The mapusaurus pair stood triumphantly over their kill. The male let the female eat first and stood lookout. The male mapu lumbers over to the rustling bushes at the edge of the clearing to investigate. A small, raptor-like creature roughly 26 feet long without the sickle claw stares up at him in surprise. He grabs it in his mouth by the back of the neck and starts to apply pressure, but stops when a squeal comes from behind. He drops the terrified creature, who flees into the forest, and turns around. His mate is being attacked by two more of the newcomers. He charges toward them, bellowing all the way.
The deltadromeus pack alpha watches from the safety of the trees. Once the two brothers, Killer and Crusher, took down the female, he, Delta and the last packmate (a newcomer still training, named Tyro, for beginner), would take down the male. Already the plan was spiralling out of control. The male was coming to help the female. Delta immediately leapt into (actually onto, let's call him Action) action. He clicked a few signals and the last pack member (who had caused a brief diversion) arrived on scene. (Let's call the female mapusaurus Scene)The three deltadromeus made short work of Scene, though Killer was killed and Crusher was crushed. Tyro turned and looked the oncoming mapu, 46 feet and 8 tons of flesh and muscle, straight in the eye. He had no time to react before Action hit him with all the force of a train and sent him crashing 50 feet away, barely in one piece. Miraculously he was still alive-but not for long. He slammed into the ground, scratched and mauled by branches. A great big bruise bloomed on his side where the carcharodontosaurid hit him like a purple ink stain. Some bones were only shards, the tail bone was completely powdered and one rib was shattered and pierced his heart. Delta stared after him and the trail of destruction he had blazed through the forest. Then he glared at the mapusaurus. Fury grew inside him, then exploded.
Action turned to the remaining deltadromeus, but it wasn't there. He looked everywhere and even tried to look underneath himself. Everywhere but up. A screaming, howling banshee struck him in the head and a shrieking whirlwind of teeth, claws and rage nearly slashed him to bits. But he was not to be outdone. Equally enraged about the death of his mate Action lived up to his name. He flung the furious deltadromeus off himself, grabbed it by the tail and slammed it back on the ground. A small snap already signalled the unfortunate ceratosaurian's death, but the mapu didn't stop there. Action stomped on the carcass until it was covered in footprints and talon marks, then ripped off Delta's head. The deltadromeus pack leader's face still wore a crazed expression of enragement, four feet away from its blood-spattered body. The weary mapusaurus lay down to rest. Exhaustion had further opened up a lot of wounds, especially a large gash on his forehead that bled profusely. If he was lucky, he might survive, though luck wasn't with him. A huge spinosaurus, attracted by the smell of blood, burst through the trees.
AND THE WINNER IS…………………………….. MAPUSAURUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a very close fight and mapusaurus just barely (or didn't) made/make it out alive. Strength proved slightly more important than speed this time.
Something Real
