Poor delta, what were they thinking. The only way I could think of them attacking a sauropod is if it was a juvinile.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
I do have to admit that it is biased in Giganotosaurus's favor, but I do think it is possible.
Replyfuturepaleontologist1Dinosaurs ForumA T-rex with FeathersJul 21, 2013
In the east however it got very cold at night due to the Earth's tilt. A Velociraptor needed feathers so it didn't freeze to death in it's sleep
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
If we're talking opinions here, then these are mine,
1: Giganotosaurus, 50 long, 20 tall, 9 tons
2: T. rex, 42 ( I will believe 45) long, 16-17 tall, 10 tons
3: Spino, 60 long, head 20 sail 27, 8 tons

Same. I think Rex vs Spino is enough, but should anymore teams come, let's keep it to team Raptor.
ReplyEustreptospondylusDinosaurs ForumA T-rex with FeathersJul 21, 2013
I agree with rex fan I think that the feathers would mostly be on the infants and juveniles and be lost towards adulthood. Or possibly just much more lightly plumed

The teams on the JP 4 forum for Rex and Spino is because of the controversy created in JP 3. Tree is going to be team Raptor soon though, and I hope there isn't a new team after that (I was against team Raptor).
Why didn't you post this in the JP 4 forum?

To demonstrate my opinion on T-rex and feathers...
Least likely

I will say, the second one is still very fierce looking even with the feathers. If they were to give Tyrannosaurus feathers, that's what I'd wanna see.

I'm sure many, if not all, agree that Spinosaurus was truly a unique and giant predator.

Replytheslendernugget846Dinosaurs Forum10 Dinosaurs That Could Be The New Villain In Jurassic Park IVJul 21, 2013
I think that the dinosaur that is most likely to be the new main antagonist would probably be carnotaurus for three main reasons.
ONE: It stands out easily and is just plain cool.
TWO: It was mentioned in the Second book but didn't make it into any of the movies yet.
THREE: In the book it had the ability to change it's pigmentation like a chameleon which adds to it's ability to kill cunningly.
Even if it is not the main antagonist, I think it will at least make an appearance like the dilophosaurus, in the first movie.

Not entirely sure what the "dead weight" part means Delta, but, ok.

ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
This is how I list the four biggest carnivores(most commonly stated)
Biggest to smallest(relatively speaking that is)
1. Tyrannosaurus rex- 40-50 ft long, 18-23 ft tall, 7-10 tons
2. Giganotosaurus- 40-46 ft long, 18-20 ft tall, 7-8.5 tons
3. Spinosaurus- 45-56 ft long, 20-23 ft tall(head), 5-7 tons
4. Carcharodontosaurus- 36-40 ft long, 14-16 ft tall, 5-6.5 tons
Sizes based on my estimates and don't correct me. I'm not correcting anyone else. Just stating how I list em and what the sizes are IN MY OPINION.

Can't wait for The Fight To Survive.
They do encounter an Ankylosaurus at some point.

This discussion was more about opinions, and I'm glad to see that there are different opinions on this very peculiar dinosaur.

You have to look at the whole animal though. Not saying you are wrong and I'm right though.

If for display purposes, then it wouldn't have many. Maybe a crest on its head and some on it's arms maybe.

Numerous dinosaurs in Asia had feathers. Take Velociraptor. It lived in Mongolia! Would feathers be needed in the dessert? They had a reason. I don't think it's right to assume that dinosaurs in the west did not have them due to the environment. It was something more than that.
PS- I think dinosaurs were warm-blooded, so feathers were not used for insulation on my opinion. Probably display or something.
Replyfuturepaleontologist1Dinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
Alright, let's look at the statistics. Spinosaurus had a large sail atop it's back. This can tell us a lot about the animal itself. If we can figure out where the spine connects to the hips and the legs, then we can find out how tall and long the animal was. Now you're probably saying "That doesn't asnwer my question" But, in a way it does. The saurischan hips are so unique, especially on Spinosaurus Aegypticus that if we can find several of those hips we can determine the average size of a Spinosaurus, and ou of the data we have collected, the average size estimation is about 11 tons and 64 feet
Replyfuturepaleontologist1Dinosaurs ForumA T-rex with FeathersJul 21, 2013
Again, that is a Yutyranus Huali, not a Tyrannosaurus Rex. I for the most part agree with Rex Fan, but I think adult Rexes had little bits of feathers if they had feathers at all. I don't think they would lose all of thier feathers when they reached adulthood. A change like that is too major for something that large. I for one think that due to the environment it lived in, Tyrannosaurus Rex would not need feathers. It's environment was not very seasonal and it was hot. Why would it need them? I don't know. The scientist that proposed that all dinosaurs had feathers jumped to a conclusion too soon. In certain environments feathers would have been absolutely neccessary, but I doubt that western dinosaurs had feathers at all.

I'm rooting for Delta, but putting my money on Diplo.
Ps. Rex Fan, have you read my story yet?
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
Yeah I know. I'm not looking to get into a debate about this or anything. Just stating my opinion.
Gotta work on the Delta vs Diplo fight right now.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
Your right, but Spino is longer, has more teeth, and a huge sail that can be flushed with blood. Remember, most "fights" are normally two predators roaring at eachother.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AnkylosaurusJul 21, 2013
Seven tons is huge. Compared to T. rex, smaller, but T. rex is a dead weight, and smaller is giant for us.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
Longer than Carchar and probably a little heavier, but Carchar was probably more powerful and had the more lethal bite. These are just my opinions of course.
Spino and Carchar could hold their own in a fight against one another. Neither would be invincible even as an adult.

ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AnkylosaurusJul 21, 2013
FACT DUDE, at this point, just about everyone knows my opinions. So, why bother putting it again and again?
Anyways, I'm not trying to convince anyone that I'm right. 56 ft long and 7 tons is big no matter what. The size of either animal was not important to the battle, just a minor detail.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
Well that is at your estimate. And this is about twenty feet longer than carcharadontosaurus. Very scary, no matter what you are. (Sauropods over 100 feet not included.)
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumA T-rex with FeathersJul 21, 2013
Yutyrannus. Not a T-rex, but a cousin of it. If done properly, feathers would be ok, although I don't think adult rexes had feathers. Only juveniles. A change like that would be too major though. That's why I don't think they will do feathers.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMy Opinion on SpinosaurusJul 21, 2013
I put Spino at 46-56 ft long, 20-23 ft tall(head), and 5-7 tons. Comparable to both of your estimations. Cacharodontosaurus would have been more than capable of taking on an adult Spinosaurus. Not underrating Spino or anything, but Carchar was a fierce and large carnivore too.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumA T-rex with FeathersJul 21, 2013
That's not T. rex. Hands wrong, skull wrong, T. rex overall looks scarier like a reptile.
