BEGIN!
It’s the end of the dry season. The air is humid, especially by the central lake. This large, one square mile body of water is the perfect place to be in the hot, humid days of the summer months. As swarms of insects stick to the water one clear morning, just as the Sun comes out. It’s a peaceful scene, except all the creatures can feel something in the air.
A herd of Edmontosaurus walks to the water to drink and cool off. The herd is wary, feeling like they’re being watched. One small Edmontosaurus slowly leaves the group, overtaken by curiosity as he sees a pair of eyes through the trees. The yellow circles soon change direction. It’s looking right at the herbivore. A loud hiss gets the herd’s attention. The noise is followed by a stick snapping, making the herbivores tense. Soon, a large head pierces through the forest- a male Carcharodontosaurus.
The creature lets out a loud roar and stares at the herd, which is slowly stepping back. He sees the small, curious Edmontosaurus and snarls. He charges, and approaches the fleeing herd. The small Edmontosaurus feels a large head slam into his side like a battering ram, breaking a couple of the herbivore’s ribs. Stumbling a bit, the Carcharodontosaurus opens his gargantuan head. Slamming them down on his prey’s back, the shark-like teeth slice through the creature’s flesh like a knife through hot butter. However, as the Carcharodontosaurus prepares another attack, another head bursts through the trees at the scene.
A large Tyrannosaurus rams into the Carcharodontosaurus’s shoulder, temporarily disorientating the hunter. As the Carcharodontosaurus prepares to attack, the Tyrannosaurus rams into the Carcharodontosaurus again. However, this time the Carcharodontosaurus slashes the Tyrannosaurus’s snout and attempts to bite his neck. However, the Tyrannosaurus crouches just as the Carcharodontosaurus lunges and bites his adversary’s throat. Shaking his jaws, the Tyrannosaurus begins to crush bone just as the Carcharodontosaurus rakes his attacker’s thigh with his toe claws. The Tyrannosaurus lets go, wincing in pain. Both creatures take a couple steps back and assess the situation.
The Tyrannosaurus watches the Carcharodontosaurus standing knee-deep in the lake, and the creature stares right back at him. The two creatures step back some more, and both prepare to charge. The pair’s moves are in unison now, both imitating the other’s moves. However, as the Carcharodontosaurus takes just two steps forward, a set of crocodile-like jaws burst out of the water and grab the Carcharodontosaurus’s tail, taking him into the air for a fraction of a second before pulling the creature into the depths.
As the Tyrannosaurus, now overtaken by confusion and fear, takes a step out of the water, still watching the Carcharodontosaurus struggle to stay above the waves as the unknown creature bites and rams it. Just as the Carcharodontosaurus manages to swim a few feet towards the shore, a large sail begins to cut through the water like a shark’s fin. After just a few seconds, the sail disappears below the surface. Immediately after, the Carcharodontosaurus is pulled beneath the surface, followed by a burst of blood pops out of the surface…
The Tyrannosaurus watches in fear as the unknown carnivore occasionally surfaces with a chunk of flesh in his jaws. However, the King of the Dinosaurs hears a steady, continuous thumping. After a couple minutes, a large carnivore approaches the lake to drink. Mosquitoes and dragonflies dart in every direction as the large creature bends down and drinks from the lake. The Tyrannosaurus recognizes the creature as a Giganotosaurus, the largest species of carnivore on the island.
As the Giganotosaurus gulps down the lake’s water, he hears something hissing. Looking up, he sees a large, crocodile-like head poking up from the surface, staring at him. The Giganotosaurus rears to his full height and lets out a deafening roar. Neither creature notices the Tyrannosaurus, which is slowly backing off.
Slowly evading the scene, the Tyrannosaurus enters the forest, and stumbles upon the now-deceased Edmontosaurus from earlier. He pulls a chunk of flesh from the carcass and quickly swallows it. As he bends over for another bite, he hears two different roars, both directed at the other. The Tyrannosaurus slowly and warily emerges from the trees, watching as the mysterious aquatic creature emerges from the water, roaring at the Giganotosaurus. As the creature begins to exit the lake, the Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus recognize it as a Spinosaurus.
Hissing, the Spinosaurus rears onto his hind legs. Slapping his long tail against the water, the carnivore attempts to threaten the Giganotosaurus, hoping to get the terrestrial carnivore to leave his aquatic realm. However, the Giganotosaurus refuses to leave, and he slashes the Spinosaurus’s neck. Hissing in pain, the Spinosaurus slashes the Giganotosaurus in the side and bites his neck. The conical teeth of the Spinosaurus, designed for gripping, hold onto the flesh like a paperclip. The Giganotosaurus bellows in frustration, desperately trying to free himself. Finally, he kicks the Spinosaurus’s hind legs, making the creature fall to the ground.
The Spinosaurus tries to take the Giganotosaurus down with him, but this fails. The Giganotosaurus rakes the top of the Spinosaurus’s neck with his toe claws and stomps down on the creature’s head. Critically wounded, the Spinosaurus gets up onto all fours and realizes he most likely won’t survive. Feeling his own blood trickle down his flesh, the Spinosaurus makes one last effort to defeat the Giganotosaurus. He lunges forward and bites onto his adversary’s thigh. As the Giganotosaurus walks backwards, trying to pull the Spinosaurus out of his familiar lake territory, the aquatic creature slashes his shin. However, the Giganotosaurus remembers his recent attack, and realizes how to shake off the persistent creature.
As the Spinosaurus slowly tries to get his teeth deeper into the Giganotosaurus’s leg, the Giganotosaurus kicks the Spinosaurus in the chest. This attack knocks the wind out of the carnivore, and it lets go of his adversary’s thigh. The Spinosaurus stumbles back, wheezing. As he takes in a deep breath, the Giganotosaurus walks over to the creature and bites him in the neck. Shaking his head around, the Giganotosaurus hears a sickening crunch, and the Spinosaurus’s screams are cut off. The aquatic creature begins to choke and falls to the ground, blood leaking out of his mouth.
The Giganotosaurus lets out a roar of victory, and the Tyrannosaurus watches as the Giganotosaurus stands on the beach, panting. The Tyrannosaurus is intimidated by the possibility of having this large carnivore expand his territory to near the King of the Dinosaur’s own. However, a rain drop falls on the carnivore’s head. Then another, and another. It’s just a light sprinkle of rain, until a lightning bolt strikes down on a tall tree. The tree bursts into flames, and sparks rain down on some of the smaller vegetation, which are also lit. Soon, an entire section of the forest is on fire.
Watching the pterosaurs flee from the forest, the Tyrannosaurus realizes that he’s lost his territory. Suddenly, his eyes focus on the Giganotosaurus, which is walking away from the area. Then, he realizes how to get a new territory…
The Giganotosaurus known the fire won’t affect a lot of his territory, as most of it is made up of prairies. However, as he gets about fifty feet from the battle site, he feels a sharp pain in his tail. Wincing, he turns around and sees a Tyrannosaurus biting the end of his tail! Bellowing, he turns around to the absolute maximum, stretching his muscles. As he winces at the aching all over his body, the Giganotosaurus is able to nip at the Tyrannosaurus’s neck. More irritated than injured by the attack, the Tyrannosaurus lets go of the carnivore and steps back. The Giganotosaurus does the same.
The two size each other up as the wildfire blazes behind them. With a wildfire behind them and the possibility of a flash flood in front of them, there’s no escape from this natural arena. They’re almost equal here. The Giganotosaurus is longer and more agile, while the Tyrannosaurus is stronger and bulkier. The Giganotosaurus is more hurt, while the Tyrannosaurus is more exhausted. However, both are equally as deadly as the other.
Roaring, the Tyrannosaurus charges, eager to finish the battle. The Giganotosaurus sees the sudden move and runs out of the way. The Tyrannosaurus takes a few steps into the lake before feeling a sharp pain in his neck. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see the Giganotosaurus biting him. He tries to pull himself free, but the Giganotosaurus keeps a grip on his adversary. As the light rail slowly gets harder, the Tyrannosaurus eventually pulls himself free after a hard struggle. Now, the final battle has begun.
Snarling, the Tyrannosaurus rams into the Giganotosaurus’s chest. Wheezing, the creature steps back before the Tyrannosaurus snaps at his neck, tearing just a scrap of skin off of the Giganotosaurus, which slashes the Tyrannosaurus’s shoulder. The King of the Dinosaurs winces in pain before lunging forward. He grabs onto the Giganotosaurus’s neck, just as the creature takes a step back. The Tyrannosaurus begins to squeeze his jaws. However, the Giganotosaurus begins to kick and slash his attacker, desperately trying to free himself.
Finally, the Tyrannosaurus lets go and rams into the Giganotosaurus’s chest. The Giganotosaurus realizes the chance of death here, and just as the Tyrannosaurus moves in for another attack, the Giganotosaurus sidesteps. He bites onto the Tyrannosaurus’s neck and begins to slice the flesh like a knife cutting cheese. To add onto the attack, he slashes the Tyrannosaurus’s side. Bellowing in excruciating pain, the Tyrannosaurus desperately tries to free himself from his attacker.
The Giganotosaurus eventually tires, and lets go. Before the Tyrannosaurus can fight back, the Giganotosaurus pushes him into the shallows of the lake. Standing in only a foot of water, the Tyrannosaurus grunts in irritation as small fish nip at his feet. With blood dripping into the water, small crocodiles approach the area, waiting for a meal. The Tyrannosaurus steps out of the water, but the Giganotosaurus runs towards the burning forest. As the Tyrannosaurus begins to charge, roaring, the Giganotosaurus summons every last bit of strength in his weakened and injured body to charge. Running at his full speed, the Giganotosaurus rams right into the slower, bulkier, Tyrannosaurus’s chest before he knows what’s happening.
Wheezing, the Tyrannosaurus steps back as he begins to feel the claws of his attacker begin to penetrate his skin. With blood pouring in every direction, the two stare at each other for a fraction of a second as the Giganotosaurus crouches just as the Tyrannosaurus lunges forward. The larger, more agile predator snaps his jaws shut on the Tyrannosaurus’s left arm and tears it off. Roaring in pain, the Tyrannosaurus bites onto the Giganotosaurus’s back and slashes his thigh. However, the Giganotosaurus evades the attack with only minor wounds. Ramming into the Tyrannosaurus, the Giganotosaurus pushes him back into the shallows of the lake. This time, the Giganotosaurus sidesteps the Tyrannosaurus’s lungs and bites onto his neck. However, the Tyrannosaurus gets a hold of his attacker’s tail, and now both creatures are locked in combat.
However, the Giganotosaurus pulls his tail out of the Tyrannosaurus’s jaws with some effort. The attack crushed a couple of the Giganotosaurus’s tail bones, but pulling his tail out managed to knock out a few of the Tyrannosaurus’s teeth. The Giganotosaurus rapidly shakes his head and neck around and opens and closes his jaws repeatedly. Soon, he even begins to slash and kick his attacker’s legs and side. The bellows and screams of the Tyrannosaurus quickly drown out the steady rainfall and crackling of the dying fire. Soon, the Tyrannosaurus lets out one last, earth-shaking roar as the Giganotosaurus throws him to the ground.
The Tyrannosaurus lets out one last, weak, moan before going limp. The rain has stopped, and the Giganotosaurus looks around. He sees the scorched remains of the forest and the carcasses of his fallen adversaries. With a now larger territory, the heavily wounded champion lays down to rest.
Winner: Giganotosaurus!
His agility and quick-thinking helped the Giganotosaurus win the final battle of Dinosaur Death Duels.

Something Real
MemberTyrannosaurus RexMay-18-2015 2:41 PMSCI-FI KING25 - WOW! That was extremely neat! I greatly enjoyed the organic nature of the animals you presented! I must say, I would have been pleased for any of the animals to have won - they are each so extremely awe-inspiring! Thank you so much for taking the time to produce this excellent battle and share it with us! :)

MemberCompsognathusMay-18-2015 4:53 PMI don't know what you are trying to prove. that spino makes me want to throw up.
Something Real
MemberTyrannosaurus RexMay-18-2015 6:09 PMTYRANT KING - I feel that the revision of Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus is extremely compelling! The creature reminds me of a massive water dragon - certainly a true and mighty king! Ever since the new data came to light, Spinosaurus has quickly become one of my top three favorite dinosaurs! If I may ask, what is it about the new physiology that causes you distress? I greatly respect your opinions and would be pleased to hear your thoughts. :)

MemberTyrannosaurus RexMay-20-2015 6:55 PMSR, perhaps it's the fact that it's new. Some people don't like change. I'm one of them. Some people accept things quicker than others though. The new Spino is new and different, but it's kinda cool. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but I'm leaning closer to liking it. That's just me though. Each to their own, that's my two cents, and TK has his own opinion about it. That's that.
