The long awaited day was here, it was time for Tyrance and his family to join the herbivores in the Pridelands. The Pridelands, the most envied and desired area to live if you’re a herbivore, and the most desired area to hunt if you are a predator. The lands have large fork-like mountains, plains that spread out for miles filled with newly evolved flowers, running water streams, and countless trees.
Tyranak has been to the Pridelands only once before, when he did go there he was only fifteen and was pushed out by the once dominant pack of T.rex that used to terrorize the land. Tyranak has taken their place, except he hasn't and would never force any herbivores into extinction from over-hunting.
Tyranak bellowed his kingly bellow, awakening his pack. Tyrance was already awake, pacing around aimlessly awaiting for the call. When he did here the call, Tyranak was surprised to see Tyrance run up to him immediately. Tyrantic wanted to sleep in longer, even though his siblings were up and running about preparing for the journey. The entire pack prepared themselves for the trek, drinking from the watering hole, and gnawing on the remnants of a Heterodontosaurus bone. Tyrantic however knew everyone was awake, and purposefully did what he wanted.
As the team began to start the journey, Tyranak turned back at Tyrantic who was still asleep. Tyranak was a nice father, and chirped for his son to wake up, Tyrantic didn’t. Tyranak began to worry, he stomped over to his son and chirped again. Tyrantic was aware of everything, yet still ignored his father, and proceeded to lie asleep. Tyranak knew he couldn’t leave his child, and at the same time he knew his son was awake.
Tyranak knew what he had to do. He pulled back his neck sucking in all the air he could, and with a kingly power let out one of his most powerful bellows, instantly forcing Tyrantic awake. The morning sunrise began to shed shards of light onto the swamp, and Quetzalcoatlus chirped from the sky.
At last, the pack set off for the most intense journey of their lives. They would have to cross the entire swamp, through a thick conifer forest, around a mountain, deep inside the highly feared fern-forest, a mesa, to finally reach the golden pride-lands.
Tyranak and the pack smashed through the swamp, smashing through fallen tree branches, walking atop rocky hills, and worst of all avoiding the awful parasites. Tyranak bellowed, this alerted the nearby Deinosuchus and sent the native pterosaurs flying away in fear, they all knew the king.
It was a warm summer morning, the air was hot, yet the water was cold. After nearly five hours of walking, Tyranak ordered the pack to take a rest in the waters. Algae cluttered around their bodies, but it didn’t bother them. Tyrance felt contempt and happy, he didn’t have to worry about his pack because of his father, yet he still felt an instinctual urge to make sure his siblings thrive, even Tyrantic.
Tyrani stopped and stared at a compsognathus. She playfully scared the critter and sent it running for it’s life, and this she caught up to the pack. Tyranoa followed Tyranak closely, she kept her children in check at all times as they were the most important members in the pack to her. They were nearing the end of the swamp, this was the part Tyranak feared the most as it was where Giganoctus resided.
Tyranak ordered the pack to walk slower, and ease their tremble. He didn’t want to deal with Giganoctus, he despised him enough. The pack remained on alert, yet Tyranak noticed something the others didn’t, he saw a lone Giganotosaurus spying in the distance. Fully aware of the intent of the Giganotosaurus, Tyranak let out a ferocious bellow, which sent the behemoth back up and away.
Tyranak felt pleased by this, and ordered the pack to regain their momentum and dash.
Tyranak’s foot smashed into soft mud, he lifted his giant head up and instantly knew the conifer forest lie directly ahead. Tyranak chirped, alerting the pack that they were now in the conifer forest, their days in the swamp had ended. Tyrana, Tyrani, and Tyranno were ecstatic to be in a new location after being clumped down in a swamp for the three years they’ve been alive. Tyrantic, as usual, remained off put and mad; Tyrance contained his excitement, and remained mature through it all, although inside he too was ecstatic.
The conifer forest, although cramped and thorny, would be much easier to migrate through than all the others because due to T.rexes size, they can tank the majority of the obstacles in the forest. Tyranak pushed through the thick conifers and muddy hills of the forest, no rivers were insight, only large, thick bushed and trees. One of the members of the pack accidentally twisted his ankle on a shallow muddy pile, Tyranak turned back and ordered three of the members to lift him back up.
The air was moist in this forest, but a lot of parasites swarmed these tyrants, annoying and confusing the beasts. The children were spared from the worst, due to the majority of the parasites attacking the larger adults.
Tyrance was confused by the mud, his whole life had been spent in water and mangroves, these muddy plateaus were entirely new to him. Tyrance placed his foot in a muddy pile, it sank straight through, nearly tripping him up, but he prevailed. Tyrantic didn’t care about anything but himself, he pressed on with no awareness in his new surroundings, his mind was in a different place.
All Tyrantic could think about was power, he wanted it so badly, to be the true Alpha. He hated and despised how Tyrance had claimed the position, and he could never have it unless Tyrance died. Even though he is a psychopath, Tyrantic didn’t dare think about killing his brother, but the thoughts began to pulsate through his mind. What was becoming of Tyrantic? Tyranno along with Tyrani were both ecstatic and frolicking around in the mud, which they had never seen or felt before. Tyrana stayed close to Tyrance, being the maturest of the group, they kept the others in check, including Tyrantic.
A scent caught Tyranoa’s nostrils, a scent of Triceratops, but it was dead. Tyranoa alerted Tyranak to this, and he immediately told the pack to follow him after it. It wasn’t long before they found it, a dead Triceratops. Tyranak was suspicious of this, it didn’t die from wounds, he knew it had died from an infection, an infection only a Tyrannosaurus could create. He began to worry if a neighboring pack of T.rex patrolled this land, one he didn’t have control over.
Anyways, the pack indulged in the Triceratops tearing off rib chunks and thick pieces of fatty loin. Blood fell down their jaws after the quickly eaten meal, and the pack continued their journey, and it wasn’t long before they made it through the conifer forest. Tyranak stopped for a second, he stared at what he knew was a bench mark, a gigantic mountain. This mountain meant they had indeed escaped the conifer forest. What they would have to do now however was go around the mountain, which was no slouch when it came to length. The pack began the journey, as this would by far be the longest yet!
A thick fog covered the landscape, encasing the T.rex in a blurry mist of which they could not see through. Tyrance had never seen a mountain and his life, in-fact none of his siblings had seen a mountain. Tyrance stopped for a second and looked at the gigantic formation, it pillared directly up and snow covered the entirety of the peeks. Most dinosaurs know of this mountain as the Trinity Peaks, due to there being three peaks with the middle one protruding like a trinity.
A stream of clear water rushed through a canopy. The Tyrannosaurus took a break by this river, enjoying the clean water and trying to find their pathway through the fog.
After the pack rested, the pack of total seventeen Tyrannosaurus continued their stomp around the mountain. Tyranak looked into the sky, he noticed immediately a rain was encroaching on their position, yet he didn’t worry too much as a cave was right in the distance. They would rest there until the rain halted.
Tyranno took after his oldest brother, he wanted to be mature yet respected Tyrance as the alpha. He respected all of his siblings, even Tyrantic, although he hated how Tyrantic treated him. Tyrantic remained off-put from the group, snorting when Tyrance would chirp and swinging his head low to the ground, not looking at anyone. Tyrance finally was fed up, he bellowed at Tyrantic telling him to lift up his head; Tyranoa stopped for a moment and watched her children.
Tyrantic didn’t listen, and continued walking. Tyrance bellowed again at Tyrantic, this time stopping the entire pack of T.rex, forcing them to watch the impending bout. Tyrantic finally stopped, he turned around and stared at Tyrance with his brown eyes. Tyrance only looked at Tyrantic with his golden tinted eyes, he then snorted telling him to lift his head up and remain alert.
Tyrantic didn’t say anything, he bared his teeth and bellowed at Tyrance defiantly. Tyrance knew what this meant, and bellowed back. Tyrantic charged Tyrance, attempting to ram into him, but failing badly as Tyrance raised up and clamped onto his brother’s vertebrae. Tyrance let go quickly, only trying to assert his power and not kill his brother.
The thick mist obscured the vision of these two tyrants, or should we say the one tyrant and the one king. Tyrance bared his teeth angrily, and Tyrantic did the same. Tyranak only watched as the two clambered, ramming into each other and smashing heads.
Tyranoa attempted to stop the fighting, but Tyranak stopped her and snorted telling her that this was needed to grow their abilities. Tyrantic clamped onto the leg of Tyrance who bellowed in agony, but slammed his foot into Tyrantic’s full force sending Tyrantic into near unbearable pain. Tyrance swung his body around and perfectly clamped onto Tyrantic’s skull, and threw him down. Tyrance placed his foot atop Tyrantic’s skull as Tyrantic bellowed with anger and frustration. He left the foot there while Tyrantic wore himself out by the yelling, and unwillingly surrendered.
After this brief but brutal battle, the pack regained themselves and continued the trek. Progressing around the mountain, the pack of rexes finally made it past the thick foggy mist. Tyranak stopped for a moment, he lifted his head up and sniffed with his max potential, the smell of Giganotosaurus filled his nostrils. Tyranak began to believe that the Giganotosaurus were following them, he didn’t want them encroaching on the pride-lands, he would stop this now.
Tyranak ordered the pack to progress forward and that he would catch up soon. Tyranoa sneered confusingly at this, but joined her children and the pack in continuing past Trinity Peaks. Tyranak walked back into a conifer forest, the smell of Giganotosaurus was so close, and he was more than ready for this bout. Tyranak stood by a covering, camouflaging himself behind the thick leaves and called cluttered branches. He watched as the entire pack of Giganotosaurus led by Giganoctus watched the Tyrannosaurs migrate.
In Giganotosaurus customs, if the leader is successfully challenged and beaten, the entire pack stands back. Of course Tyranak knew of this, and from the brush he charged the pack. Giganoctus stood back bellowing in fear as Tyranak lie ahead, baring his teeth angrily. Although the Giganotosaurus was three-feet bigger than Tyranak, it meant nothing as Tyranak was far and away stronger.
In the distant past, this pack of Giganotosaurus encroached on the territory of Tyranak’s pack. Although Tyranak had established himself across North America as the true Apex-King, Giganoctus didn’t think of this and would attack his food supply and destroy his lands. Tyranak banished the pack and a intense battle ensued, with Tyranak’s pack winning and killing five members, pushing them away deep into the swamp.
Tyranak snorted at Giganoctus informing him that he knew what they were up to. Tyranak then proceeded to challenge Giganoctus to a rival bout, if Tyranak won Giganoctus would leave or risk a demolishing pack attack from the Tyrannosaurs. But if Giganoctus won, he would no longer be banished. The pack of Giganotosaurus stood back as Giganoctus and Tyranak circled each-other, preparing for the intense battle.
Giganoctus bellowed, and charged. He attempted to clamp onto Tyranak’s spine, but failed horribly as Tyranak twirled his body around, dodging the blow. Tyranak then proceeded to clamp onto the neck of Giganoctus, but it didn’t last long as the behemoth clawed Tyranak’s neck with his longer arms. Tyranak wasn’t truly phased by this, and retaliated with a stomp to the Giganotosaurus’s foot, followed by a clamp onto his lower jaw, nearly breaking it.
Tyranak was purposefully not using his max bite-force of twenty-thousand pounds, as he wanted to simply assert his dominance rather than flat out kill Giganoctus. Giganoctus regained his stance, but he began to fear for his life, and surrendered. Tyranak’s ploy worked, making Giganoctus think that he would kill him, causing him to surrender.
The Giganotosaurus pack moved deep into the swamp, defeated. Tyranak bellowed his kingly bellow, turned around, and began a swift eighteen mile per-hour stride to catch up with the pack. It wasn’t long before he did rejoin the pack, and the mighty journey continued.
Part 4 End.
