Chapter 6: So close, but so far.
As Tyranak placed his colossal foot onto the hard red clay of the mesa, a glooming sound emanated into his ears. He immediately stopped his stride and alerted the pack that a storm was in the distance, and they might have to find shelter. Nonetheless, the pack pressed forward for the time being, they were so close to the Pride-Lands.
In the distance Trinity Peaks could be seen, like a shadow casting itself high and mightily above the pack of fifteen Tyrants. The sun was near setting, and a purple hue had been placed around the landscape. Quetzalcoatlus soared through the sky, looking like purple angels from the view of the T.rex. Tyrance felt serenity and peace with these magnificent views cast before his eyes, the same was felt for Tyranno, Tyrani, and Tyrana.
Tyrantic returned to his classic state of depression. He didn’t care about his surroundings, and only wanted to sleep. He began to dwell back to being saved by Tyrance, he couldn’t save himself, and his brother who he hated so very much did such. Not only that, he was to die by the hands of a foolish pterosaur, and his brother had to save him yet again. All of this only made Tyrantic feel extreme anger and frustration, giving him a headache, which only enhanced his defeated mentality.
Tyrance’s noticed all of this, but ignored it, and viewed his surroundings with the most of his abilities. The pack pressed forward through a good portion of the mesa, and just as they planted their theropod feet onto the clay of a new location in the mesa, a demonic strike of thunder pulsated through the ground. Tyranak instantly stopped the pack and alerted Tyranoa of the impending storm.
Nonetheless, the pack progressed for now, as the storm hadn’t quite started yet. This progression didn’t last long, as a ferocious rain began to pour onto the ground like the tears of a demon. Tyranak reluctantly made the decision to get the pack in for the rest of the storm. Looking all around, he finally spotted a cave covered by a thick pink-clay roof, they would rest there for the night.
The pack lied down to rest in the covering. Tyrance and his siblings instantly went next to their mother, for warmth and the feeling of protection from the storm. The adult Tyrannosaurus have shed all of their feathers, leaving only minuscule remnants around the spine and top of the head. The juveniles however, due to being a juvenile, still have a thick coat of proto-feathers for insulation.
Hours passed, and storm wasn’t even close to dying down. Tyranak began to frustrated, it was only three months before Winter would settle in, and they needed to establish their dominance over the land and the herds and packs. All this storm did was halt their progression, preventing them from achieving their goals. The juveniles began to get hungry, and started chirping to their mother for food. Tyranoa didn’t know what to do about this, but she bellowed to Tyranak and set off to get a meal for her children.
Tyranoa stomped through the mesa, searching desperately and quickly for a meal for her hatchlings. Using her un-matched nose, she sniffed the warm-air, and the scent of an Anzu filled her brain. She knew Anzu was a small and fast creature, but it would be a perfect meal for the children. And with that she began a swift stride across the mesa.
It took at-least thirty minutes, but Tyranoa finally found the nest of the Anzu. Luckily for her, it was asleep. Tyranoa showed no mercy in attempting to grab the Anzu, but her attempts were futile, as the tight senses of the small dinosaur immediately awoke it, and it ran off in fear. Tyranoa failed to get the Anzu, but the small dinosaur left it’s hatchlings when it escaped. Tyranoa, with fierce speeds, clamped onto each hatchling with her gigantic jaw, breaking them easily. Tyranoa lifted the baby Anzus with her massive skull, and began her journey back home.
The dense rain felt like needles slicing through her scales as she swiftly ran back to the shelter of the cave. Hurricane like winds pulsated and flowed through the land, but due to Tyranoa’s immense size she was spared from the worst of it’s effects. Tyranoa finally made it back home, the bright moon encased the light in a eery glow of pale light as she dropped the carcasses of the Anzu hatchlings to Tyrance and his siblings. The juveniles instantly began to devour the carcass, with Tyrance tearing off limbs and eating them whole. The children were satisfied, and now the entire pack of T.rex could rest and wear out the storm. The storm continued for another four hours, it seemed never ending, and the worst was yet to come.
Tyranak began to get really frustrated, he bellowed angrily and walked from the covering. He looked into the sky to see a thick tornado coming towards them from the horizon, and in an instant he ordered the pack to run. The entire pack, using their gigantic leg muscles, dashed off away from the tornado. Tyrance and his siblings easily outran the giants, and they all decided it was time to continued their journey despite the torrential storm.
The pack painfully trembled and stomped through the mesa, and like heaven’s light, they saw it in the distance. Tyranak was the first to see the golden lining of the Pride-lands, and immediately ordered the pack to run, and run they did. With each stride they became closer and closer to the Pride-lands, until finally, they were there.

I greatly enjoy the way in which you give each of the characters their own time in the spotlight and bring them together in a cohesive whole! Excellent work! Thank you ever so much for continuing to produce this fine series! :)

MemberTriceratopsDec-16-2015 5:29 PMNice chapter! I was a little sad when the whole "Mother who has her own children, scares away a different mother and killers her children" cliche happened but hey, that's the circle of life. Please keep posting :D.
