Nodosaurus flanks with his claws when he got around the back, The attack, cut up the left rear leg quickly. The soft skin on the back of the leg was now in bloody ribbons.
He swung his tail in an attempt to kill the predator, but it only collided with the large rocks that jutted defiantly from the ground. The metallic clinking sound it produced rattled in the Herbivores head.
By then. the Neovenator had circled again to the front. The Nodosaurus hunkered down, his soft underbelly nearly touching the ground. The predator lashed at out his armored skull, not lacerating it by any means but unnerving the little herbivore a great deal. He locked eyes on his attacker as it circled again to his left flank, and that's when his primative brain came up with an idea.
As the Neovenator came in to attack his left rear leg again, he abruptly got into a standing position and threw his weight in the Neovenators direction. Multiple spikes pierced the predators chest, sending it jumping back and shrieking in pain.
The Neovenator came again, this time from behind with intentions to take the left rear leg completely out. As he was about to wrap his jaws around the stubby limb, the Nodosaurus brought his tail around and slammed it upside the New hunters' head. One spike pierced a fragile point in the skull, hitting the brain and ultimately dealing the killing blow. Another lodged itself in the predators eye, and when the herbivore tugged away, the Neovenator came with it. He slumped lifelessly to the ground, not a sound or movement escaped his corpse. The Nodosaurus looked on for a moment, before attempting to go find the Corythosaurus herd.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
