We should work together on it! I have a really cool idea!
Hartman's MUPCv-ch1 has actually got a 1.54 m skull, wich is almost the same as 1.53 m though. I did my own calculations and I came up with similar results (~12~13 m) but, according to Canale et. al, Tyrannotitan paratype's femur is ~1.41 m long, wich is very close to ~1.4 m though.
No, I have not.
Is it one YOU made?
Have you posted it to a webpage first?
Right? Maybe I should write it? What do you think?
I put the picture there, but it won't show up. This is really frustrating me right now, hold on...
Let him post it first. It's ok lord of dpino, this is why I never lost pics.
I totally agree with the estimations and data!
Nothing there?
@Gojira,
WOAH. That sounds really freaking cool!
This great and all and I agree but shouldnt you being doing this for acroanthosaurs?
Hold on, this is supposed to be picture. Just wait a little bit an I'll get it up...
Sorry, double post.
I do think the T-Rex and the D-Rex will fight in JW. Here's how I think it will happen:
I think that soon after the D-Rex escapes she encounter the T-Rex and they will fight. The D-Rex will win, supposeably killing the T-Rex.
Later the D-Eex will try to eat Gray. Just as he is about to eat Gray, BAM, the T-Rex smashes into the D-Rex, saving Gray. A battle then ensues leaving the T-Rex as the winner, ending the battle with her signature roar, like at the end of Jurassic Park.
I dunno but, it seems pretty cool to me.
Of course. It certainly doesn't have to be that interesting to you. I can't make you like it. I'm just defending it. People at work always say that ts boring or over-used, so they don't like it and I'm sick of it. You are not doing that, its just a touchy topic. I don't think you should think it's the most interesting animal in the world or anything, but I just want you to understand that it is as interesing from a fact-wise perspective as any other dinosaur. Thinking that another is more interesting is an opinion. Knowing and respecting and still enjoying the animal for all of its interesting qualities is the greatest thing I want from people. THAT type of mindset is what makes a good paleontologist or zoologist, or anything else dealing with the wonderful thing that is Nature, living or extinct. ;)
I have tried to, but still I find it uninteresting COMPARED to other dinosaurs. is what I mean. Sounds interesting but doesn't really increase my interest for that particular dinosaur. I know it was very dangerous, I know it had the strongest bite force and whatnot, excellent vision, but still can't seem to find interest with it.
I don't think it would be bigger than Spinosaurs at average sizes, but I could most certainly be wrong.
Hope you understand.
^I thought that was the scified JW twitter?
My point is that you should at least try to reignite interest. It doesn't have to be your favorite beast, but it is amazing and iconic in its own right. Just because we know a bit about it, does not make it "uninteresting." To be honest, my favorite a year ago was Giganotosaurus. I too thought that the Tyrannosaur wasn't interesting any more. But then I started working at the museum and my boss told me all these studies based around Tyrannosaurus. It probably had the strongest bite force, EVER. Its intelligence may have been comparable to a wolf's based on its brain shape compared to a parrot's. It may have ran anywhere from 15-30 mph. Its sense of smell was the 2nd best of all dinosaurs and in the top 10 of all time. Its eyesight was better than a hawk or eagle. Even it's "little" arms were INCREDIBLY powerful. And, it is competing with Spinosaurus for biggest theropod and land-predator. Uninteresting?

I THINK NOT!
Well I wasn't at all tyring to be rude. Sorry but I have an opinion- I think it's just simple, boring. I'm sorry but I don't find anything really interesting. I damn well respect the animal, as with all creatures, extinct or not. I don't hate the JP Universe, I know the logo is a T-Rex, I mean a company would use the most famous dinosaur on their logo. In reality, the velociraptors are the most iconic of the series.
My opinion is no where near hating Rex- It's just an uninterest, if that's even a word. Sorry if my opinion offends you but there's nothing you can really do about it, to be honest.
(Sorry for responding late was on vacation.)
Are people really this upset by it having 4 fingers? I love the design, and really hope this is legit.
@Carnosaur
Don't be so worried.
Colins not a fool.
If you noticed, On the same page that Supposedly "Features" Rexy, Theirs another Drawing above it, That doesn't have any scars...
So, Perhaps maybe it's just Concept art.
Do remember, Its a very large area that they're keeping Rexy in, So I'd say that there's way more then just her in there... If she's even in there...
It's her, according to the JW twitter feed:
@GigaDino
A valiant point...
But again... We have to factor in the Genetic Tampering Hammond Did. I understand that these Dinosaurs NORMALLY, Matured at a Third of the Rate of Humans, But what if hammond sped that up?
Again, The book mentioned they attained adult hood in 5 years... Maybe it's the Captivity and Engineering that Alters it?
ALSO... Maybe Hammond had also Been "Experimenting" Before the park even started...
Which would make rexy Incredibly old, So I think we could probably cross that off...
So now we have it narrowed down to Genetic Engineering and Captivity that has allowed her to attain said size in just Five years.
The Ingen Field Guide Unfortunately Neglects to mention what Hammond tampered with, And the Rate of Maturity for their dinosaurs...
So, It's got to be the Engineering and Captivity...
With Regular Supplements of Food and Such, A dinosaur could grow to maturity at an Excelerated Rate. Plus, Ingen does mention that they fed them Sheep Supplements that Caused DX in the book, But that was dropped in Movie cannon.
The engineering most likely extened it's lifespan the best it could, But Genetics isn't a full proof thing. Ingen would want a Product that attained Adulthood Quickly, And maintained a long life. After a couple attempts on Site B They could've definately gotten it Right...
So, Final conclusion:
Due to the Genetic Engineering and Captivity, The T-rex on Site A would most likely have been able to live to an Estimated age of 40 Years, With the current age of 27 Years or More.
Personally I like idea of trained raptors. I feel like the previous films (especially the third) have been hinting at this for some time.
"Smarter than dolphins" definitely seems to imply that they could be trained, and since it places them at least on par with crows and starlings (the smartest animals nigh humans outside of JP canon) it means that they would be capable of learning and completing very complex tasks, just as their feathered equivalents do in real life.
I think it would be interesting to have some sort of protests or some such against keeping captive raptors. It could bring in some of the focus on animal abuse as a result of owning genetic codes that was touched on in the second novel.
It's one of the ugliest thing I've ever seen. As Cau stated, it looks more like to a parody, rather than to a reboot.
I was aware that Hammond started building the park 5 years before than the first film, but that's strange if you ask me. A 5 years-old Tyrannosaurus would be less than 1 ton! Not even near to Rexy. Plus, a such juvenile animal would look much different from a fully grown one:
![]()
Bear in mind that the small one was 11-years old, wich means that it was even older than 5. Look at Rexy:

Do you think that its skull look like a juvenile's?
Is anyone else confused as to why they have both Baryonyx and Suchomimus? It seems like a waste of time and money to me.
I agree with both PADEN and ALPHADINO65 on this fully!
I still believe none of this applies, it's Hollywood, I'm pretty sure it is Rexy and maybe they have new forms of treatment for her "old age" in the new park as you mentioned, either way this film will kiss ass :D
Paden, I think that's the best explanation we have for how the original Rex can be in the movie.
Masrani is still under the illusion that they are in control. But they will pay dearly...
WAAAAAIIIT Hold your horses just for a second.
Following Novel cannon, The Island had been under construction for 5+ Years... Not twenty...
Rexy can't be anymore then 5 or less Years old in the Events of Jurassic park-- Assuming she's still at a Juvinile Size (Or phasing out of it in the film) Makes more sense then Rexy being 50+ Years old.
(Plus the book did mention something about them attaining Adult hood in five years or less)
Lets say, Rexy was Hatched in, 1988, Thus giving her an Age of 5 Years when the park fails.
And then we add The Twenty Two Years inbetween films, And Voila! Rexy is a total of 27 years old. Meaning she's MOST LIKELY Near death... However, Taking into account how These have been Tampered the hell with, I'd give her 5-10 more years.
So a total Life span of an Ingen Rex would be... Forty-Ish Years....
Impressive.

It looks like it might fit in the one next to Apatosaurus.
I like the idea for "trained" raptors, especially given the danger factor. This seems like the next step in research on animals, because they are so intelligent. It's the human desire of curiosity and control that brought this on, and I fully understand why.
Evan, remember that I said physiologically. It applies to her being what should be 20 years old in 1993.
