Dilophosaurus vs. Monolophosaurus

Dilophosaurus wetherilli

Length: 20 feet (6 meters)
Weight: 1 ton
Era: Early Jurassic
Location: North America, Asia?

They are usually solitary or in mated pairs. The females are a light brown color to blend well with the surroundings and the males have a dark brown torso, limbs and tail which turn into a very dark red at the neck and then get's brighter towards the head, being the brightest at the crest. They have three fingers and a fourth, vestigial digit. Their legs are rather short with three toes and a fourth vestigial one. Their jaws are thin and not too strong, but due to their special form and the form and length of their teeth they are exceptional fishermen. They even rival some of the Spinosaurids on the island.

Monolophosaurus jiangi

Length: 20 feet (6 meters)
Weight: 1 ton
Location: Asia
Era: Mid Jurassic

These animals live in small packs of up to four members. Males and females look very similar, except for the crest, which is very small and brown on females and large and bright red on males. Males and females have a brown or green body (most times a mix of both) and one to three black stripes running across their torso almost all the way to the tip of their tail. They have strong arms with three fingers, each of which has long claws. They are very fast due to their long and muscular legs. Being a Megalosauroid they have strong jaws and long, muscular necks.

Fight!

A Monolophosaurus has recently been kicked out of his pack after unsuccesfully challenging the alpha male. He hasn't eaten anything for quite a while and could use a good meal. He has only recently reached adulthood and doesn't have a lot of experience yet, but he is very strong and has a lot of energy for the same reason.

He searches a forest for food. He knows that there are usually some herbivores at the river leading through it and if everything else fails he can at least try to catch some fish. It doesn't take him long until he reaches the river. He doesn't see any herbivores, but there is an old Dilophosaurus standing next to the river and catching fish. It probably has a lot more experience than him, but he's younger and therefore stronger when it comes to physical abilities.

He slowly walks up to the male and waits for the right moment to strike. The Dilophosaurus doesn't move at all until a small fish swims by. The Dilophosaurus instantly lunges towards it and catches it in his jaws. The Monolophosaurus now stands up and charges into the Dilophosaurus. The old male doesn't react quickly enough and falls into the river.

He tries to swim to the other side of the river, but the Monolophosaurus doesn't let him. He leaps onto the swimming Dilophosaurus. The Dilohposaurus is pushed underwater. The Monolophosaurus uses the panicking of the Dilophosaurus to his advantage and bites the dinosaur's arm. He wiggles around and jerks his head back and forth. After mere seconds he rips the Dilophosaurus' lower arm off.

The Dilophosaurus tries to scream, but the water silences it. He quickly turns around underwater and kicks the Monolophosaurus. The Megalosaurid falls backwards. For a few seconds his snout reaches out of the water and gives him time to breath. He dives back in as fast as he can and just in time to see the Dilophosaurus swimming towards him with surprising speed.

The Dilophosaurus rams him and then shoves his claws deep into the Monolophosaurus' body while biting down on it's neck. The Monolophosaurus lashes out with his right arm and slashes the Dilophosaurus' belly. The Dilophosaurus tries to scream, but only bubbles come out of his mouth.

And that's when he notices that he is in dire need of air. He rushes towards the surface. The Monolophosaurus sees that and swims at him, but since he isn't an experienced swimmer, he doesn't make it in time. The Dilophosaurus takes a deep breath and takes his chance to get out of the water. The Monolophosaurus doesn't like to fight underwater as well and follows the Dilophosaurus.

They both surface at about the same time and swim to the shore. They then take a few steps back from eachother and breath heavily. The river is to the left of the Dilophosaurus and the forest is to the right. The Monolophosaurus charges at him from the right, which means that probably want's to push him back in to the river. The Dilophosaurus jumps towards the forest and thinks that he will get a chance to counter attack any second now, but the Monolophosaurus had planned exactly that.

The Monolophosaurus originally wanted to jump to the left side of the Dilophosaurus and then shove him into the forest, but this way it was even easier. He quickly changed course and pushed the surprised Dilophosaurus into the forest. Then he head butted the Dilophosaurus as quickly as he could and knocked him into a tree.

The Dilophosaurus fell to the ground, almost unconscious. The Monolophosaurus tried to bite down on his neck, but the Dilophosaurus kicked him away in the last second. He was already too weak to seriously fight back, he could only annoy the Monolophosaurus. The Megalosauroid stomped on his leg and crushed it under his weight. Then he clamped down on the Dilophosaurus' neck. He whimpered silently and closed his eyes. The Monolophosaurus released the dead Dilophosaurus and roared as loud as he could.

Winner: Monolophosaurus jiangi

Nice fight. I was rooting for Monolophosaurus.

Great fight,was going for monolophosaurus.

And, I thought dilophosaurus was 1000-1500lbs. not a ton. I may be wrong though.

Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.

As far as I know it was .5-1 ton. But I use the max sizes in my fights most times (almost always). Thanks, I'm gonna try to get back into posting these regularly.

Estimates vary a bit. I've seen them as low as 800 pounds and as high as 2,500 pounds. I usually go between 1,000 and 2,000 pounds myself.
