AdminIndoraptorNov-11-2015 4:35 PMAfter watching Jurassic World enough times, I thought it would be neat to see what everyone's opinions are on this scenerio. During Jurassic World when Claire, Owen, Gray and Zach are escaping the tech building, followed by one of the Raptors, they activate a hologram of a Dilophosaurus, which startles the Raptor and gives them enough time to make it outside.
Since it was a hologram, the Raptor obviously couldn't fight the Dilo, though it tried. I'm curious what the fans out there think woud happen if one raptor went up against one Dilophosaurus. We always see Raptors fighting larger predators in the Jurassic Park films, but never have we seen them fight another predator of roughly the same size (besides eachother in The Lost World). Who would you place your bets on and why?

MemberAllosaurusNov-12-2015 4:30 PMDepends: if the dilo is scientifically accurate, raptor wins. It also wins if there are multiple raptors. In a 1v1, it depends if the dilo is accurate or not

MemberTyrannosaurus RexNov-12-2015 10:11 PMCHRISPICARD - Oh, now this is a compelling scenario! Hmm...After careful thought, I bebelieve the conclusion to the battle you have presented would hinge upon the ability of either animal to gain surprise over the other. Certainly, the procurator would win in a stand-up battle by virtue of its more powerful build. The dilophosaurus is simply too fragile to have a solid chance against a more aggressive and muscular predator. However, if it could surprise the velociraptor, the dilophosaurus might have a chance at securing victory! :)

MemberTyrannosaurus RexNov-13-2015 5:23 AMJP Dilo vs JP Veloci, I'd have to say Velociraptor. It's too fast and powerful for the Dilo to be able to take on. If the Dilo could spit venom in Veloci's face, then Dilo would probably win. Anything short of that though, Dilo's a sitting duck.

MemberAllosaurusNov-13-2015 10:22 AMAn accurate Dilophosaurus would decimate even a pack of real velociraptors. In JP though, most likely the Velociraptor, as it just gigantic.
Good grief.

MemberAllosaurusNov-13-2015 5:39 PMWell in JP the Velociraptor would in since it was bigger and more intelligent as portrayed in the movie.

MemberCompsognathusNov-17-2015 10:24 AMThe raptor wins no doubt, even if it were the real dilphosaurus. The raptors are too muscular and smart against the dilphosaurus, maybe the dilphosaurus would win if it were the size of its realistic counterpart but had its jurassic park characteristics. Other than that, it's the raptor's game. Though, I always like to vote for the underdog in a match, so I'd be on team dilphosaurus all the way!
I do wish a dilphosaurus vs. a raptor scene in the movies. I'd probably make a little short comic of it. :P

MemberTriceratopsNov-22-2015 6:29 AMI think the JP Velociraptor would win. The raptors watch their prey for a bit and then strike. (When they know there is a chance to get the prey with no fence in the way.) The Dilophosaurs might get some stalling time but spitting acid in the Raptor's face but other than that it might just watch the raptor for a minute. Kinda like it did with Nedry.
