Do you think younger Rexy could've given Indominus a much better fight (Minor Spoilers)

MemberBrachiosaurusJun-25-2015 10:27 AMOk, most of us havee seen JW, which means we saw Rexy, it was awesome to see her again, but she was definitely older, had aged, and was much thinner and less muscular, she also was slower (she used to keep up with a Jeep, now she was outrun by a women in high heels)
Now we all remember her in Jurassic Park, she looked like pure power, she looks and probably was a fair amount bigger than I-Rex.
Younger Rexy:
Here is Indominus:
I think she was definitely much faster, stronger, heavier and aggresive, and might've even been able to beat Indominus Rex by herself, this might seem crazy considering how it was in the movie, but remember it was 22 whole years, she definitely was in her prime in JP

MemberAllosaurusJun-25-2015 10:41 AMI agree, JP Rexy could've done more damage to the I. rex

MemberTriceratopsJun-25-2015 12:06 PMBigger how? Certainly not in length, Rexy would have only gotten longer as time passed. Indominus Rex was estimated to reach the size of a (scientifically-accurate) Spinosaurus, and was at least as long as the Spinosaurus in JP3 (and Rexy, if the right measurement was 43 feet for her in JP; I have seen different measurements for her over the past several years).

I agree not on Length (she doesn't seem to have grown alot, maybe 2-3 feet max), but she was definitely bigger in overall mass, and weight. I-Rex is big and slender, Younger Rexy was big and more muscular than I-Rex

MemberAllosaurusJun-25-2015 1:23 PMGood points, I do agree a Rexy in her prime would have been stronger than a Rexy near death. I think most paleontologists say that T. rex lived to a max at about 30 years, and although Rexy is scientifically not a T. rex, I think being 28 would have made her weaker.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-25-2015 3:04 PMI agree with what's been stated previously.
Rexy in her prime probably would have destroyed I-Rex in a more brutal manner than the second half of the fight without the whole "OMG, Rexy's dead" moment before Blue arrives.

MemberCompsognathusJun-25-2015 3:16 PMIf rexy was in her prime she would have destroyed the i-rex, tho i still hate it in the movie when rexy starts kicking i-rexs ass, she roars at it, then like 2-3 claw slaps and shes down? I know shes old and all, but come on!

MemberCompsognathusJun-25-2015 4:16 PMrexy is at least in her late-thirites (and that's being SUPER generous), and with all the evidence we have, that would would make her a very, VERY old tyrannosaur in JW. I personally don't think it is unrealistic for her to have gone down in only 3 hits, especially given how enormous the I-rex's claws were.
But to answer the question of whether or not rexy would've faired better if she were in her prime, almost certainly. I don't know if she would've been able to beat the I-rex without help, but she certainly would've been tanking more hits, and dragging the indominus all over the place.

MemberCompsognathusJun-25-2015 9:42 PMI think the young rex would've been more reckless but faster + more agressive [being able to get more hits but maybe be hurt even more].
If it's true that she was in her prime during Jurassic world, Her prime = experience and strength. So she'd probably be more focused and calm in a fighting situation.
So if we're talking more hits, young rex has this. If we're talking about heavy hits, prime rex takes over. Either way, I don't think it makes much of difference. It would still need help against the I-rex. The I-rex is no push over. That creature kept getting up.

MemberAllosaurusJun-27-2015 12:11 PMMost likely, not saying she would have won but.
As with most animals, when they are younger they are stronger it's the way of life. Rexy most likely however had more experience and was not as reckless as old as she is now, and that is why she most likely won. She knew certain ways to attack even though she had never really fought another big Animal.
And Raptor-401 I do not agree that Rexy was near death no, she looks as if she is 25 and i believe she is 25.
Good grief.

MemberAllosaurusJun-27-2015 12:13 PMAlso, the reason she couldn't keep up with the Jeep is-or atleast in my opinion, is because it has been proven now that Tyrannosaurus could only run 20 mph. Not 32 as in Jurassic Park, and also why would Rexy need to use all her speed to chase a flare? Never did before.
Good grief.

MemberCompsognathusJun-29-2015 7:41 AMPersonally I think it was an artistic mistake to portray her so visually different than in the original Jurassic Park. I don't really care that she is 22 years older. They should have done their damndest to make the new CGI rexy look EXACTLY like the Jurassic Park version. I really think it took something away from her appearance on screen to see her looking so different. I'm sorry, but it did not ADD to the movie in any way to "age" her visually, if thats what you want to call it.

MemberCompsognathusAug-23-2015 2:33 PMI-Rex is bigger and stronger and meaner than T-Rex. That's the whole premise of the movie. Will you T-Rex fanboys pleaaase get over it. Sheesh.

I dont know what your problem is, I just just asking a simple question, which by standards is valid, Rexy was old but if she was younger, yes she could have landed more hits and put up more of a fight if she was younger. We are not fan boys, this is just a simple fact being put down.

MemberCompsognathusAug-24-2015 8:02 PMNo problem. Everyone else is passionate, so I'm passionate. This is all in good fun. I enjoy these postings as much as you do.

MemberAllosaurusAug-26-2015 11:26 AMI don't see how stating that Rexy in her prime warrants us to be Rex fanboys.
Good grief.
