Referencing the exciting new interview with Colin Trevorrow regarding Jurassic World 2, I found another quote of his to be rather interesting. At around 20:45 into the podcast with Jurassic Cast, Trevorrow reveals that both Claire and Owen will be present in the sequels (spoiler - they won't die) but that Claire is the character who will evolve the most throughout the new trilogy. His exact quote is as follows:

"Owen's gonna be in it [Jurassic World 2], Claire will be in it and neither of them are going to be in the same place we left them [at the end of Jurassic World] and I mean, even though Claire is the one that evolves the most over this trilogy, it's her story that mirrors this changing world, Owen has shit to deal with, like the two of them open Pandora's box"

Colin stresses that Jurassic World 2 and Jurassic World 3 will be very different from previous films.

Wait, there is going to be a Jurassic World 3?! Also I think this is very cool and now I can't wait to see it. Although I do wish they would bring some of the cast from Jurassic Park 1 & 2 to Jurassic World 2 or 3. It would be kind of cool.

I hope they'll bring back the original cast members from JP back for the last movie (at least for cameos). If JW3 is the last one, I really want to see Grant, Malcolm and Ellie to appear a very last time too. Far more than Owen and Claire.

I don't understand why everything has to be limited to a trilogy. If they take it into an all new direction, which they will, there's so many possibilities and options to explore.

As for Claire, she was Masrani's #1 person for the park, which means she will be drawin into some sort of board meetings (TLW type of thing), will probably be promoted or given another asignment in corporation's name. I'm sure some mainland dino-testing facility will be involved, and since Owen was the only one able to "train" raptors, he'll probably be blackmailed in order to help them (hence the shit). Clair will evolve from an uptight, career oriented individual, to a superhero kind-of-woman.
