Here's a chapter I've been anxiously awaiting to post. The battle is co-written by Primal King. It was an idea we came up with when I started writing my story Jurassic World; Codename: Shadow Rex. This is a battle Primal King wanted to write, and I wanted to post it. To say the least, the title is fitting.
A Battle of Kings
I ran up a flight of stairs and watched the battle through my rifle scope. It was impressive. They were pushing and shoving each other. Terrance was gaining ground and shoved Shadow through a wall. Shadow hit the ground with a crash, and Terrance walked over to finish him. Shadow kicked Terrance's head, and Terrance stepped back, shaking his head.
I reached for the RPG, but I didn't find it. Then I remembered I had dropped it. Great, now I have to go downstairs, easily within their sight, to get the RPG. Not going to be fun. I went down the stairs, looked down the hallway, and continued. Shadow was focused on Terrance.
Shadow was biting his neck. Terrance was fighting to free himself. Terrance started pushing Shadow. Shadow didn't let go, and Terrance kept pushing. Shadow was forced into a wall, and Terrance kept pushing. Shadow released his grip, and Terrance stepped back. Shadow roared in anger. Terrance didn't make a sound as he flashed his teeth and looked Shadow dead in the eye.
As I ran down the hallway, I realized that Terrance is just as scary when he's quiet as when he's roaring or growling. It was weird. They both looked at me, and I dove into a nearby room.
Terrance was the first to resume the fight. He charged and shoulder checked Shadow. Shadow stumbled until he ran into a wall. The wall crumbled, but Shadow stayed on his feet. Shadow charged at Terrance. Terrance attempted to sidestep, but was slowed down by a wall. Shadow rammed him, and Terrance crashed to the ground. Shadow wasted no time attacking Terrance. Terrance had rolled slightly, and Shadow didn't get a good grip. Terrance tried to get back to his feet, but Shadow pushed him back down. Shadow looked at Terrance for a minute. Terrance was on his side, staring right back at him. Neither made a move for what seemed like forever.
Shadow lunged for Terrance's throat, but Terrance took a turn to kick Shadow's head. It was just a grazing blow, but it stopped him. Shadow looked at Terrance again. Terrance growled, and Shadow lunged again. Terrance kicked him a second time. Shadow shook his head again and then looked at Terrance again. Terrance flashed his teeth and got ready for whatever came next. Shadow looked at Terrance's gut. Instead of attempting to bite and rip him open, he went to slash him with his toe claws.
I left the room I was in and kept running down the hallway. I was close to the turn I needed to make. Last thing I saw before rounding the corner was Shadow about to slash Terrance's gut open.
Terrance felt Shadow's claws against his belly. Instead of accepting that it's over, Terrance went for Shadow's ankle. He bit Shadow and pulled. Shadow lost balance and stumbled down the hallway. Shadow stopped at the hallway I was running down. He roared, and I looked behind me. Shadow was about to start running after me when Terrance came back. Terrance hit Shadow with the force of a freight train. Shadow was launched into the air and landed on his side on the next floor up.
Terrance stopped and looked at Shadow. Shadow stood up. He was just as confused as Terrance. Shadow was standing on the second floor. Terrance was on the first floor. They were looking each other dead in the eye and growling.
Terrance roared as loud as he could, and Shadow followed suit. Suddenly, the floor crumbled and dropped to the ground. The ceiling cracked and multiple tons of roof crashed down on top of Terrance, and Shadow dropped. Both tyrannosaurs were down for the count. They shook their heads and growled. Shadow was the first to recover. He grabbed the larger Tyrannosaur by the neck and lifted with all his might. Terrance felt himself getting heaved up and shook the fog from his head. Then, he started shoving.
Shadow had Terrance by the neck, but was also being pushed backwards. His claws ripped into concrete as he tried to gain traction. It was the final stand off, they were at each other's mercy. Terrance knew that if Shadow got the chance to finally bite down hard, he would die. So he had to keep shoving. Shadow knew that if Terrance pushed him over, he would have the chance to kill him. So he had to keep biting. Shadow finally did something crazy. He lifted his legs off of the ground.
Terrance suddenly felt himself fall forward and his chin ground against concrete. Shadow skidded to a halt a few feet away. Terrance managed to get himself up as quick as possible as Shadow ran over, jaws wide. The larger Tyrannosaur kicked, and the foot drove home. The blow landed straight on Shadow's face and he shouldered the ground, face grinding and concrete cracking from the impact. Teeth broke loose and scratches dulled the jet black T. Rex's face. He shook the blood from his eyes and roared as he head butted Terrance with a roar. The other Rex grunted as he was flung into the wall on the opposite end of the building.
Both Tyrannosaurus Rexes were tired and battle stricken. They were decked with scars and new wounds. Most of all, both of their heads hung low. They couldn't give up, but they wanted to. Before either Tyrant King could even move, another giant 3 toed foot slammed into the mud. Another Tyrannosaur entered the mix.
I aimed and got ready to blow all three tyrannosaurs a whole new one when I saw something insane happen.
Thorn walked over to Terrance and nuzzled him. He looked up, eyes gleaming with the joy of finding his sister ok. Then, she walked over to Shadow. Both he and Terrance growled in warning, however, they were for different reasons. To my, Terrance, and especially Shadow's surprise, she nuzzled him too. The black Tyrannosaur's eyes visibly widened as he realized that she wanted to be his mate.
He growled contently as he looked over the perfect Tyrannosaurus, one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen, and nuzzled her back. He walked over to Terrance and bumped noses. They had new found respect for each other, and would soon be even closer than brother after their battle. The new family of Tyrannosaurs then thundered off into the brush.

I really like the ending and I was laughing when I read "Terrance hit Shadow with the force of a freight train. Shadow was launched into the air and landed on his side on the next floor up. Terrance stopped and looked at Shadow. Shadow stood up. He was just as confused as Terrance. Shadow was standing on the second floor. Terrance was on the first floor.
