Does anyone else think that Metriacanthosurus could/should make an appearance in Jurassic Park 4? Personally I think that it should because it's name appeared in the scene were Nedry was stealing the embryos in the first movie. Not sure how legit this picture is, but Metri appears on here too. I know that Metriacanthosaurus isn't as catchy as Velociraptor or T-Rex, but I think it should appear at some point in the movie.

I can see that happening. I would like to see one of them make a small appearance, like the one of Dilophosaurus. Maybe killing somebody.

The picture is legit; I just watched Jurassic Park. I agree with you both, and I think Metri could very well be JackHorner's "terrifying" new dinosaur.

Especially if they re-use the "T-Rex is a scavenger" theory.

I hate that theory. Anyways, I think it's either going to be Metri or Carno "competing" for the role of minor predator with T-rex and Raptors maintaining their hold on the main predator spot.

Did anyone else notice Stegosaurus was misspelled? Also, by Metriacanthosaurus they meant Yangchuanosaurus because Yangchuanosaurus was at the time considered a species of Metriacanthosaurus.

I noticed that Stegosaurus was misspelled, and so was Tyrannosaurus. Yang or Metri, either would be cool.

Neither are big enough to fill the role as "super predator," but would make for a great minor one. MrHappy, I love that video. BTW, did anyone notice how they said T-rex may be the largest land predator ever? Score 1 for me, haha

Certainly a fearsome predator...

Yangchuanosaurus was heavier than Allosaurus fragilis, and just as long. If A would count as a super predator, then so would Y.

If Yang qualifies as a super predator, then it will still be minor in the movie, as T-Rex will be in the movie as well.

I guess it would be. But give them a pack and T. rex is dead.

Why is T-rex always getting killed in your scenarios? I still want to see some more pack hunting with the tyrannosaurs. Like in TLW.

It would be a good fight, and it is possible for T-Rex to win. I doubt that Spielberg would have Rex killed by a minor predator, or at all.

Okay, I would like to see a Spinosaurus get killed by a pack of Giganotosaurus. Nobody can complain that that isn't how it would have gone and Giganotosaurus pack would have been killed by Spino.

Oh, and to answer your question rex fan, the reason I have T. rex get killed is because it wouldn't stand a chance against large pack dinosaurs. I'm not a very big fan of T. rex either. Of course I'm not very big on Spino too.

I think one Giga would give Spino a lot of trouble, let alone two or three. Anyone else remember my one idea with the Spino pair, with one getting killed by a pack of 3 Giga, the other running away.

I'm not talking about 2-3 Giganotosaurus, I'm talking about a sauropod killing 6-7.

Then nothing would stand a chance. Lets focus on the intention of this discussion, Metriacanthosaurus/Yanchuanosaurus in Jurassic Park 4.

Well let's leave our biased opinions of which dinosaur is our favorite out of this shall we? That goes for everyone. Trevorrow and Spielberg would never let T-rex get killed by a predator smaller than it. Spino was controversial enough. Even though a pack of Yangs/Metris are deadly, the general public would be even more miffed if they see something smaller than T-rex kill a T-rex. The disliked Spino for it, but at least Spino was in the same size class as T-rex. Metri/Yang are like what, half the weight, of T-rex? Get my point?
