RAPTOR-401 and SVANYA - Ugh! I had no idea National Geographic and Discovery were producing such nonsense! I greatly enjoy documentaries concerning extinct and mythological creatures; however, to dress such shows up as "reality" is quite strange. It feels almost as if both entities are lacking for new content. Hmm...I shall certainly think upon this quite heavily. Even so, I thank you both for bringing this information to my attention! :)

So glad to ead another one of your posts! I agree with it for the most part. If I may share my qucik opinnion? I don't like arguements and never really spoke out becuase it'd always end that way. But here goes...

I always stood by Spino, but ever since he wlked on all fours...eh...

Now I love T-Rex but to me, he's not the largest (from my knowledge and beliefs) 

I Stand by Carcharodontosaurus as the largest. Followed by Giganotosaurus, then  T-Rex and then Spino.

But really they all loose to the Indominus Rex! (Joke she's not real sadly)

For years, it was thought the domain of the tyrannosaurs was restricted to the northern hemisphere. Killers like T.rex, Tarbosaurus, and Eotyrannus illustrating a range from North America, to Asia, and also Europe. However, it was assumed these tyrants never reached the south. Until now.

Recent analysis places another group of theropods, the megaraptora, under the tyrannosaur umbrella as tyrannosauroids. Though not very closely related to the more derived tyrannosaurs like Tyrannosaurus and Albertosaurus, they are still technically members of the family as a whole. This discovery extends the range of the tyrannosaurs much further than previously thought. Now it can be said they stalked the continents of South America and Australia, as well as the lands of the north. Also, given the similarity between species found in the south, I would not be surprised if any megaraptorids are also discovered in Africa.

Not only does this extend the range of tyrannosaurs to the south, but it brings giants like Siats and deadly killers like Australovenator into the tyrannosaur family.

The reign of the tyrannosaurs was truly global...

More primitive tyrannosauroids like Megaraptor hunted in the south...

While more derived species like Daspletosaurus terrorized the north...

As far as Siats goes, Zanno and Makovicky placed it in the megaraptora in 2013.

Nice list, i thought for years that Megaraptor and it's kind were Allosaurs, like Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus...... Nice to see Tyrannosaurus in south, but it might not be as Powerful as The Abelisaurid or Allosaurid of the South. but to be sure, how the hell did Tyrannosaurus gets to south america ?? are they theory's.

Keep in mind the megaraptora represent primitive tyrannosauroids and could have radiated south before Pangea seperated the whole way(island hopping and such).

And originally, Megaraptor was only known by the large claws. However, based on the discovery of a front limb and it's cousin Austrolavenator, scientists have been able to piece it together. Then, in 2014, they described a juvenile specimen...

Hm. Never knew Megaraptor was a tyrannosaur.

Forum signatures are always so hard to come up with...

I also ead that Pratt, Simpkins and Bryce are confirmed. I strongly believe we'll see BD Wong, Omar Sy and Nick Robinson again. I'd like to see Jake Johnson but can't seem to see how he'd fit. I'd like for Sam Neil or Jeff Goldblum to return. Maybe working to stop a problem on the main land, while the others are on the island with the dinos. Just my thoughts and hopes :)

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are obvious to return.

Not so sure about Jake Johnson, I don't know how his role would fit into JW2.

I understand why other people want to see Sam Neill and/or Jeff Goldblum return (and the little kid fan in me does too), but again, I don't see how they'd have a big role like in JP and TLW.  Give them small roles if they do appear, like Owen going to Grant's/Malcolm' house to ask him for advice, kind of like what Joe Pesci's role was in The Good Shepherd.

Cool list, sometimes I do wonder if there is a predator larger than these si out there, waiting to be discovered, in the ground somewhere...

Svanya is right, I remember watching the Mermaid "documentary" and thinking the whole time of who let that honest BS get on live TV and being presented as fact, and to my surprise so many fell for it. I mean none of the "scientists" there were even real scientists; they were just actors.

Although to be fair for the Dragon documentary, it did say the creature never existed, though it still was annoying to see they did it.

This is one of the documenaties that made me lose faith, they did a mocumentary like the megalodon and the mermaids one from Discovery only its with dragons. Basically saying they were real...

I remember getting little books from this. I haven't seen or read it in a while but this is quite a shock. I agree with Something Real. Now that it's owned by a new company lets hope they help it and not the opposite.

SVANYA - I am shocked! I have not seen the television presentations in quite some time. The knowledge that it has begun to decline is deeply displeasing; it should have remained informative and filled with beautiful imagery. Regardless, I feel we should keep our chins up! :)

Nat Geo is already garbage, have you watched it recently? Half of what they show now is psudo science reality tv nonsense, has been for awhile. It's only going to get worse now that Fox owns it. Shame really, when I was little it was the best science based nature book/ magazine and tv show. One of the first things I read on my own was their hard cover series for kids about science and nature. :(

LOPSQUID - Oh, it will be okay! National Geographic is present to show us the wonders of the world - to amaze us with the beauty that surrounds us each and every day! That is the definitve nature of NatGeo. It will not change - can not change. I am certain that we will continue to have many wonderful and awe-inspiring presentations from them in the future, regardless of the network to which they are linked! :)
