MemberBrachiosaurusJul-11-2016 9:24 PMHi guys, it's my first post in quite a while, I've been quite busy away from the forums. I just saw Jurassic World again on TV, and it brought back a flood of memories and nostalgia from not only last year but I started to think and remember about the first time I watched Jurassic Park. I'm very excited for Jurassic World 2 and to see Owen and Claire in the normal world, and how they have grown but....what if JW2 sucks?
I'm just looking at the direction the franchise is going, and do we really wanna see weaponised dinosaurs being used for military purposes? Many entities being able to make dinosaurs? I just think of those and I almost start to feel sad inside, it just doesn't give me theoriginal feeling behind the Jurassic Park franchise. JW was very different to the other films but it still had a Jurassic Park feel to it, but dinosaurs being made by everyone and used by the military??? Not at all!
Colin Treverrow said the franchise would need to evolve or perish and would push the boundaries (although I don't believe it, some sites report that in the future we could be seeing dinosaurs being kept at pets in the JW franchise) , and to be honest, I would much rather see the franchise end on this fourth installment than be somewhat ruined by a 5th movie that just doesn't honour the original works. I just really don't like this idea, and I don't have any idea how this movie is going to play out, seeing how Hoskin's vision in JW plays out in the real world.
Do you guys share this opinion, please let me know!!!

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJul-12-2016 3:16 AMGODZILLA316 - Welcome back to the forums! I am so very pleased to see you once more! I happen to agree with your sentiment to an exceptionally large degree. Indeed; I would rather see the series end than watch it become ruined. Once again, welcome back! :)

MemberAllosaurusJul-12-2016 6:57 AMI have to agree. Jurassic Park has always been about John Hammond and the dinosaurs. When you make the dinosaurs "Weaponized" it takes away the already prevalent appeal of the word, dinosaur.
Like, are we going to see a T.rex wielding dual bazookas on his back? A spinosaurus with a cannon? I mean come on, you can evolve the series, but not by making it dumb.
Good grief.

MemberVelociraptorJul-12-2016 1:37 PMI feel that the whole point of the Jurassic Park series was the exciting misfortune of trying to get the park open! But Jurassic World just dulled that factor by just opening park in the first place...

MemberTriceratopsJul-13-2016 6:06 AMI mean we don't know enough about the future movies to really say. You could probably find people that think Lost World could be the last good Jurassic Park movie.
Maybe after the movie comes out we can say but right now it's too soon.

What I mean is what GorillaGodzilla explained. I mean its supposed to be about the park, not this weaponised dinosaur stuff. Maybe, JP3 and JW werent as good as the first 2, but they never really did anything that could really crash the whole franchise. I mean they really did push the boundaries with the Indominus, and at first I didnt quite like the idea, but it wasnt too over the top, as was still somewhat credible within the series. Weaponising dinos and using them for military purposes is not at all true to the franchise, and it takes away the original feeling of the original films. JW still had alot of the Jurassic Park factor, but i really fail to see how JW2 will have it. I hope that they atleast have Ian Malcolm in the movie.

MemberBrachiosaurusJul-17-2016 9:56 AMI'd shutdown the park(again). make the park strictly research. Have a skeleton crew of scientists.
The main characters live and work all over the world.
Plot:
Dinosaurs are found dead and missing on the island...so they bring Owen Grady back to investigate.

MemberTriceratopsJul-17-2016 11:31 AMThe fact is the franchise has been about the park since the beginning and after 20 years we finally saw in open and function. Now what can you do with it?
Ever since lost World had the t rex rampage through San Francisco people have been talking about the dinosaurs getting loose into the world, I'm surprised it took so long for them to go with that.

AdminTyrannosaurus RexJul-17-2016 11:58 AMWe've got to get these characters and dinosaurs off these islands. That's just what needs to happen. We need to see them in different surroundings and different situations in order for the franchise to move on. The weaponizing dinosaur set-up is as good of an "out" as any.
And since when did "weaponizing" dinosaurs mean literally strapping weapons to them? I think the over-the-top Hoskins character explained exactly what we're to expect from that concept in Jurassic World: Setting wild raptors loose on enemy insurgents in guerrilla warfare.
As for whether or not Jurassic World is the last "good" Jurassic Park movie (and even that comment is debatable), I'd say relax. We don't know enough about the next installment to remotely be worried about such a notion. If it sucks, make a better movie next time. I highly doubt the franchise will be torpedoed by the next entry.

MemberAllosaurusJul-29-2016 7:07 PMI'm starting to hate JW :l
Please, no dino pets or weaponised dinosaurs in JW2. I will forever hate Juan Antonio Bayona if the franchise goes this way

MemberCompsognathusFeb-27-2017 5:44 PMTo be completely honest, I didn't even think that Jurassic World is worthy of being called "great". Simply put, i think it was pretty meh. The only thing that saved it was Owen's character and the fight at the end. Other than that, the acting was abhorrent, both to watch and listen to. However, it was definitely an IMAX experience for the ages.
For 14 years of absence, I was hopeful for much more than what we got. Then I saw, for some reason I have yet to understand, that directing for a very critically acclaimed franchise was put into the hands of a vaguely known Indy film director. It was right about here where I lost a decent amount of my faith in how it may turn out, but for my love of the franchise, I had to continue putting faith into it.
Now, J.A Bayona has directed a couple of pretty good movies from what I've heard, including A Monster Calls. With that being said, I have a decent amount more faith in this next installment and for what it may offer, and for God's sake, I hope Bryce Dallas Howard has taken a few extra acting classes.
The rest of the cast looks pretty promising. Most have been in some damn good movies, like James Cromwell, that one goofy looking guy from Captain America, and even Rafe Spall did well in Life of Pi as the writer. The new director nonetheless has definitely made me gain hopes as opposed to Trevorrow, as well as the more star worthy cast.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-28-2017 7:20 PMMy personal thoughts on where this series is going is probably towards dinosaur maltreatment.
i mean on the last installment the public is already bored with the dinosaurs, they are only happy when scientist create BIGGER and BADDER dinosaurs right?
so what if, someone in the park that day took a video of the fight between the t-rex and the indominus and was able to upload it to the internet?
im predicting scientist and companies are gonna abuse this hype to experiment on dinosaurs, create dino hybrids and pit them against each other, even go so far as to sell dinosaurs to people, well see dinosaurs experimented or injected with powerful performance enhancers, we may see failed hybrids. Of course in the end a certain something will happen that will remind us humans that these are actual animals not some toy monsters, and pets.

MemberCompsognathusApr-24-2017 3:59 AMI love all 4 films. I have faith the future films will be fine. They're in great hands.

MemberCompsognathusJun-07-2017 12:00 AMIMO JP is the only GREAT film in the franchise but I love them all. 2-4 are very enjoyable fun films and I have great nostalgic memories for 2 and 3 but calling them great movies is stretching it. Also, for a new director Trevorrow did a good job with JW.
I have hope that JW2 will be very fun but I wouldn't expect greatness from it.
