Safety
Terrance and Thorn woke up several hours after the boats had arrived. They were in a new place. There were cement walls around them, and the room they were in was barely twice as wide as Terrance was long. Terrance wasn't sure of the surroundings, but he didn't feel like getting up to investigate.
The sound of a crane lowering something into the room got Terrance's attention, and he looked up and saw a dead Parasaurolophus. He stood up, and when he could reach, grabbed the corpse. He set it down and ripped it open, allowing Thorn to eat a little bit first. When Thorn ate her fill, Terrance finished the carcass, leaving nothing more than a few vertebrae.
A familiar voice got Terrance's attention after he lied down, and he looked at the source. Muldoon was talking to one of the men who had rescued him, and both were surprised to see Terrance. "I thought you shot him with that rocket launcher, Private." "I did. I don't know what happened. I watched him drop. He wasn't moving when I looked through the binoculars." "Then why is he alive?" "I don't know. It was a long range shot, I wouldn't be surprised if it was because there wasn't enough fuel to cause a large enough explosion to kill him. That, or he's one tough son of a bitch." "I wouldn't be surprised to find it was both."
Terrance stood up and walked up to the viewing window, and he looked Muldoon and the Private in the eye. The Private jumped back when he saw Terrance's face, and Muldoon laughed. "What's so funny?" You didn't kill him, but you blinded him in his left eye."
One of the vets walked to Muldoon and started talking to him. "Actually Mr. Muldoon, what happened is the blast nearly took out his left eye, and it's swollen shut at the moment." "How long until he can use that eye again?" "It was open when we found him, but the wound fades in and out." "So you're telling me that sometimes he's blind on his left side, and sometimes he's not?" "Yes, pretty much. He is pretty tough." "I know he's tough. Private, let's go somewhere else for now, I only came here to see the juvenile's condition, and she looks fine."
