Isla Nublar: A New Era- Chapter 1

I decided to release the story early, but it contains a couple mild spoilers, as will every chapter. :)

     Rexy, the only Tyrannosaurus on Isla Nublar, observes the park below her. She watches as a couple pterosaurs fly over the burning remains of Main Street, where humans are still leaving the island. This island is no longer a theme park to Rexy. It’s been reverted to the kingdom of Rexy, queen of Isla Nublar.

     As a ferry leaves the island, Rey steps down from the building she was standing on. She’s well rested from last night’s battle, but she’s beginning to feel hungry. However, she picks up the scent of a herd. Rexy follows the scent and, after a small journey, reaches an Edmontosaurus herd. However, they run away when they sense Rexy’s arrival. The herd was already about fifty feet away when they sensed the Tyrannosaurus and ran another thirty by the time Rexy began to run after them. As Rexy loses hope on the hunt, she gets a new, familiar scent.

     Following the scent as quietly as possible, Rexy enters a small forest. After about a minute, she pokes her head out of the trees and finds a Gallimimus flock relatively close to the forest. She finds five of them a little bit closer to the forest, and charges. The flock is surprised by the sudden attack and takes a couple seconds to begin running. After a small chase, Rexy lowers her head. Her massive jaws slam shut on one of the five close to the forest. She watches the flock stampede deeper into the park’s Gallimimus Valley before eating her kill.

     Just two days later, Rexy is awoken to the familiar songs of Brachiosaurus, a dinosaur she hasn’t seen in years. As she gets up, the Tyrannosaurus sees a large mixed herd of Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus. Rexy sees the herd near a large hole in a fence that runs along most the entire island. She guesses that the large storm last night caused the hole. As the herd slowly moves south, a pair of Ankylosaurus, along with some Parasaurolophus, exit the park’s restricted area. Slowly, the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World get to know each other.
