Just one year ago, in 2016, a new Tyrannosaurus specimen has been discovered in Hell Creek, in Montana.
It has been called "Tuft's Love Rex", 20 percent of the animal has been found: the skull which is one of the most complete ever found, 4 feet long and 2,500 pounds! It's pelvis and some vertebrae.
The entire animal is estimated to be 40 feet long and 15-20 ft tall at the hips, and it's quite terrifying the fact that this animal was not fully grow...a juvenile! If this animal was that big and was just a juvenile, this says it could have grown bigger than both Sue and Trix.
But the final question is how large this animal would have been if it didn't die at 15 years of age? most of studies and estimations make it look big like this
In my own opinion, this size is a bit unrealistic because for a tyrannosaurus of this size will not be easy to hunt, but if this size is the real one , the theory that Tyrannosaurus hunted Alamosaurus may have been true.
Tyrannosaurus was the only one theropod of it's time that was big enough to hunt Alamosaurus. If a normal 40 foot Tyrannosaurus would be a huge threat to Alamosaurus, a 45-46 ft long tyrannosaurus could take it down with bone crushing jaws; Alamosaurus wasn't too big for Tyrannosaurus too, the specimen near to the sauropod skeleton is slightly smaller than Sue.
