MemberCompsognathusJan-04-2015 4:17 AMi think this topic is BS and this is why
How can you say that shark dont look real. you can still see the moistness on its skin from the water. And the mosasaurus looks quality when it comes out the water. only thing i dont like a bout THAT is its over size.
As for who ever agrees that the cgi isnt as good a s the original CGI must be smoking something. The brachiosaurus looks well dated now! and the cgi in the JW trailer the textures of both the apatosaurus and the gallis already looks beter and its just the trailer.
Dawn of apes used a lot of go motion with the animations matching to humans thats why it looked so good. and even the textures of the fur on the apes was incredibly differetn just from the trailer to its proper release! THE CGI WILL BE FINE!
AS FOR THE ANIMATRONICS the reasons these animals looked so groundbreaking in jp1 is NOT because the cgi is better. its impossible for it to better as tech has moved foreward. it is because you were younger. WHEN you are a child everything is real. I was 6 when this movie came out and when i saw a clip on the news i thought they had discovered dinosaurs. It felt real because CGI had never been used. besides its impossible to creat a mosasaur enclosure with a stadium of people in hawaii on a set OF COURSE IT WILL BE CGI !!! i swear most of the people on here dont think about it. It is incredibly difficult to make a movie as it is yet alone blend in the CGI plates of foreground and back ground and for us to believe this world exists. cut them some slack you have a JP4 movie guys!!!!!!!!
DURP004 i agree with ur comment!
stop moaning about the cgi people and get over it. ANimitronics will be used for close ups only. untill we get a close up. It will be CGI

MemberCompsognathusJan-04-2015 4:28 AMWell said! I agree with everything, people have launched an attack on the CGI far too quick and need to give it a chance, there's still six months until release and those six months will be jam packed with improvements in CGI by ILM.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-04-2015 11:46 AMJHAWKINS1987 - Good heavens! You certainly have a great deal on your mind with regards to the Jurassic World CGI debate! Do not let it bother you so; what you carry in your heart and value is paramount! In the long run, I happen to think that computer wizardy for the upcoming film will be just fine; no need to assume that it is going to be sub-par. Jurassic World is still many months away, and that amount of time will give the teams plenty of leeway to sharpen and clean up whatever images they feel need a little extra TLC! In the long run, I believe Jurassic World is going to look great! :)

You've made some fair points.
The CGI is much better then in the first film, Compared to some of the Raptor shots, And the Brachi in the opening (You could tell it was fake, But still)
Some arguments agaisnt the CGI Have no real base and are just strangers on the internet complaining because thats the only thing are species are really really good at.
Based on the trailer alone, It's flimsy CGI, "But its Unfinished" Here's the problem. Would a Carpenter give you a half made Table... No, because it's not finished. Then why release a trailer with Unfinished CGI? You might please people, but it makes your film, and your company look poor. Why not wait longer and release a much higher quality trailer? Then people would say "Thats some great stuff"
I understand that they're going to release another one closer to the actual release, But they shouldn't wait till then to release a correct trailer without flaws.
I'll admit, It was some VERY impressive CGI... Unlike the other films however, They spent to much time creating the Scene/Background/Buildings etc with CGI, Rather then the actual dinosaurs... (Example being the Monorail looking as real as CG can get, While the Mosasaur was incorrectly shaded to the enviroment.)
As far as it's known, no animatronics appeared in the trailer... They were all CG. With our first Glimpse of a full animatronic being the Promotional picture of Pratt and Blue (The raptor)

It's good CGI, But it wasn't a finished trailer.
Thats the problem with the CGI.

MemberAllosaurusJan-04-2015 1:04 PM^I agree.
I heard somewhere that practical effects and CGI were almost equal in the film, tricking the eye to not really recognize what's real or not.

MemberCompsognathusJan-04-2015 2:27 PM@ Paden, they need to genertae hype somehow. The CGI is NOT finished. As someone who actually has had a hand at CGI modelling and animation, it takes a LOOOOONNNNGGG time to properly render and place CGI models. THis is more like tasting food at a restaurant before ordering the full meal. THey are just giving us an idea of what the story is about and what we can prepare to see. Do you want no idea of the movie that is coming? Or no idea it is happening at all. They can't just keep us in the dark about the film. 'Nuff said.

I've seen some of the work that goes into it, A hand definatley has to be given to the folks who've got the patience for that. Definatley. But again... It could be better then what they've presented. Right now, we're in the "Nostalgia" stage, where, some people are like "I was a kid when that came out... No way, I'd better read the books and watch the movies before it comes out"
Some won't pay attention to the SFX, However, Many critics tear apart films for poor CG. Some of their first judgements coming from the starting trailers.
To your restaurant point, it makes sense... The inital bit might be a little Underwhelming, But the Meal to follow will be Great.
I see the point made there indeed. But why not give them Equal experiences?

MemberCompsognathusJan-05-2015 6:33 PMBecause the Cgi, simply isn't properly rendered. But you also bring up good points.
