This is some good stuff right here, great work Mr. Happy.
I don't know what you're talk'n abou, this is as good a chapter as the ones I've read so far.
Scenario one:
I quickly bust the casing off of the flares and throw all (four, now broken) flares anywhere around the jeep. I then quickly jump ( Land outside of the jeep), Take the shot gun, bust a part of the firing mechanisim off, and fire. The firing of the gun ignites the black powder, setting the jeep on fire. Hiding behind the jeep, I unload on the rex. (Theres no way a shot gun could stop a rex, Even with enough cartridges to match its weight). Angering it more, the bull charges. I combat roll away from the jeep, The rex takes himself and the jeep over the edge. The rex, having millions of years of eveloution over the car with a mere 150, Survives the fall, With one last carefully positioned shot, The (Now exposed from the fall) gas tank explodes, killing the rex ikn a burst of fire an blood...
(I do not recommend this if you are being charged at by a rex)
Scenario 2:
I simply put the car into Drive and floor it. The rex who was charging needs enough run way to come to a halt, He doesn't have enough time, And falls into the rocks.
(I recommend this, Wait until the rex is closer though, If you go too early, he will simply pick your car up, and throw you over the edge...)
Scenario 3:
Drive directly at the rex... No one ever said that kamikazees were not sucessful. Go as fast as you can and aim for a leg. If your lucky, you will catch his leg off balance, thus toppling him over. If your not lucky, Your car will crash into his leg, Breaking the engine block, and barely harming the rex, From there he will most likely kick you over the edge.
(ten out of ten I do not recommend)
Scenario 4:
Drive off the cliff...
Just accept that you got yourself into this situation and that its your fault your fucked...
Have a nice day :)
Well how 'bout that, dinos did have compasion. I'm beginning to enjoy this story more and more, thank you M.r Happy. Keep it up! :)
Quadruple post...
double post..
it's interesting for sure, but i don't think these smaller theropods would go out of their way to attack larger ones, such as an allosaurus attacking a full grown torvosaurus. Not only is the megalosaurid stronger, it's....well...bigger
A prime example of this is the big cats and other animals of Africa. We don't see the wild dog, a fiesty little animal, going around and attacking the lions. Nor do the hyenas. But if a lion sees a hyena pup, it will kill it. Gets rid of competition. Same goes for the hyena. It all boils down to competition, and eliminating future threats.
Even male lions that take over a pride, will kill the cubs of the dominant male. They won't even eat them in most cases, just kill with a quick bite to the neck...then leave them for the scavengers.
Heh, double post.
Nice. I should post more of these.
Scenario 1,
First, I would take the flaregun, shoot it (if I have flares) where to Rex could see it and hopefully he would go after while I take the rope, flashlight, and shotgun with me as I repel done the cliff side to the bottom.
Scenario 2,
If that doesn't work I would the flaregun shoot it (if I have two flares) into the eye and then the mouth to distract it andI would again repel done the cliff with shotgun and flashlight.
Scenario 3,
I would take the shotgun (if I have ammo) and shot him in both eyes and again repel down the cliffside.
Thanks.
Also, as a side note...
Carnosaur, I'm kinda surprised you excluded UCMP 118742. Just something I noticed. I thought that would've been something important that should be taken into account. A 16 year old T. rex already as big as Sue is quite something afterall. Nothing against the post itself. I just thought you'd include it :)
Seems completely legit. I can say I agree with this.
I agree with Rex fan. T-Rex is the king of the dinosaurs in my opinion. They were trying their best in JP3 but they should have never let de Spino kill the T-Rex.
I know. This wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I'm just saying MrHappy and I can't go stickying every topic someone thinks might be worth it. There are times where it is worth it. But as Ian Malcom said, "You wield that power like a kid that just found his dad's gun." We can't be that kid ;)
Yours explanation proves to be very reasonable.
I also think that maybe the tyrannosaurids and abelisaurids had different breeding habits than the carcharodontosaurids. Perhaps they cared for their young for a longer period of time, or layed more eggs, or watched over the nest more frequently, or any combination of the three.
Entirely possible. Probably the best explanation yet to the Tyrannosaur's success.
Huh, interesting. Maybe it had a similar relationship with Gorgosaurus like the one seen in Tyrannosaurus and Nanotyrannus.
Have read about this recently, and it is interesting to keep discovering new dinosaurs.
What makes me wonder is the size of the prey it hunted. It was small, and did live during the reign of Gorgosaurus 70 million years ago.
I thloguht that this should be stickied because it has unbiased and accurate information on all of the Big 4. So it's a lot more effective than stickying 4 indepedent posts. (and there have been at least two posts on every single member of the Big 4)
Thanks. The first picture still doesn't work, but the other one is still cool.
Should be working now. If not, here's another...

PS- In the size comparison, it's letter A
Cool, I like artic Dinosaurs. On the size comparison which is the Nanuqsaurus?Rex Fan the first picture isn't showing up.
That's cool. I'm very interested when it comes to arctic and anctartic dinosaurs.
Who am I kidding, I am interested about all dinosaurs. :D
As a side note, please don't go crazy asking us to sticky things for you guys. I know some of these posts can be important, cool, and what have you, but we can't go to nuts with this.
Thanks
I agree with most of Rex Fan's weights as well.
Stickied it for you guys.
Cool. A new discovery is always exciting, especially when it's a new tyrannosaur.
Based on the length and height(6-7 meters long and 2-2.5 meters tall) I'd estimate this individual at least 1 ton. If it is a young one, an adult would probably be 8 meters long and about 2 tons in weight.
Here are some pics I found...

Cool. So basically, it's large, but compared to other Tyrannosaurs, it's adorable. I'd imagine that thing would have a coating of feathers too, which would add to the things overall cuteness. Until it ripped you from limb to limb and ate you alive that is.
Also, not all injuries are bite marks. For example, Big Al is covered in broken, but healed bones.
Also, face to face biting in theropods is often thought to be territorial and aggression.

all i have to say is thank you. Thank you for bringing this forward, i've been observing the last few days..i could tell a war was probably cooming on..hopefully people see this and realize it's pointless...I second the motion of sticky-ing this, like UCMP said.
And RexFan...i agree with your weights for the most part
I guess my "issue" is how a Carcharodontosaurus can be 13 meters long and 15 tons(according to some) and a T. rex is only 12 meters long and 9 tons at most. A meter difference should not create that big of a weight difference, especially when T. rex is a particularly robust and heavily built animal.
These Are My Official Sizes For Some Of The Largest Theropods(Same On My Site)
Tyrannosaurus
13-15 meters long and 8-14 tons
Spinosaurus
14-17 meters long and 5-8 tons
Giganotosaurus
12-14 meters long and 6-8.5 tons
Carcharodontosaurus
11-12 meters long and 5-7 tons
Mapusaurus
10-12 meters long and 3-5 tons
Tyrannotitan
11-12 meters long and 5-6 tons
Acrocanthosaurus
10-12 meters long and 3-5 tons
Tarbosaurus
10-12 meters long and 5-6 tons
Suchomimus
10-11 meters long and 3-3.5 tons
Saurophaganax
9-12 meters long and 3-4 tons
Ekrixinatosaurus
10-11 meters long and 3-4 tons
Good job M.r Happy, everyone thinks it's funny.
while i don't agree with that all the way, i like you posted your opinion.i also posted the weight study that spino weighed in that range, and while i don't agree with it..mainly because spinosaurs were light weight animals....ithey're the professionals. I'm the guys with a laptop who just has a passion :)
Great chapter, can't wait for the next one. :)
I agree with almost everything you've posted, except spino's wieght. I put Spino's weight at 11-14.5 tons, Rex's at 8-9 tons, Carchara at 8-8.9 tons, and Giga at 8-8.6.
Oh, sorry, my bad. Well, spino probably ate dinos that size.
