MemberCompsognathusSep-13-2012 7:06 PMI was surfing the web for some news regarding all sites and I found this. It has to do mainly with Prometheus, but a part of it talks about Jurassic Park. According to this article, James Cameron was planning to do Jurassic Park, but they beat him to the makings.
"He had wanted to tackle another big franchise, namely Jurassic Park, only to find Steven Spielberg had pipped him to the post.
Cameron revealed: "I tried to buy the book rights and he beat me to it by a few hours.
"But when I saw the film, I realised that I was not the right person to make the film, he was. Because he made a dinosaur movie for kids, and mine would have been Aliens with dinosaurs, and that wouldn't have been fair."

MemberCompsognathusSep-15-2012 12:03 PMMakes me wish I had Quantum Based Powers. I could just hop into a alternate reality, where Cameron did make JP. Then I would return here and say how good/horrid it was.
HMM....makes you think really hard at how different two directors would make a movie.
Personally...I think Cameron would of followed the book more closely...now if it, would of sold better than Spielberg's.....WE WILL NEVER KNOW!!!!!!!!
