Let's meet our contestants-

Metriacanthosaurus

This medium carnivore lived in England during the Mid Jurassic period. This individual is 6 feet tall, 26 feet long, and 1 ton.

Acrocanthosaurus

This large carnivore lived in the United States during the Early Cretaceous period. This individual is 12 feet tall, 38 feet long, and 4 tons.

BEGIN!

In a large fern prairie, an Ouranosaurus herd peacefully feasts on the plants like large cows. However, every few minutes, they look over to make sure the spinosaurids living in the marsh don’t follow them, as a Suchomimus killed a young one, only to be dragged off under the water by a Spinosaurus looking for an easy meal. However, another predator is lurking through the ferns…

Soon, one Ouranosaurus rears onto its hind legs after it hears rustling in nearby ferns. It sees a small spine rise through the plants as a creature moves towards the herd. The Ouranosaurus sees the creature get closer and closer, and the iguanodont honks in surprise and fear. The carnivore is alarmed by this and takes a step back. However, the Ouranosaurus herd begins to run away, and the predator reveals itself- a Metriacanthosaurus.

The carnivore chases the herbivores, trying to find a slower one. Finally, he sees an old Ouranosaurus and leaps onto it. He bites and slashes the creature before falling to the ground. The Ouranosaurus isn’t heavily wounded, yet it slowed down, now at a walking speed. The Metriacanthosaurus bites onto the herbivore’s leg before pushing it to the ground. Finally, the predator finishes off his prey with a quick bite to the neck. As the Metriacanthosaurus lets out a roar of victory, a louder and much more terrifying roar drowns his out.

The frightened Metriacanthosaurus looks around, not seeing anything. Finally, he looks off to the opposite area of the marsh and sees a large carnivore approaching him! The giant hisses at the smaller predator, making it back off a bit. The Metriacanthosaurus turns to his side, trying to make himself look bigger. However, the larger creature continues to approach the smaller creature. When it arrives, the Metriacanthosaurus sees that the larger creature is twice his size, and also a spined carnivore. The creature is an Acrocanthosaurus.

Roaring at the smaller carnivore, the Acrocanthosaurus tries to steal the kill. However, the Metriacanthosaurus just stands on top of the Ouranosaurus carcass. The Acrocanthosaurus leans towards the Metriacanthosaurus, roaring in his face. However, the smaller carnivore just slashes the Acrocanthosaurus’ face, angering the larger creature. The Metriacanthosaurus slashes the Acrocanthosaurus again, cutting open one of the creature’s nostrils. Blood bursts everywhere, and the Acrocanthosaurus roars in pain. The creature grabs the Metriacanthosaurus with its jaws and tosses it away.

In about half an hour, the Metriacanthosaurus wakes up and watches the Acrocanthosaurus devour a stolen kill. Angered, the carnivore tries to get up. His entire abdomen hurts from being thrown. However, he summons all of the energy in his body to get up and run at the Acrocanthosaurus. The Metriacanthosaurus leaps onto the large carnivore’s thigh and attacks it. The larger creature roars in pain as the smaller animal tears his leg. Finally, he shakes the Metriacanthosaurus off and slashes it with his toe claws. However, before it can do much serious damage, the Metriacanthosaurus rolls over and lies on the ground. Out of energy, the Metriacanthosaurus doesn’t move. The Acrocanthosaurus continues to eat the Ouranosaurus as the smaller carnivore tries to regain his energy.

After a few minutes, the Metriacanthosaurus gets up. He stalks over to the Acrocanthosaurus, but goes behind it. Seeing the legs of the beast, he bites onto an area in between the foot and knee. After a while, the Acrocanthosaurus begins to notice. The larger creature turns around, yet the Metriacanthosaurus remains under the creature. Finally, he bites and slashes a familiar area on a dinosaur’s leg. The Acrocanthosaurus roars in pain as blood bursts out of its leg. After a couple minutes, the Acrocanthosaurus falls to the ground.

The Metriacanthosaurus approaches the creature’s head and leaps on top of it. Letting out a loud roar of victory, he looks over at the dead Ouranosaurus. Looking back at the Acrocanthosaurus carcass, he begins feasting. He has a much larger meal now.

Winner: Metriacanthosaurus!

He used his smaller size to his advantage, but he won primarily because he severed a major artery in the Acrocanthosaurus' leg.

Why not start off the section with a major plot twist? XD

Also, this is the final Dinosaur Death Duels sector I have planned. Four more battles, all leading up to the final battle. However, I will be writing a King of Jurassic Park battle with Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, and the Indominus Rex when Jurassic World comes out. I also have a miniseries planned, kind of like Walking with Dinosaurs but like a novel.

^It was devouring a carcass and didn't feel the bite at first. It didn't notice the creature biting it. When it did move, the Metriacanthosaurus moved with it and stayed by the leg. Thanks BTW. :)
