Makaveli7Dinosaurs ForumT-rex and Speed
Almost all dinosaurs had honeycomb bones. I think T. rex could pick up speed very fast but couldn't maintain it long. Hadrosaurs, which were undoubtably faster, probably couldn't pick up speed fast but could run faster (~30-35 mph). I think Tyrannosaurus would have been a great ambush hunter.

Troodon is most likely but Carnotaurus is far more awesome. Remember, this is Jack Horner's idea of scary so I don't think it will be a new T-Rex.

Oh, and I found out that Tyrannosaurus had "honeycomb" structures in it's bones. This would have forced air out so it always had a fresh supply, similar to the raptors. Also, if dinosaurs were warm-blooded, which I think they are, T-rex would have been pretty active and likely had a 4 chambered heart like crocodiles and birds, their closest living relatives.

I don't know, T-rex was the most advanced tyrannosaur. If it's earlier cousins had it, it's close relatives the raptors, and the more primitive carcharodontosaurs, it seems strange that T-rex did not. The carcharodontosaurs were also giant predators like T-rex. The same size class.

Not bad. That could work for other large sea predators like Liopleurodon or Mosasaurus.

I've though of a way you could have Megalodon. It is a plane crash, they are off the coast of Isla Nublar. A woman sees a large dorsal fin and yells shark! The other people turn to look, the the fin has gone under. Then the megalodon comes from one side and bites a huge chunk of the raft the people are in.

Here's an awesome way to introduce Giganotosaurus. Giga vs Brachio! Giga fought giant herbivores and Brachio was a giant herbivore! Get some predator prey interaction.

I'm not sure. It had a lot to do with the bones. T. rex had thick, solid bones, not good for letting air through. I think some of the rexes could have a pretty good air flow system, but T. rex himself, I don't think so.

I saw that too. For one thing, the tyrannosaurs were pretty closely related to the raptors. The more primitive carcharodontosaurs, as mentioned in Planet Dinosaur, had very efficient breathing strategies. T-rex, a more advanced predator than the carcharodontosaurs and close relative of raptors, would have had a pretty good breathing system too.

I need raptors, T. rex would be really nice. Spino or Baryonyx would help make it a great movie. Giganotosaurus would be awsome. Id love to see Dilophosaurus. And a bunch of herbivores too.

Rex Fan, even a rex of 7 tons would need a lot of oxygen to fuel its large and bulkie body. The thing is, rex doesn't have a respitory system to do that. A T. rex would néed to breath in and out, instead of a raptor, who has a design to only need to breath in and the air flow leaves its body through its hollow bones and openings in be skin. This is from jurassic fight club by the way.

True, but who says it's prey was not fast. Triceratops could probably charge like a rhino. Maybe as fast as 20 miles per hour or so. Hadrosaurs could probably move pretty fast on two legs if they had to as well.

Thing is though, it only needed to be faster than what it ate.

I agree that T-Rex and the Velociraptors should return, for new dinos, either Carnotaurus or Troodon.

I'm all for Tyrannosaurus rex. The raptors are classic too and need to be included. I don't think they'll include it, but I would love to see Ceratosaurus get some more screen time.

I wouldn't mind a marine creature like a Leopluradon or Mosasaur to join the franchise, it's new and different, JP3 took to the skies with the Pteranadons, only fair to go to the seas. As far as scary dinosaurs go, either Troodon or Carnotaurus would be cool to see.

Those are interesting ideas, but I'd rather not have marine creatures.

That is entirely possible. What if both were included in the movie, thy both attack the people, and then they work togather to get the people, and then Rex steps in front of the people and they stop, and so do Metri and Yang. At that point, one of the characters (if only Malcolm was in the movie), could say "Looks we're between a rock and a hard place."* Then they run for Rex, who completely ignores then and fights Metri and Yang. Insert awesome fight here with epic T-Rex roar as rescue helicopters fly past and Jurassic Park theme blaring. *Something funnier could be said, just a baseline.

It's possible. But less likely, kinda like the redone Raptor or Rex. Not really new, just different looking. It's more likely that it's something completely new, but Dilo is still possible.

I don't really have an argument for the sail, but size and location, yes. Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and numerous other dinosaurs have different sizes and localities. Allosaurus for example ranges from less than 26 ft to 36-40 ft. Ceratosaurus can be found as small as 16 ft and as large as 23. And the same dinosaur species have been found in different places. Allosaurus fragillis in N. America, Africa, and possibly Europe and Allosaurus maximus in N. America and maybe Europe. Get what I mean?

Wait, how come everyone seems to diss Dilophosaurus as a possibility?

Perhaps the dino is not "new", but fiercer and scarier than before. A more terrifying Velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus for example. My Guesses Are... Metriacanthosaurus Toodon Carnotaurus Liopleurodon

Then I'll give you something to think about and then say. There is a few reasons why I think yang is not Metri. One, Metri has a small frill like the one of Acrocanthosaurus. Two, they live in completly different areas. Three, they have very different sizes. Y is up to 35 feet long while Metri is around 26-30. Maybe Y shangyouensis us a Metri, but y magnus is a Yangchuanosaurus.

That would be really cool. Alright, we have to keep on commenting on this if we want it to be the most commented on post on jp4. We're currently in forth place, and we need 56 comments to go up. Who's with me?!

Dude... isn't there anything original in there? No offense, but all your characters are taken from either Sayles' JP4 script, TLW book, or JP: the game. And the story sounds a bit too much like the one I wrote and posted in June: http://www.jurassicpark4-movie.com/community/forums/topic/25376

I saw the 3rd one when I was little, it was the first one I saw. It has less of a story, but cooler dinosaurs and action sequences than the other two.

That would be cool. I'd like to visit the late Cretaceous in N. America, obvious reasons, but also late Jurassic N. America. I wanna see a fight between Ceratosaurus and Allosaurus.

It probably would. I really want to build a time machine and go back in time. Mostly to feed my sister to a Dilophosaurus to find out if it is poisonous, but I would also go to see the Ekrixinatosaurus fight the Giganotosaurus.

The way dinosaurs fought is debatable. If T-rex had the chance to grab the Yang by the face, I'm sure it would take it. But yes, the more likely way would be grabbing the neck and breaking it.

DeltadromeusJurassic World ForumMetriacanthosaurus in Jurassic Park 4
I think that a T. rex wouldn't kill the yang like that. It would have grabbed it by the neck and shook it around. Its many ton bite force would easily sink his six inch teeth deep.

If Rex vs Metri/Yang should appear in JP 4, they would probably make Yang/Metri slightly bigger than in real life. Knowing them. Here's the fight with a slightly bigger Yang/Metri...

Unfortunately not. I have thought of a cool app to have. Yu type in something, say, a Giganotosaurus walks forwards, and then an animation of a Giganotosaurus walking forwards appears. That would be a good CGI thing.
