You know what, to break the tie, im just gonna side with Torvo, it was larger and probably pretty strong, another thing is that it was also agile for its size.
For the species T. Gurneyi, I see what you meant.
And i too have agree with this being very, very close..
I highly dougth it will be in the film it seems more like a maquete, but still preety cool, but scince it has feathers and JW is suposed not to have feathered dinos i have dougths
Ehhh... ive stated this before, i hate the idea of feathers... ANY feathers. But, on the side of the coloration, i think its got a pretty neat distribution of colors.
Oh boy... Very tough decision... im gonna have to say a bit of a 50-50 chance in this one Carno, Maaayyyybe a little bit more of an edge for Zhuch, maaaaybe a little bit more of an edge for Torvo, im kinda stumped on this one lol.
When I said maximum, I meant the 5 ton maximum stated in the post. Ah well. For the Tyrannosaur vs Megalosaur at parity, it could really go either way, and I'd actually expect it to be 50-50 to 51-49 in either's favour, but, not that it's a surprise, I'm a little biased in a Tyrannosaur's favour. Quote me on that, I don't care.
Maximum size for Torvosaurus would be in the ballpark of 7-8 tons if we take into account Edmarka. Zhuchengtyrannus, by guesstimate only, would have a maximum weight of 6-6.5 tons. I'd give the edge to Torvo at parity and maximum sizes, though it'd be something like 55-45.
Saltwater croc male average: 4.3 meters; 550 lbs
African Lion male Average: 1.86 meters; 386 lbs
Saltwater croc male maximum: 6.7 meters; 1.2 tons
African male lion maximum: 2.4 meters; 418 lbs
African lions are more robust at parity sizes, yet the Crocodile weighs more. and at maximum sizes, it completely blows the lion out of the water. And that's simply due in part to it's semiaquatic adaptations, such as the lacking of marrow cavities in the bones, Densely packed bones, etc.
Saltwater crocs are a good analogy for Spinosaurus because of jaw morphology and the "barrel chest" they're given with their recurved ribs. But i'll bite..
the average male gharial( false gharial as well) is ~2.8 meters in length, and has a weight of 1,100 lbs, which is large by crocodilian standards.
Your upscaling is a little bit off, not by much, but still there's a percentage of error there.
Scaling the 2.8 meter male False Gharial yields ~7.389 tons(7.4 rounding up) You appear to be underestimating the size of this gharial species. As for your caiman comparison..
Caiman species, despite common belief, can be quite large. Spectacled caiman average 2.5meters in length...and a maximum length for a big male would be 3.2 meters. The Black caiman, the largest species alive today, rivals the size of the Saltwater crocodile, with big adults easily surpassing 5 meters. So that croc upscaling i did up there ^ would be rather similar.
So, even with that small discrepancy, A spinosaurus of equal size would weigh in the ballpark of 9-11 tons.
never read prehistoric times so i dont really know how to compare them
Yeah, I seriously dought this is the D-rex/I-rex. I see a rex like this in every issue of Prehistoric Times.
I don't know, but I'd sau 55-45% Zhucheng
At the maximum weights, I'd say about 55-45 in Zhucheng's favour. At the minimum, I'd say about 60-40 Torvo G's favour. They are similar in terms of overall build, so at parity, neither has the weight or strength advantage, though Zhucheng was likely a tad more intelligent. However, at the minimums, that half ton difference would be quite a game changer.
I have serious doubt that this is going to be for JW.
But, like said before me, it's freakin' awesome!
Trevorrow probably tightened down on leakable info after we got a pretty decent idea of what the D-rex was, and the plot of the movie; both feature he wanted to keep quiet until closer to the release date.
I really dig that rex design though, maybe for the one in JW would resemble it..somewhat
Looks... Interesting. Lets Investigate!
JP Franchise has been known to do Photo Shoots with the Props, As for concept and marketing. They usually just do it in a studio, Or on a Soundstage.
The White backdrop behind the Foilage could lead to it being in a Studio. The head seems... Well, D-Rex enough. There truly isn't enough here to fully conclude it as anything really. I find something interesting though, Why is it's eyes Round... And not Slitted?
It's definitley got a Different Head build then the rex has. We also Already have the Rexes Head build, Thus, Crossing off this being a rex.
This could be D-rex... That guy has his head in it's jaws, So, It's not an Offical photo...
My conclusion, Is that the Picture is too Inconclusive to actually classify it as
D-rex
It might not even have anything to do with JW...
Who knows.
Not sure if it's legit or not, but it's still coo. It looks likes it could be a D. Rex...
Here's the image.

That...... Is freaking......... Awesome.
I hope it's legit
i have know idea. whatever it is it looks amazing and i hope its apart of jurassic world too. its even got quills on its head and that color is epic
I was litreally just going to post this, you beat me to it! I personally hope this is in Juarssic World but it looks doubtful :(
Yes, it does resemble a gahrial. But the body/skull doesn't.
Thanks spread the word! hope u enjoy them.
A podcast is basically just a chat broadcast. similar to when u listen to ppl being interviewed on radio stations.
Its a popular thing at the moment. there is an excellent Jurassic world podcast on itunes podcasts. They discuss everything that has happened so far released about jurassic world.
My podcasts are episodes starting with episode 1 being jurassic park 1;
we discuss the movie character relations, we have movie trivia, hidden things on screen that are unnoticed. some comedy piss take moments.
We are attemting to record episode three ; JP3 in the near future. This is going to be a fun episode. as the film is not particularly popular :)
The actual snout. You have to admit there is a resemblance. The entire skull, no, but the snouts, yes.
CARNOSAUR - This is an extremely interesting topic! I greatly enjoyed the amount of detail you placed into your work! Thank you ever so much for sharing this with us! :)
JP CARNOTAUR - That was a very fun chapter! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! :)
ALLOTITAN and MYSTIQUE - What an excellent battle; very fun to read! Thank you both for taking the time to share this with us! :)
TYRANT KING - Yeah! They did it so they could build Transformers! ;)
MYSTIQUE - Hahaha! That Monsters Resurrected episode was completely ridiculous! I remember watching it when it first aired and thinking "Wow! That is completely baseless conjecture applied to a Hollywood monster!". :)
Worst for me is the theory of aliens from outer space having planet Earth as the PERFECT place to land the extraterrestial creatures on this planet...
see, I'm wrong constantly today.
TK, It wasn't me. I believe @Evan123 wrote the Dreadnoughtus article.
(He also has a Godzilla Atomic Breath profile pic, so I understand how he could've been mistaken for me.)
rexsTrex a have strong cardiovascular systems.
Nice fight! Short but sweet! I was rooting for the Archillobator pack, but I'm happy Spino won.
JRR, just saying, but by that logic, pretty much any large carnivore has a weak cardiovascular system.
id say the thoery of Trex having week cardiovascular System is quite posible given that it woould need many leeters of blood per second to achive high speeds, but this could be negated due to posibly Trex beeing like A cheatah, fast for short distance speed but needing to rest if the hunt got to prolongated
while the worst theory is the one of Dinos beeing crushed by there weigth
it was. I am wrong about everything today.

Well then TK, the next fight will be better than great.
Thanks, help is always appreciated Allotitan.
