MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2014 9:27 PMWhat happens when a large allosaur takes on the tyrant of alberta? Let's fint out..
Yangchuanosaurus
The "Yangchuan Lizard"
Length: 11 meters
Height: 3 meters
Weight: 4 tons
Era: Jurassic
This creature looks like its relative A. Fragilis, but an Allosaurus on steroids. This Allosaurid is one of the largest resurrected by ingen, stretching for an impressive 35 feet or so and weighing in at 4 tons. Yangchuanosaurus is a brute, taking on the largest Sauropods in their roving murderous gangs. The hatchet jaw function they possess makes the kill easier then it would without; the wounds created eventually killing the prey species with a combination of shock and blood loss.
Albertosaurus
The " Alberta Lizard"
Length: 8 meters
Weight: 2.5 tons
Height: 2.5 meterse
Albertosaurs are pack animals. Unlike other tyrannosaurs, which hunt in packs of 4 or 5, Albertosaurus has been observed in huge packs of 20 plus members.Young males are solitary animals, until they can form packs of their own. They use their overwhelming numbers to take down large and difficult prey. They have been observed attacking Diplodocus, though the outcome wasn't seen. Albertosaurs can co-exist with other tyrannosaurs for short periods, but aggression pays a factor in who ends up having to leave.
Here we go..
A small pack of Albertosaurus is on the hunt. This group didn't yearn for the taste of hadrosaur flesh, no ceratopsian like most tyrannosaurs. This pack was a specialized sauropod slaying unit. Ingen field scientists had labeled them " Pack Z". The largest, a female, was a tawny brown color. She bore bright red saddles on her back and thighs. Two other females, much smaller then the alpha, are a chocolate brown coloration. Their saddles are red as well, but much less so them the larger female. A male of around 3 tons in weight finished the pack, his coloration steel grey, His dewlap a fiery orange.
The pack walked onto a rocky valley, one devoid of vegitation. A couple cypress trees poked out of the rocks in an act of defiance. These alpha predators weren't here for these trees; they were hear for the lusotitan herd they had stalked for miles. The giant brachiosaurs appeared oblivious to the murderous gang of theropods closing in on their herd.
Across the small valley, a pack of Yangchuanosaurus stomped onto the rocky earth. Their pack, also noted by field scientists, was dubbed - rather affectionatly- "Them". The allosaurus pack consisted of an enormous male, a bronze coloration with bright red crests above the eyes. Two males, approaching the size of their leader, where a dull yellow coloration. Their horns a less vibrant shade of red. A sub adult female finished out the members, her coloration a charcoal grey with a blue striped tail. They as well, were here for the Lusotitan. Neither pack had noticed the other yet.
The Tyrannosaurs charged towards the Brachiosaurs. The alpha had singled out a target, a large female with a very obvious limp. As the Albertan tyrants neared, the Lusotitan began to scramble.
That's when the Allosaurs made their move. With a malicious growl, the large female charged into the herd. The others followed suit.
The Lusotitan soon found themselves between a rock and a hard place, Ravenous predators at either end of them.
The Albertosaurs had suceeded in seperating the injured animal from the herd. It reared and came down feet from the smallest male, the earth trembling beneath its feet. The Alpha tyrannosaur leapt onto its side, raking her lethal two fingered hands and lethal foot talons down the animals side. Blood oozed from the wound, but it had little affect on the massive animal. The male nipped at the brachiosaurs front legs, while the other three attacked from behind. The female with a blue splotch on her side ripped away a large patch of flesh near the base of the tail, exposing the white bone beneath. The other three tyrannosaurs followed suit, each tearing away large amounts of flesh with their impressive jaws.
Then, they backed away. They spread out around the animal, ensuring it didn't escape.
The allosaur pack had witnessed the attack, abandoning their attempt on a male to finish off this weakened individual. They walked cautiously towards the Tyrannosaur pack and their intended feast, but the theropods had already caught their scent.
The male Albertosaurus turned and faced the sub- adult Allosaur, who was almost the same size as he. He growled ominously, but the Yangchuan lizard didn't back away. Her inexperience and adrenaline that was now coursing throughout her young body was about to start a bloodbath.
Without any sense of strategy, she charged the Tyrannosaur. He effectively side stepped, biting down on her back. He proceeded to shake her like a rag doll, tearing away at the vunerable back tissue.
As soon as this occured, the Alpha female Albertosaurus sprinted at the male Yangchuanosaurus. Her boxy head colliding with the allosaurs chest and throat. The attack sent the large theropod stumbling back.
The twomale Allosaurs focused on the smallest Tyrannosaur. They were upon her in seconds. Before the other female could assist, they had torn out the Albertosaurus' throat. She crumpled to the ground, dead before she fell.
Fueled by adrenaline, the other female charged the duo. She rammed into one, sending it to the rocky earth. His head split open with the impact.
The male Albertosaurus had about ripped the sub adult Yangchuanosaurus in half, the carcass now at his feet. He turned towards the alpha, was was circling the large male Yangchuanosaurus. Each took turns at mock charging, neither of them flinching. Neither of them backing down.
The male tyrannosaur walked towards the jousting pair of theropods, calculating his attack. He had no idea the remaining male Yangchuanosaurus had just snapped His pack mates neck, and was eyeing him from some thirty yards away.
The Alpha tyrannosaur had enough, and with a ground shaking roar, bull rushed the Allosaur. He side stepped, his jaw unhinging in the process. As the tyrannosaur went sprinting by, he brought his upper jaw down on her back. She almost collapsed under the blow, but remained steady on her feet. She turned around with suprising speed, snapping her jaws on the Yangchuanosaurus' snout with vice like pressure. He jerked away violently, taking the Tyrannosaur with him. She held fast, and the two danced around the rocky terrain engaged in a dance of life and death.
The other remaining Allosaur was now rushing at the male Albertosaurus. He anchored himself into the rocks, standing firm. The impressively sized theropod collided with him, fixing his long knife tipped arms around his sides. He struggled to get away from the grip, and he did. With the Allosaur shredding the area behind his shoulders and rendering one arm useless in the process. He slammed his skull down on his, sending a head splitting pain through his skull. A high pitched scream filled his head with tremendous pain. He went to bite the allosaur, but it was gone.
The attack came from the right. There was no sound.
A force like a run away freight train slammed the tyrannosaur to the ground, He struggled against it, and when he looked up, he saw the Allosaur was on top of him. Its claws digging into his flank and neck, ripping at the flesh. He braced himself for the inevitable killing bite, but it never came.
Instead, the air was filled with a blood curdling roar. The pressure came off of the Tyrannosaur, and from his prone position, he could see the alpha tyrannosaur was now standing feet away from he and the Yangchuanosaurus.
She Shrieked once more, shaking her head back and forth feverently. She snapped her jaws shut with tremendous force, and took a few bounding steps towards the allosaur. he backed away in terror, his head bowed in the characterstic form of submission. He could see her alpha lying motionless on the ground, and instinctively knew he had no chance against this massive creature. The only Allosaur left on its turned and fled, running back to where his pack once called home.
The Alpha Tyrannosaur lowered her snout to her fallen pack member. She nuzzled her blood stained muzzle to his, attempting to get him to his feet. With tremendous pain blossoming in his ribcage, he got to his feet. He took a few unsteady steps forward, but soon got the sensation of his feet back.
The downed allosaur from earlier had not gotten back up, but was still breathing shallowly. Seeing that the Lusotitan they had surrounded had long since dissapeared, they decided their rival would make a feast of its own. The Alpha took lurching steps towards the fallen creature, her injuries taking her toll on her as well. Without hesitation, she leaned down and ripped open the stomach cavity. Not a sound eminated from the Allosaur as she was eaten alive.
And the winner is...Albertosaurus with 2/4 left alive!

MemberCompsognathusJun-09-2014 4:39 AMNice fight. I was rooting for Albertosaurus as well.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberCompsognathusJun-09-2014 7:38 AMglad y'all liked it. Thought the pack fighting mentality would bring something new to the fight.
next up is Gorgosaurus vs Tuojiangosaurus
What happens when the speedy tyrant takes on the prehistoric porcupine? we're gonna find out tonight!

MemberCompsognathusJun-09-2014 10:26 PMMan, I have TERRIBLE luck in these fights...
The dinosaur I think is going to win, never wins. I haven't won a battle ONCE!
(Yes, I was rooting for Yangchuanosaurus in this one...)
"Its a Tyrannosaurus."
"I don't think so... It sounds bigger. It sounds like death; the destroyer of worlds...."

MemberCompsognathusJan-28-2015 5:34 AMthere is no way albertosaurus could beat anyone three meters longer than it, let alone four somebody'ssomebody's

MemberCompsognathusFeb-02-2015 10:23 AMhmm, yangchuanosaurus definetly wasn't 3 meters longer to begin with.
length isn't even a deciding factor in interspecific conflict anyway.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexFeb-02-2015 1:12 PMLength determines the victor of a fight like gender determines who can and cannot drive.
Ultimately, experience is the one of the largest factors. With enough experience and proper strategy, weight and length is but a number. Besides that, length is a bad method of determining size.
Tyrannosaurus Rex was generally around the 41-42 foot mark, and weighs in at about 7-8 tons. Spinosaurus (please don't kill me for this comparison) was about 50-55 feet long (correct me if I'm wrong), and weight is freaking everywhere (4-21+ tons), but tends to be put at about 6-7 tons (again correct me if I'm wrong). Despite being ten feet or better longer, Spinosaurus was lighter, therefore, smaller if you determine size by weight.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexFeb-02-2015 4:16 PMJust the same, looking back at that post, just because Spino is "smaller" doesn't mean it wouldn't stand a chance. It would actually have a fairly good shot depending on where the battle took place.
