Just like ANKYBEATSALL2498 says, pterodactyl is an aka name for pteranodon, dimorphodon and other pterosaurs for people that still think dinosaurs are big green godzilla-like monsters
A study shows that all stiff-tailed dinosaurs had at least some tail movement.
I got Udanoceratops, aka big head

and gigantspinosaurus (yes, that's the name)

I recently watched a miniseries that expanded/updated the old Walking with Dinosaurs series. It presented a unique view of Spinosaurus:
Spino was bipedal, with large, powerful arms and claws good for grabbing and ripping. Spino primarily ate fish, and hunted by wading out into a stream and lowering its snout partway underwater. Its high nostrils allowed it to maintain this pose, the pressure-sensitive organs would alert Spino to prey (read: 10 ft fish), and its conical teeth were excellent for grabbing fish (but not slicing flesh or crushing bone). Spino would haul the fish out of the water, and use its arms and claws to rip up the fish so it could eat it. (check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTzfaY2kx0U)
While I understand people may not like the theory that Spino was a fish-eater, its anatomy really supports the theory. Also, fossils of Spino jaws with fish barbs have been excavated.
^Don't bother with the list. There's about fifteen not counting the junior synonyms and nomen dubiums.
AWESOME JOB! Looking forward to the rest.
Tyrannosaurus and other coelurosaurs may have had the ability to hold the tail higher while running, to create a lower center of gravity (allowing quicker turns.)
T. rex may have had the strongest bite ever.
Triceratops likely had a coat of quills on its butt.
Stegosaurus most likely could have done a lot of the tail movements from Fantasia and the old Lost World (and or King Kong) based on a new study. :)
Many theropods (if not all) could not fully pronate their wrists like we can. That means that all their movie representations of their arm positioning are wrong.
Triceratops was the only large ceratopsian that had it's frill built to act as armour, since there were no fenestrae in the frill; the frill was solid like a shield. All other large ceratopsians (ex. Torosaurus, Pachrhinosaurus, and Titanoceratops) had frills with two large holes in the frill, which were most likely filled with soft connective tissue.
*Note: this fact was made assuming that Torosaurus and Triceratops weren't actually the same animal at different stages of life.
Nice cliffhanger at the end! This looks like it's going to be a great series. :)
I'm sure you are, they seme fun to write.
You'll find out in chapter 8.
Thanks. I'm having a good time writing these chapters.
Why is Zach useless.
and this is very nicely written, I like this.
yea. i have begun to despise anybody who says pterodactyl or brontosaurus, because then they just don't know anything. PterodactylUS is cool and pretty big, but i like hatzegopteryx the most. then comes quetzalcoatlus.
i want to see spinosaurus vs triceratops
TYRANT KING - That makes me feel much better! Thank you! :)
GOJIRA2K - That is exceptionally neat! I really like the detail this gentlemen has placed into his work! Thank you so very much for presenting this to us! :)
Spino! for the reasons wrotten above but I really liked him as a kid,way before JP 3, when I got my first spino toy(I didnt knew it's name), I liked his design, his uniqueness and his size :)
I also like raptors(any kind) and Carnotaurus
microraptor
because it looks really cool
If we use animal examples(mongoose vs snake, bear vs wolves etc) then it's ok, but I cant imagine a group of titans to jump like a cat to avoid injuries :D
Still a great fight though ;)
5 people voted so far, and T.rex v Triceratops is currently winning. If more than 10 people will vote T.rex vs Triceratops, the pool will finish and I'll write the fight.
Great fight and well written as always, I love both creatures, was rooting for spino didn't get the result I wanted still great though ! :D
Nice work!
And BIONICZILLAFAN04 i KNOW YOU SAID SORRY AND WE ALL EXCEPT IT :)
Dam caps lock! Just don't do it again, enough said we are all friends!
Read that fight! It's great!!!!
I am still of the opinnion of theI-Rex most of the time, and I think she is heavier, but in theovie we will get what I want, Rexy kicking ass!
^I agree!
@LORD VADER Said it perfectly for me.
You did not say sny that would offend anyone.
CARNOSAUR - I hope it is not me. It would upset me greatly if I knew I had made a statement that would cause you to think less of me. :(
a few comments made by certain people are just beyond stupid. blunt honest truth.
Bonus! Was already planning on watching FF7, so all the more reason.
My bad. Sorry. Everyone makes mistakes.
LORD VADER - All is well. BIONICZILLAFAN04 apologized; we can let bygones be bygones. I still very much enjoyed your battle; it was extremely neat! I have read it three times now! :)
Unlikely that 20 people will vote, but I'm voting Rex vs Trike. Rooting for Rex.
You hate me? Each to their own. You're the first to flat out say it. Your honesty is appreciated.
Wasn't aware that I hate Spinosaurus.
I've seen it before where people said that a pack of Utahraptor would defeat a T-Rex because Rex wouldn't be able to score a hit. Why couldn't this fight go the same way? People complain T-Rex defeats a smaller creature (Allosaurus for example) because "T-Rex always wins". People bitch when Spino loses and make the assumption that I "hate Spinosaurus". I like Spinosaurus just as much as the next guy.
Figured I would get hate for this. Ah well, doesn't hurt to shake things up once in a while.
Now then, I have a request. Follow the link provided, read the fight, then reevaluate your opinion of me.

DANIELOSAURUS - Oh, WOW! This is extremely compelling news! Thank you ever so much for finding and sharing this with us! :)
this... i don't know what to say. It was well written, but i completely disagree with the result. it was like spino didn't even try to fight back except for a few charges. But given spino's new form, it more or less would have lost. just not so easily.
TYRANT KING - Ooh! That would be a great fight! :)
BIONICZILLAFAN04 - It is perfectly alright! Please, understand that no one here wants to argue - we just want to have fun! I have only the highest regard for you and everyone else on this site. As such, I want to enjoy conversations with you and the others in a calm and civil manner. I have great doubt that anyone would want to engage in a verbal altercation with you; what good would that bring? We all enjoy these ancient animals, so let us talk about and celebrate them - not argue over them like goofballs! :)
