I've started a similar topic before the release of Jurassic World, but which team of kids in the JP franchise would survive longest on a dinosaur-inhabited island? (Not Nublar or Sorna) And why do you think so?

Lex & Tim

Eric & Kelly

Zach & Gray

Also, just in general, what skills, weapons, etc. should an ideal group of people have in order to survive longest on an island inhabited by dinosaurs? (I say "longest," assuming that, sooner or later, these people will die unless rescued.)

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Judging on past events, Eric would, with or without Kelly.  8 weeks on a dinosaur-infested island sounds improbable, but that's the storyline, and the improbable does happen.  Eric knows what to do.

Answering this was difficult, not because I couldn't come up with my own answer, that was easy.  It's because no one should ever be in these situations.  They are too scary, too isolating, too much of everything bad.  I don't wish it on anyone.

^I agree.

HOWEVER, Eric survived in a truck, and Kelly wasn't alone, along with Tim and Lex. Zach and Gray lasted a few hours before rescuing themselves with the Jeep. All of them had other people or man-made items to survive.

(Eric would definately survive though.)

I agree with both of you guys.  Eric has proven to have the best survival skills.  It would be an interesting dynamic, though, if there were no man-made items, on an island that no one has been on.  I still think Eric would survive the longest, and let's not discount Kelly with her gymnastic ability ;)  Lex depends on computers, and Nick and Gray are in an age of great technology-dependence, plus they needed the Jeep.  Apart from his juvenile knowledge of dinosaurs, Tim is fresh meat.

I think the ideal team would be Eric and Zach.  Zach is older and could at least have the muscle that the others don't have, and Eric is innovative.  I think in this kind of survival situation you have to have stamina of both mind and body, which I think Eric and Gray both have.

But you're right @AlphaDino65, I wouldn't wish this terrible fate on anyone.

Eric without a doubt.

As for weapons, here we go.

Main weapon: When simply walking and looking for means of survival, a shotgun of sorts. 12 gauge chambered for 3.5" rounds would be ideal, but 3" rounds would get the job done for most applications. I'd say a Remington 870 with a 20" barrel and folding stock. Factory, they have a 4+1 capacity (unless you get a tactical model, then it's 6+1).

Heavy: Your big gun. This SOB needs to be able to kill anything and everything you may run into. Close range, long range, doesn't matter, this weapon needs firepower. Barrett M107, the modern version of every COD players dream gun, the Barrett M82A1 (I want one too, TBH, but not because of COD). The M107 is semi automatic and comes with a 10 round magazine. Add one in the chamber, and you're looking 11 rounds of .50 BMG downrange as fast as you can pull the trigger. Ideally, a scope would be on the rifle (3-12x magnification for these purposes is plenty).

Other: Misc. weapons. A knife, maybe matches, other basic tools for survival.

Jack of all trades. Master of none

I think Eric, Kelly and Gray. Eric has the know-how to survive. Kelly has her gymnastic skills so she could make sneaky plans etc. And Gray knows about dinosaurs and has the energy. I think this would be a great team. I also agree with @AlphaDino65, being on a dinosaur island would be horrible.
