Spinosaurus at its max (roughly 56 feet in length and around 12 tons) would win. Although it was a piscivorous animal, that does not mean that its jaws were weak at all. They were, in fact, really strong and quite resistant to both lateral and dorsal forces; they were very dense, especically compared to the jaws of carnosaurs. At length parity, however, tyrannosaurus wins for obvious reasons.
Proportions and size both determine skull length. Size as a whole does not do so, but that in conjunction with head-body proportions does. An example would be a similarly-sized carcharodontosaurus and tyrannosaurus; the allosaur would have a much larger skull.
Right, but you where sadeter body size deteremains skull length, and that's not exactly true either. Partially true, but not 100% spot on.
Maybe just extinct fish would suffice, but it would be cool to see a fully operational aquarium, plus, this is 22 years into the future, I think its past 2015 by the time the movie comes out.
I totally agree with you and they would have no purpose, they would be boring
I wasn\'t talking about proportions; I was talking about an animal having a larger skull due to larger size. Giganotosaurus and carcharodontosaurus had paritcularly longer skulls proportionally than tyrannosaurus and spinosaurus, but that does not mean a bigger spinoaurid or tyrannosaurid will have a smaller skull. That is what I meant. Size does not determine proportions
It's all a matter of if they do it right. I personally am against marine reptiles in the film, but it could be interesting.
I'd love to see a T. rex, a Dilo, Spino make an appearance. Troodon terrorizes. Main danger raptors. A pair of Yangchuanosaurus as like a competitor for Rexy, and it would be awesome to see some pterosaurs. Oh, and a marine exhibit. Along with many herbivores.
Let me think a bit here. Hmm,
the survivors, at the launch pad, hear at he rescue helicopter coming. They cheer, until a roar splits the air. A Yangchuanosaurus emerges, here to kill them. The yang runs at them and is about too kill someone when it is intercepted by a T. rex. The Tyrannosaur had headbutted its size, and pushes it to a tree. Another yang comes out and attack the T. rex. The Yangchuanosaurus double team the tyrannosaur, but the T. rex finally kills both of them, and the helicopter lands. Actually, after the heli takes off, the t rex kills the second yang, and then gives a mighty iconic roar. Credits. That would be awesome!
Godzillasaurus, T. rex did have one of the biggest haeads proportionately. Spino did have a longer skull, but Size doesn't determine the animal's skull length. Take Giganotosaurus. It probable had a head of 6 feet while 46 feet long, but Spinosaurus only had a head of 7 feet at 60 feet long. 1 foot difference head, 15 foot difference body. There isn't that big of a jump with T. rex. Its skull is about 5-6 feet long, at 42 feet. Only one foot difference with three feet difference.
i very much would like to see the dilophosaurus and i dont really care for troodon so ill make that my dont want
Tyrannosaurus did not necessarily have an oversized skull, just a very heavily-built skull. Spinosaurus actually had the longer skull of the two, although it was much shallower and thinner dorsally. I am talking about when spinosaurus is larger than tyrannosaurus, of course, as skull lengths are determined by an animal's size and head-body proportions.
Not all spinosaurs were necessarily massive. Only spinosaurus truly attained large sizes (compared to most other large theropods). All other spinosaurs grew to smaller sizes than the largest tyrannosaurids and carcharodontosaurids. The only truly "large" spinosaur was spinosaurus, that is the bottom line, and that is all that needs to be said.
@Deltadromeus, spinosaurus was not necessarily light. It was lightly-built, but it still was not light per-se. Spinosaurus, despite being a generalized piscivore, was actually quite bulky, especially in comparison to baryonichines, which were quite gracile.
@futurepaleontologist1, are you by chance Charcarodon from Carnivora? Tyrannosaurus was most definitely a predator by all means. Remember, allosaurs were no longer the dominant terrestrial predators, and they were replaced by large tyrannosaurids. There were no other terrestrial macropredators around during the very late Cretaceous, which is why it is illogical to believe that tyrannosaurus was not a hunter itself. A longer femur in comparison to tibia? I have never heard that before about tyrannosaurus, and i fail to see what relevance that has here; tyrannosaurus had very powerful legs and was likely faster than a lot of people claim. Poor eyesight? I have also never heard that before. In fact, it appears that tyrannosaurids, with their acute binocular vision, had actually relatively good eyesight. Binocular vision is also a perfect adaptation for hunting.
And, just in case you want to bring up the weaponry argument, tyrannosaurid jaws and teeth were specialized at crushing, yes. BUT that does not mean they were scavengers overall. Crushing dentition can, very well, be used to damage the neck or spine of a prey animal.
Good chapter. Man, those two things are really unstoppable! Good work!
Sounds good, as MrHappy said. Althought I already knew about this tweet, is still a great info! Can't wait for the film!
I'd like to see all dinosaurs featured so far. I want to see T-rex returning as the king, Velociraptors as the main antagonists (Rex's the king, not the main villain), and perhaps Troodon as trouble-makers. I'd like to see a bunch of herbivores, but I'd love to see a Ceratosaurus too. So at last, it would be cool if they include pteranodons and a marine reptile too.
No, you want to see marine reptiles in JW, right? I want to see a few big scenes with the Monster of Aramberri/ "Liopleurodon". Make troodon the new villain dino, but keep the t-rex and the raptors. Give carnotaurus a big action sequence or two, as well. And give the spino a cameo. For herbivores, use the brachiosaur, the trike, and both kinds of hadrosaurs (parasaur & corythosaur), as well as a big ankylosaur scene and a stegosaur scene, too. Bring in the pteranodons, both kinds, too.
I would like either a JPOG 2 or a game where you can fight with dinosaurs or a fre roaming survival game. I would probably want it on an Xbox or PlayStation3. And, I would love it to have an addicting gameplay and good narrative.
Sounds good. Can't wait for the movie
I personally want a battle. Two Yangchuanosaurus, velociraptors as the main threatmany super smart. A T. rex, and a beautiful, well made setting. Oh, and I want to feel the power of these dinosaurs. it so that you can tell that these are big powerful creatures who can and will cause carnage.
By that I mean we got our xbox long after launch date, and supposedly they had fixed all the bugs
Maybe its because you have the newest model.
My Xbox controller always works unless its low on battery. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Well mine broke becase apparently my copy of Ridge Racer 6 was broken, and the screen said my system was now unplayable. Happened again with a different Xbox. Thats why I stick to Sony and Nintendo, mostly Nintendo though. But now that I think of it, A handheld Jurassic World game would be cool and fun, if done right.
I have one from 6 years, and runs perfectly! It had the red ring of death once, but I repaired it.
That would be cool Delta. Rex killing two Yangchus and saving the survivors
I've had mine for almost a year and only recently had problems. Microsoft decided to be an ass and not let my little brother into his account.
I don't think it'll be another majot fight in JW. The experience from JP3 is enough.
Yes to a fight, no to T. rex or Spino or Giga. Well, maybe at the end T. rex saving the people and giving them time to get in the helicopter against two Yangchuanosaurus and killing them.
Personally, I wouldn't want on an Xbox system, and its NOT because I am a "fanboy" or whatever you are going to call me, its because Xbox consoles break easily, and everyone says it too that all of the XBox consoles break for no good reason.
Hmm, a second JPOG, Xbox, PC, PS4. or, a game where you are a staff at JW, and its kinda like a free roam, but its not exactly. Same device.
We'll still die in a great way. ;)
Cool.
That's a shame, and yes, I have noticed that :)
You're on now, and as long as you still come back and comment every so often, it's fine. What pisses me off is: 6 minutes online, 2 posts. Crap like that.
And defo 360. Forgot to mention consoles.
Nice, more proof that we are all domed to die from a T. rex breakout.
I will be sure to where my JURASSIC PARK shirt when I what JW.
Its too a ad that people dont stick around. Actually, I havent been on much lately, so I guess I kinda count.
I completely forgot about OG. That would be awesome to have.
I'd love to play either JPOG 2, or a new, free-roaming survival. I'd play it online on XBOX360.
It could be interesting. Am FPS online game mode would be sweet.
