MemberBrachiosaurusSep-09-2021 8:35 PMMy favorite sequel is The Lost World, I think it's extremely over looked. Sure, it has it's problems, but there are a lot of great ideas in it. I love how they show the dinosaurs coexisting and creating a mini ecosystem, expanding on the behavior of dinosaurs, mainly the Tyrannosaurus. I also like it shows that if living dinosaurs did exist in modern day, humanity would try to exploit them for profit.
I really love the tone of the film, it has a very eerie and foreboding feel to it, where as the first movie was about humanity bringing dinosaurs to our world, this movie is about humanity entering the dinosaurs' world. Isla Sorna has a very "Skull Island" feel to it, it's a place where humans aren't the top of the food chain, a place where they shouldn't be. The movie has really great scenes that, in my opinion, could be considered just as iconic as the first, such as the Tyrannosaurus parents attacking the RV (RIP Eddie Carr), the Velociraptors in the long grass (RIP Ajay), and the scene of Dieter Stark being swarmed and killed by angry Compsognathus (let's be honest, he kind of deserved it). I will admit there are certain scenes, like the San Diego incident and the infamous "raptor gymnastics" are a bit over the top and silly and some of the characters are a bit bland, but other that, I feel like The Lost World is a really solid and entertaining sequel.

MemberBrachiosaurusSep-10-2021 6:28 AMUm I know it's not a popular choice but I actually really enjoyed Fallen Kingdom, I'd prefer to rewatch it than Jurassic World 1. I don't know why, I just really liked it. I liked the idea of the Indoraptor a lot.

MemberAllosaurusOct-11-2021 5:54 PMI liked Fallen Kingdom better than Jurassic Park III in most aspects however the one thing I really didn't like about Fallen Kingdom was the subtle political middle finger to the previous administration. I don't care who you vote for or your political beliefs, Please don't involve real world politics in a movie that is about saving dinosaurs because that reference will not age well in years to come.

MemberBrachiosaurusOct-11-2021 5:56 PMdidn't pick up on that at all- i guess media is subjective, though

MemberAllosaurusOct-11-2021 8:44 PMThat’s very common for Hollywood films to be honest. I’ve seen it everywhere in its films, from adult to children’s films. I just ignore it as it has largely to do with the political ideas the film chooses to endorse.
I mean politics in movies is annoying But not the end of the world.
Unless the film is directly commentating on that idea or politics then I wouldn’t be annoyed.
Death of the author theory.
