Terrance's Story: New World Chapter 2

Sorry for the delay, couldn't log in this morning for some reason. Something Out Of The Ordinary When Terrance woke up, Thorn and the chicks were already awake, the chicks fighting, and Thorn watching. It was still early, and Terrance decided to go hunting once he was fully awake. He went off on his own while Thorn watched the chicks. Terrance walked for a few miles, and eventually came across the clearing where his parents were killed, he looked at the two skeletons that were still there, untouched since the day they were killed. Terrance looked at them for several minutes, unsure of what to do. After a while, he lowered his head, gave a long, quiet growl, and then continued the hunt. He came across the river where he usually hunted. As usual, there was a herd of Edmontosaurus drinking from the river. He decided on his target, and got into position. He slowly walked around the clearing, remaining hidden behind the tree line. When the opportunity came, Terrance charged his target, a full grown female that was already injured from a previous attack. He bit it's neck and killed it quickly, while the rest of the herd scattered. Terrance picked up his kill, and began walking toward the nest. When he got back, he set the kill down and the whole family ate. After they were finished, the chicks started looking around the nest. Thorn watched them, and Terrance went to sleep. He woke up a short time later, hearing thunder in the distance. There was thunder and lighting, but no rain. Terrance watched the lightning in the distance, thinking it was finally going to rain after a few months, but instead, the lightning hit a dead tree and ignited a forest fire. Terrance watched as the fire spread closer and closer to the nest, and he looked back at Thorn. She got the idea from the way he looked at her, and she growls for the chicks, and they follow Terrance to a waterfall. By the time they reached the waterfall, the fire had almost reached them. They walk into a cavern behind the waterfall, and the whole family barely fit inside it. Terrance remembered the cavern, it had saved his and Thorn's life multiple times while they were growing up.
