MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 4:19 PMOne of the reasons in JP4 they didn't want the t-rex to have feathers is because it wouldn't look scary enough. I believe this picture shows it would look even scarier with feathers.

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 5:23 PMThat's not T. rex. Hands wrong, skull wrong, T. rex overall looks scarier like a reptile.

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 5:45 PMYutyrannus. Not a T-rex, but a cousin of it. If done properly, feathers would be ok, although I don't think adult rexes had feathers. Only juveniles. A change like that would be too major though. That's why I don't think they will do feathers.

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 6:10 PMAgain, that is a Yutyranus Huali, not a Tyrannosaurus Rex. I for the most part agree with Rex Fan, but I think adult Rexes had little bits of feathers if they had feathers at all. I don't think they would lose all of thier feathers when they reached adulthood. A change like that is too major for something that large. I for one think that due to the environment it lived in, Tyrannosaurus Rex would not need feathers. It's environment was not very seasonal and it was hot. Why would it need them? I don't know. The scientist that proposed that all dinosaurs had feathers jumped to a conclusion too soon. In certain environments feathers would have been absolutely neccessary, but I doubt that western dinosaurs had feathers at all.

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 6:32 PMNumerous dinosaurs in Asia had feathers. Take Velociraptor. It lived in Mongolia! Would feathers be needed in the dessert? They had a reason. I don't think it's right to assume that dinosaurs in the west did not have them due to the environment. It was something more than that.
PS- I think dinosaurs were warm-blooded, so feathers were not used for insulation on my opinion. Probably display or something.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJul-21-2013 6:36 PMIf for display purposes, then it wouldn't have many. Maybe a crest on its head and some on it's arms maybe.

I will say, the second one is still very fierce looking even with the feathers. If they were to give Tyrannosaurus feathers, that's what I'd wanna see.

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 8:22 PMI agree with rex fan I think that the feathers would mostly be on the infants and juveniles and be lost towards adulthood. Or possibly just much more lightly plumed

MemberCompsognathusJul-21-2013 8:33 PMIn the east however it got very cold at night due to the Earth's tilt. A Velociraptor needed feathers so it didn't freeze to death in it's sleep

No thank you sir, I dont want to watch 90 minutes of people being chased by chickens.... (I can do that at home)
Also, i have a question about the feather dispute, everyone invisions carnivores feathered and stuff... but I ask you this... if you saw a feathered triceratops... what would you do... Id laugh, it would ruin the complete image of them, i tend to do this with most feathered dinosaurs...
because they all remind me of chickens...

MemberCompsognathusJul-27-2013 7:11 PMIt's quite possible some dinosaurs had feathers on them but saying that they all did is just too much of a quick assumption and I refuse to believe that T-Rex had any feathers at all because really if all carnivorous dinosaurs had feathers then why not the herbivores? a feathered triceratops or stegosaurus sounds pretty ridiculous to me as well. I'd be more terrified of a huge reptile chasing me than a big chicken.

MemberCompsognathusJul-27-2013 7:22 PMWould you be more of afraid of a raptor that can change the color of its feathers, or a bright red raptor that stands out from the forest?
Hi

Rex Fan 684
MemberCompsognathusJul-28-2013 9:10 AMThe did find quill marks on ceratopsian dinosaurs. So some of the herbivores had feather like structures.
