I miss dealtadromeus and ucmp and all those guys:(
I saw this forum about a month before I joined and u read a fights posted by people like deltadromes, UCMP and I got to see one fight from the great Dinofights. I was to nervous to join and didn't no how but I swore I would join before jurrassic world comes out. Next weeks I joined.
I joined the godzilla forums in 2012 i heard back in 2008 a godzilla movie whas coming in 2009 but then it got daealided to 2012 when i googled for news if it whas still beeing made i stumbled oupon scified, i started beeing here in the JW forums after the godzilla movie came out and the forum started to become less active
Saurophaganx, though I personally consider Epanterias to be the same as Allosaurus, so it doesn't exist for me. That's besides the point though.
I'd also say that Saurophaganax is bigger, but not by too much.
Havana funny meme rex fan. And ultra predator you changed your name!!
They mean the movie Tyrranotitan...
Anyways, I don't like Monsters Resurrected nor do I like Valley of the T.rex(though I must say the design for the Rex in Valley of the T.rex was kind of cool).
How do you guys not like BBC walking with the dinosaurs?
i think they are about the same size they could how ever grow bigger do to the fact that reptile grow threw outh there life
I'd say Saurophaganax is bigger, but not by too much.
I'd say. Saurophaganax. It appears to be overall a slightly larger animal.
P.S here are my sizes for the two.
sauro
length: 35-40 feet
Weight: 3.5-5 tons
Epanteris
length: 34-38 feet long
weight: 3-4.5 tons.
These are just my estimates though.
I would ge tout of the way of the apadosaur heard because more or likly predator are staucking near by i would us the laser pointer an dput it on my shotgun and i would find smaller prey that would be taken down with one shot and drag the carcaus of the smaller dinosaur into my shelter and hope to god no large predator followed the senet trail of the dead dinosaur then i would have a nice day then think about how i survived
Tyrranotitan it is an ultra predator a creatur ei made up for this story there is a post about a year old that is call what is and ultra predator it should explain it
This may just be my opinion but i liked animal armageddon it was one of my favorite documentaries along with Alien planet the worst dinosaur docemntry i have to say later because i forgot what is called but i have the dvd
Off topic, but that's the paper i showed you guys
:D
In all seriousness, the only allosaurs with a possibly strong bite force are A. Amplexus and Saurophaganax maximus., which rpobably had a bite force of 2 or so tons(Carcharodontosaurus and Giganotosaurus had a bite force of 3 tons, quite reasonable to have those Allosaurs at 2 tons.)
But, as i've reiterated many times here, Allosaurus didn't need a high bite force, as it had "flesh grazing" dentition, in other words it just sheared the meat off its prey. The axe head was cited as not being needed in the "muscle powered bite of Allosaurus"
Skip down to "Further interpretations with the hatcheting interpretation"
In short, The neck muscles of Allosaurus would have needed to act like a person weilding a weapon, something not observed in todays extant predators, nor does the neck design anchor anything close to muscle ligerature. Why would A. Fragilis have a killing technique unknown in any other animal?
"Because it had a bite weaker then a lions" you may be saying aloud.
False.
In that study(Rayfield 2001), the lion isn't even mentioned! Panthera leo is the scientific name, now look at the end results of that paper.

The closest thing they have to the lion is the tiger (Panthera Tigris) which had a bite roughly ~910 kg(2,006 lbs/ 1 ton)
A bite weaker then a lion's was merely a media invention.
I would run 20 percent of the distance, or until I found a predator that could distract the group. Then using my laser pointer, I would point it in the predator's eye to distract it (ammo is too valuable on the island) Once the predator is heading my way, I lead him on until he and the sauropod group come into sight, and when the two are distracted I make my escape.
I heard that you can turn the narration off on the DVD though. Coming from someone who still has not seen it...would that save it or not?
I have, as Mr. Happy said, two rounds in the gun and eight in my pocket. I quickly climb up a giant tree, and sit perched in the leaaves hidden from site. I shot the alpha in the head and he, hopefully, falls down and trips at least five of them. I then shoot the the remaining four in the head and leaving five left. The Apatosaurs are all in a jumbled mess, so I attach the laser pointer to the gun with some vines in the tree. I take aim and kill the rest. I head back to my shelter and get my knife, go back to the Apatosaurs and start carving one of them up.
These are pretty bad. The Walking with Dinosaurs was also very bad. The dialogue was bad, the story line was bad, but the visuals were great. Sci-Fi King25, you are so lucky I only saw the Arena Spectacular once, I wish I could see it again, it was so awesome.
I saw the Arena Spectacular twice.
I own the series on DVD.
I still despise the movie. I could count everything wrong with that abomnidation.
I'd shoot as many as I can with the gun, starting with the alpha, and then distract the survivors with the laser pointer.
Well, considering I'd never walk around with an empty gun, that's 2 rounds in the gun, and an extra 8 rounds. Assuming the rounds are 00 Buckshot, and given the barrels on that shotgun look to be about 28 inches long, the Apatosaurs picked the wrong fight. Keep shooting them in the head until the survivors give up. Assuming they'd give up after 5 or so are dead, that five more rounds for defence against predators, and there's a buffet to keep them distracted.
Take out the Alpha with the shotgun. Then run like hell to the twety percent part. Look back and flash a laser pointer in one Of their eyes, hopeful making them trip, fall, and break their legs. Then take out as many apatosaurus using the shotgun. Then use the laser pointer to trip the last apatosaurus. After they are all dead, or on the ground, injured, I will rip pieces of the flesh off and bring it toward the shelter. Walking back with the job done
Thanks Allotitan!
Good episode, can't wait do the next one
Rooting for Nanotyrannus, but expecting Baryonyx to win. Amazing fight anyway
Don't know. How about you provide a study for your claims.
First I'd shoot the apatosaurus in the front of the heard in the head. As it's body falls tripping up the rest of the Aparosaurs I would run into the nearby jungle, then use the laser pointer to distract the Aparosaurs to go in the other direction and then when they leave eat my meal.
When wass this study conducted?
shoot the largest Apatosaurus in the head. Then point lesser away from myself to distract the herd, then run back to my shelter. If that doesn't work I'm just going to take out as many of those bastards as I can.
Yes they did...
heres one of MANY studies

The true walking with dinosaur was awesome and truly was my childhood.
Turn to the side and duck for cover. Then shoot a dryosaurus with the gun then distract any predator that comes by with the laser pointer.
Well allosaurus didn't have a bite weaker then a lions.
I don't think you can consider that a documentary... More like a children's spin-off version of one of the greatest dinosaur documentaries ever created.
SP, no it hasn't been disproven. Allosaurids in general have weak bites and weake skulls. And don't bother bringing the hatchet bite into this as, that has mo solid evidence to back it up.
