MemberCompsognathusFeb-19-2015 5:44 AMIt's clear that the winner of my pool is "T.rex v Triceratops". All the 5 people who voted voted Triceratops, and 3 out of 5 people voted Tyrannosaurus, so I decided to write the fight even if only 6 people voted. Allright, let's meet the contestants:
Tyrannosaurus
Female
Lenght: 12 m
Weight: 7.5 t
Height: 3.3 m
Triceratops
Male
Lenght: 8.7 m
Weight: 9.8 t
Height: 2.9 m
Cretaceous, 66 mya North America
A Triceratops is nibbling on a plain. This specimen is a large, 9.8 t male. The rest of this specimen's herd left the plain, but since this specimen was nibbling, he didn't notice that. So he remained alone. That's a great occasion for predators. In fact, when there are a lot of Triceratops, preying upon them is quite hard; but now this specimen is alone. A big, female T.rex noticed that. This specimen is very big, and she needs some food for her babies. Even though this Triceratops is alone, the predator knows very well that he can be dangerous even without his herd. But there were no prey around, and T.rex is hungry. So she decided to attack the dangerous herbivore.
Triceratops noticed the giant predator, so he decided to display his frill, with his 3, very long horns. T.rex was scared by that sight, but she was too hungry to escape. Since T.rex didn't give up, Triceratops decided to attack the coelurosaur. He started running toward T.rex, but the latter luckily avoided the giant herbivore. However, Triceratops stopped and restarted running toward the coelurosaur, and this time T.rex decided to stop the Ceratopsid. When Triceratops got close enough, T.rex bite his neck, managing to stop him. Triceratops lost some blood, and he freed from T.rex and he tried to escape, because losing more blood would have been fatal for Triceratops. Tyrannosaurus had to eat something, so he started chasing the herbivore. Tyrannosaurus was much faster than the herbivore though. When Triceratops realized T.rex was about to catch him, he decided to attack her again. He turned and he restarted running. Tyrannosaurus saw the big herbivore who was running toward her, but she managed to bite his neck again. Unfortunately, not only she didn't bite his neck, but she even got injuried by a Triceratops' horn on her belly. What a painful wound! A normal Tyrannosaurus would have given up; but this Tyrannosaurus is too hungry to give up. Even though she lost some blood, T.rex kept attacking Triceratops. The latter noticed that T.rex didn't give up as he expected. Triceratops, then , decided to run toward the carnivore to kill her definitely. T.rex saw the large herbivore running toward her, so she decided to do a smart move: she started running and, when Triceratops would have been close enough, she would have bite his neck, trying to avoid his large horns.
Triceratops was about to hit T.rex, when the latter jumped and avoided the Ornitischian. The confused Ceratopsid stopped to restart running toward T.rex, but the faster carnivore, before the herbivore could do anything, bite his belly and ripped some flesh off. Triceratops bellowed. He lost a lot of blood, but he wasn't died yet. He noticed that Tyrannosaurus was returning to kill him definitely. When Tyrannosaurus was about to bite his belly again, Triceratops turned and ran through T.rex's head with his horns. T.rex rorared for the last time in her life. The deadless body of the carnivore fell at the ground, while Triceratops started walking toward his herd, in order to reach it.
However, T.rex did some serious injuries on Triceratops' body, so the herbivore died 2 hours later.
Winner: Parity
I hope you enjoyed this short fight.

I say Trike won because he not only scored the first kill, he likely killed off the chicks as well (you never specified if she had a mate, so safe to assume no).

MemberCompsognathusFeb-19-2015 4:24 PMThank you for writing this. Triceratops probably won most fights it was in so this is extremly likely.
Hope you write more of these!

MemberCompsognathusFeb-19-2015 6:01 PMGood fight!
This fight is always tricky mainly because they were so equally matched. The results were most likely 50/50 every time. They negated all of each other's weapons and defenses. It was like an evolutionary rock-paper-scissors.
