Part 8: End of a Legend
The fires from Maledictus Dominum burned out, leaving the Trinity Peaks scorched but habitable in their wake. Tyrannas, Tyrus, Tyra, Albus, Alba, Alborax, and Cocoa rejoiced as they saw the wound-riddled Tyrannos trotting towards them. The Vengeful Rex was almost immediately met with a neck-hug from his mate. The four Albertosaurus cooed, asking where Hurricane was. Tyrannos sadly chirped that he had turned against him, and he had killed him--reluctantly. The eight Tyrannosaurs then headed up the pathway, back to the cliff.
All that was left of Hurricane was a skeleton, with many broken bones. His right-leg was bitten in-half, his lower-jaw was demolished, and a giant branch was firmly lodged in his ribcage. The flesh and tissue had been burned away by the fires, and the eight Tyrannosaurs circled around him, their heads lowered in honour and respect for the beast. After this, they leaned down, hinging their legs next to their torsos to rest.
The two rulers of the mountain were a few metres away from the others, resting like lions in a savannah. As the morning sun began to shine through the clouds, its light was shining over the perch at the edge of the cliff, the throne of the Trinity Peaks. Tyrannas nudged her mate, and he knew what he had to do; reclaim what was rightfully his. Tyrannos used his small but strong arms and powerful, muscular legs to stand to his full height of eighteen feet, approaching the edge.
Each step Tyrannos took shook the mountain itself, sending shivers down his pack-mates' spines. Blood no longer stained his wounds, which did not seem to affect him in his majestic and epic stride towards the edge of the cliffside. At the edge, he could feel the presence of his father, Thunderstorm, who had stood here upon killing Tornado. The Vengeful Rex looked into the sun, seeing the spirits of his parents looking down upon him as he stood upon the perch, the wind blowing his feathers back. The true heir to the Lightning Rex's throne tossed his skull back as his massive jaws opened, unleashing a world-silencing roar that could be heard for miles. It was distantly heard by Tyrance, who then released his own roar of glory--which was heard by Tyrannos. He, and the Tyrannosaurs of the Trinity Peaks, bellowed in response, to the one, true Lord of the Dinosaurs - bringing closure to their legendary lives.
