Tarascosaurus is a genus of Abelisaurid that lived in the Cretaceous of France. at 28 feet long, it's a monster of an Abelisaur. Yet, it is sorely overlooked. This Abelisaur was featured in the mini sereis dinosaur planet and was portrayed as an apex predator on southern European islands.
"Tarascosarus" means 'Tarasque lizard'. The Abelisaur gets its name from the legendary dragon Tarasque that was said to inhabit spain and early France. It's arms, like other abelisaurs, were next to useless. This being said, Tarascosaurus was a vicious predator that took any thing it wanted. anything from the sauropod Ampelosaurus to dinosaur hatchlings. Tarascosaurus competed for food with Arcovenator, a fellow abelisaur, and the Dromaeosaur, Pyroraptor.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.
