CarnosaurDinosaurs ForumPFG round 1 fight 5: Albertosaurus vs Becklespinax

haha, that's what i meant, i've sorta got a couple in mind after the finale ( which is coming in a few days)

The second season is mainly gonna be large theropods, so whatever i don't use for bonus fights...i will use in season 2 :) Tarbo vs Acro is a good one.

Bonus fights are more for when the series is over. So, after the finale. That out of the way, how about Acrocanthosaurus vs Torvosaurus or Tarbosaurus (I'll be rooting for Tarbo).

Good fight, but I was rooting for Albertosaurus. Oh well, still good, and I understand the winner.

Yeah, there weren't any dinosaurs around 300 million years ago. They first appeared about 230 million years ago.

You do a great job with these fights and finally one of my picks won. The Becklespinax.

sure, i could see somethin like this:

those arms probably didn't get as much blood flow to them as the rest of the body. on the head sure, for display or maybe to retain body heat. Sure tyrannosaurus is a big animal, but during a cold winter it would probably need as much warmth as it could get

GodzillasaurusDinosaurs ForumCarcharodontosaurus-Spinosaurus relationship
Quote: Godzillasaurus, nearly all the evidence for spinosaurs diet(powerful jaws or not) points to a diet of primarily fish. ---And.?.?.? The fish that spinosaurus killed were actually pretty big and powerful. There is no reason to believe that spinosaurus or the fish that it killed were weak Quote: And with claws over a foot long and backed by muscular arms, why wouldn\\\'t Spinosaurus use it\\\'s arms and claws in combat a lot? ---Because they were designed for fishing most of all. Quote: Carcharodontosaurus(and it\\\'s cousins overall) was a definite big game hunter. It\\\'s close relatives have left their bite marks on the bones of other large dinosaurs(Allosaurus bite marks on Camarasaurus bones for example), so I feel confident in saying that they had teeth and jaws that worked just fine when it came to taking on big game... ---Did you not read my post? Of course allosaurs were well designed for taking down large animals; that was they were adapted to do in the first place. But they were horribly adapted for gripping as evidenced by their lightly-constructed snouts and laterally-compressed dentition that possessed serrations best designed to be used with backward pulling. Allosaur bite marks may have been found on the bones of various herbivorous genera, but it was also poorly adapted for crushing bone. Spinosaurus, on the other hand, had a far more robust and heavily-constructed snout overall than those belonging to allosaurs that was far better designed for withstanding the pressures experienced by gripping.

i'm not exactly sure what the 'FBR format' is.. To be quite honest, i just started typing. I thought about adding what time period they were from....but i figured most of you guys might have known that

Theres about 300 million years seperating the two of them, so they wouldnt ever confront...

Most likely for slashing, Run up below its prey, slash open the belly "Maybe here, or here, across the belly, spilling out your intestiens, the point is, your alive, when they begin to eat you..." - Alan Grant

It would seem logical, If sloths could move faster they'd slash their prey (scary as hell) But It would have to travel in packs maybe...

Thats nice, I like the sort of FBR styled formant your using, Just as a tip, to give this your own spice, why dont you include which time their from aswell? like the Creatousus?

(I've not a problem with the FBR style, I think its rather nice in the hands of another writer at times, But I do ask you add your own style to it, Spice it up some)

other then my judgementalness to style, This is well done, (tips hat to you) Good job...

The lost world was rather excellent, it explored malcolms character a lot more, which went was well missed in the first film as it was more about alan...

I cant say much for the third film, it wasnt really my favourite, it had a good storyline, I just didnt like it... Maybe because Spielburg didnt write it...

I hope collin can pick up the torch and restrore the franchises name....

RaptoRex, you had a T-rex lose to a Kaprosuchus! So frankly, I don't wanna hear you talk about accurate outcomes in fights.

Usually Large predators avoid each other so I doubt that there will be a confrontation between the two. but it's a 50/50 chance

I love how you used "human" emotions for the dinosaurs, i always theorized that certain, more advanced animals, like the T.Rex for example, would've shown primitive emotions, resembling emotions that are only associated with humans

Those arms were probably used as hooks, helping the dinosaur catching the ants and termits out of their nest, as diet. Most dinosaurs of this clade, had only one finger, but there are some cases where some species had two: a small, almost unnoticeable one, and the other hook-clawed.

O.k I think the arms use to have muscle inside them but in the evolutionary chain the muscle transfer to T-Rex's jaws giving it more biting power  making it having the strongest bite of any dinosaur!

I saw it in the book and do noticed the small arms and they have 1 claw on each claw. But they can be useful for defending itself.

I think I like the Jurassic park survival game it looks very cool with better grphics just you yourself survive plus it sounds like the raptor's roar sounds very familiar but I can't put my finger on it

I've heard of this thing somewhere. I know palaeontologists had an explanation of what it did with those arms, but I'm not sure at the moment.

Elite Raptor 007Dinosaurs ForumWhy Spinosaurus Wins

i actually agree with Sci-Fi King25. Spino doesn't always win, in certain cases the Rex can Also Win, in the forest the T-Rex has advantages. the forest is thick so a spino probably will tangled over the branches and T - Rex could easyly crush it skull. in open field the Spino have more advantage. the open field makes a lot of spaces. so the spino have plenty room to make an escape of T-Rex bite, and kill the Rex.

and you dont write about the BearDog Statistic, aren't you

Reply
Elite Raptor 007Dinosaurs ForumMammal Clash: Mongolian BearDog vs. Indricotherium

I can't say that the Indricothere lose, because a chance of a bear-dog win is very small. probably if the opponent was a Hyaenodon the chances of indricothere lose is slightly bigger. because mongolian Bear-Dog is at the early evolution so will probably smaller than the other at U.S.A.

Elite Raptor 007Dinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus Rex- Hunter or Scavenger

I'd Say i will agree on Rex Fan and MrHappy. T-Rex could Scavenge if they lucky enough to find any carcass that has't been halfly eaten by another predator. probably they more of a hunter. those head is using for crush prey because some prey havinf a deep pile of meat. so a weak jaw would'nt acctually puncture it. so that's why the rex have a massive head
