MemberCompsognathusJan-30-2014 5:34 PMWelcome ladies and gentleman, to the end of season one! sit back, relax, and enjoy the fight!
Our first combatant...Suchomimus!
We saw him destroy Torvosaurus, then annihilate Becklespinax in the first and second rounds. Will the behemoth Spinosaur from Africa be able to pull out another win?
Length: 11 m
Height: 4 m
Weight 3 tons
Era: Early Cretaceous
Suchomimus looks like a crocodile on steroids. It spends the majprity of it's life in the shallow waters of isla Nublar, eating a variety of sharks and rays, and even the occasional crocodile. It has next to no competition, and because of this their numbers have exploded in recent years. They are somewhat social animals, especially when prey is plentiful. There has been as many as thirty of these spinosaurs on one stretch of beach. Suchomimus doesn't tolerate other spinosaurs for some odd reason, and they will even attack a large spinosaur if it intrudes on the Suchomimus' beach. These spinosaurs come in a pale green color, and sport a small yellow dewlap.
Our second competitor...Nothronychus!
We saw this monstrous bird with knives for fingers take out an onslaught of predators...Will it be strong enough to face the two blood thirsty theropods today?
Length: 4.5 m
Weight 1 ton
Height: 3.6 m
Era: Early Cretaceous
Nothronychus live in small family groups on Isla Nublar. Their family bonds are strong, and even the males rarely leave when they reach maturity. Females lead these groups, and are typically larger then males. Nothronychus is covered in a downy covering of feathers that range from sandy brown in color to pure white with black motteling. Older females develop a bright blue beak, the reason for this is unknown. They graze in the treetops during the daytime, but occasionally eat smaller animals and insects.
And last, but certainly not least...Ceratosaurus!
This tenacious animal has pulled out several suprising wins early in the season, will he best them all and become champion?
Length: 8.5 meters
Weight: 1.5 tons
Height: 3.25 meters
Era: Mid Jurassic
Ceratosaurs are like the modern honey badger. Quite ferocious, and will attack anything, even if it much larger. They live primarily on isla nublar, where they hunt stegosaurs and small hadrosaurs. They must constantl'sy fight to keep their kills. Torvosaurus and Giganotosaurus are its main rivals, and ceratosaurs have learned how to fight these much larger opponents. Their population isn't very large, and because of this they must pick and choose their battles. Ceratosaurs are green with red vertical stripes down the body, their horns - which give them their name- are brown in color.
Fight!
A female ceratosaurus stomps hungrily to a small lake. She hasn't eaten in days, not since she killed the stegosaurus. She had checked the carcass, but the flesh was rotten. She passed up on the decomposing animal and now surveyed the lake from behind a tree stump.
The Ceratosaur knew water meant food, and now hunkered down in anticipation. A large herd of Sauroposeidon lumbered from the nearby grove of hardwood trees and the Ceratosaurus just stared. This would be quite the meal, but they were far too large for her to tackle. She looked for a juvenile, but only found big sub adults. She didn't want to risk injuring herself, so she decided for more appropriate food to come along.
Hours passed, and only gargantuan sauropods had used the lake. Growing impatient, The Ceratosaurus moved onto the shoreline and scanned the horizon. Her poor eyesight targeted small blobs in the distance, and she decided to check it out. As she moved down the shore, she saw there were a few pacheycephalosaurs and ceratopsians drinking from the lake. Further out, and large Suchomimus was intently watching the water. She would deal with the intruder later.
The Ceratosaur looked towards the trees for easier prey. She was in luck, a small Nothronychus was grazing the shrubs near the ground. Licking her lips, the Ceratosaurus ran at the Therizinosaur at top speed. The alert Nothronychus heard approaching footsteps and turned at the last second. Her large claws grazed the side of the female Ceratosaurus' face. The Ceratosaur spun around to rethink her attack, when the Nothronychus pierced her foot long hand claws into the Ceratosaurs tail. Feeling every bit of pain, the Ceratosaurus turned and bellowed at the big herbivore. it was personal now.
With a low growl, the Ceratosaurus ran at the Nothronychus. Expecting this, the Therizinosaur swung her hand claws. The agile Ceratosaur ducked the blow, and her claws got imbedded into the tough tree bark. They hit the tree with a suprisingly loud sound, The Pacheycephalosaurs on the shore now stared at the fighting animals, but this also got the attention of something much larger.
The Nothronychus howled in distress as the Ceratosaur again approached. The hungry Ceratosaur surged at the now helpless therizinosaur. She ripped and tore at the Therizinosaurs feathers, causing massive bleeding. She was about to go in for the kill when a loud shriek caught her attention.
She turned and faced the source of the sound, the Suchomimus she had seen earlier. The spinosaur had come to investigate the loud banging and bellows he heard earlier, and now decided Therizinosaur would taste better then fish. The Ceratosaurus wasn't having any of this. She instinctively lunged at the huge Spinosaur, and the Suchomimius jumped to the side. The spinosaur raked his lethal hand claws on the side of the rampaging ceratosaur as it rushed passed. The Ceratosaur fell to the ground, screaming in pain.
The Spinosaur looked at the fallen Ceratosaurus, and advanced towards the Nothronychus. The Therizinosaur was now completly freaking out, having witnessed the small theropod brawl. Before she could fully free her claws from the tree, the Spinosaur attacked. The bit into her beck, his conical teeth sinking deep. He reached out with his hand claws, and grabbed the Therizinosaurs sides. He stepped forward and the Therizinosaur was released from the tree. He threw the Nothronychus to the ground, and was about to finish the herbivore off when a challenging roar echoed from the shoreline.
The Spinosaur turned and saw the Ceratosaur, now on its feet and mad as hell. With a blood curdling roar, it surged forward. The spinosaur was ready, and dug his feet into the damp sand. As the female Ceratosaurus got closer to the spinosaur, she pivoted. The Spinosaur dove forward, intending to take out the Ceratosaur with a neck bite. He bit down only on as air, and the Ceratosaur jumped on the Spinosaurs back. She attacked the muscle ridge, tearing it to shreds.
The Suchomimus stomped and shuddered, trying to get the attacking ceratosaurus off. Having done enough damage, the Ceratosaurus hopped off. The Suchomimus turned and shrieked at the Ceratosaur, thinking out a strategy. A low, wheezing ground got his attention, and When he turned to face the trees, He was shocked to see the huge claws of the Nothronychus. The claws tore into the Soft flesh of the Spinosaurs face, and the force sent it falling to the ground. The Nothronychus looked down pitifully at the Spinosaur, and turned towards the trees. The Ceratosaur wouldn't have it. She jumped on the retreating herbivore and tore her teeth into the soft brown feathers.
The Ceratosaur focused on the Therizinosaurs' neck. She bit down with all the force she could muster, and broke the Nothronychus' neck. The two animals froze, a moment in time, predator and prey interlocked in deadly conflict. The Nothronychus gave a soft squeaking sound, and crashed to the ground. The Ceratosaurus looked at the strange herbivore, then the now dead spinosaur. She had multiple deep wounds, but would be just fine. The female Ceratosaur looked into the sky, and gave a roar that shook the earth.
Season one Champion...Ceratosaurus!

MemberCompsognathusJan-31-2014 9:00 AMThis was one of the best fights of the season! I was rooting for ceratosaurus, one of my favorites. The fight itself was amazing, gotta say though I wanted the Ceratosaur to kill the Suchomimus, not the Nothronychus. But besides that, one of my favorite fights of the season!
:)

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
