MemberAllosaurusNov-30-2014 6:33 PMSo on Friday for my birthday me and my sister went to Universal Studios Hollywood!!
(NOTE: This picture was NOT taken by me.)
It was lots of fun!!! Now I said to you I would describe the rides I went to, mainly the Jurassic Park Water ride!
It was a LOT of fun! So first I am going to give you the basic details of the ride. First of all it's a water ride, so the point of the ride is to soak you in water, with an 85-foot drop at the end! You go into this baby:
So I will now fully describe the ride with the best of memory. (I went on it literally 8 times so this description is pretty accurate.)
First you go into the the line, luckily 7/8 the times I went I only had to wait max 2-10 minutes. (We went on a good day and we figured out shortcuts...) Then you board the boat. 3/4ths of the time I went in the front so I could get soaked. Then the boat moves forward slowly and stops at one point, where you wait a bit so the boat in front of you is far away from you. You then move forward and on the speaker you hear a voice.
"Time. It is an everlasting element." (Don't remember after) "Welcome to... Jurassic Park"
(The whole time the track is made so you are on a river.)
After that the classic JP gates open and the main anthem starts playing. You see 2 realistic brachiasaur robots grazing in the water eating grass. Their "spit" falls onto some of the riders.
Next you go into the stegosaur area. On one side is a smaller stegosaur ontop a small cliff staring at the visitors. The other side is a bigger stegosaur grazing. You then go forward.
Next you see a Parasaurolophus pop out on the left side of the river squirting water out of it's nose at the riders. In fron of it you see a boat crashed into the wall with broken fences...
Boat moves forward and you see the cage of the Velociraptor Paddock. You are able to hear the raptor snarls very cleary. On the loudpseaker workers are calling out an evacuation.
Move forward you see a boat off-track with a Dilophosaurus munching on a raincoat, similar to Nedry's...
You then come to the entrance of a bulding that appears to have very dark interior. Outside it pop out two Dilophosaurs squirting their venom at the visitors... You go inside the bulding. Flashing lights everywhere, your boat goes very steeply upwards in the room. Your boat falls very little.
Then you go through the room. Sparking computers everywhere, when two realistic Velociraptors pop out on both sides jumping onto the boat, one from the side one from the celing. At the same time a T-Rex head pops down from the roof.
You keep going forward. your boat goes a little more up while a lady counts down a 10-second countdown as you come closer to what leads to a drop. At the peak your boat stops, the countdown ends, if you are in the front you can see part of the fall...
A full scale T-Rex jumps out in front of the boat and makes a loud roar... Your boat falls down 85-feet.
You go extremely fast on the way down that your face becomes destorted from the blowing of the wind the closer you are to the front...
You come down back to the river with the water going all over the boat. if you are in the fron chances are your pants get wet and the sides of your shirt get SOAKED depending on where you where sitting.
The ride has ended, and you slowly move forward to leave the boat. Dilophosaurs spit at you while you wait. You then board the Jurassic Park gift shop.
In the end I bought a cool tall JP mug, a high-quality JP lanyard, and a postcard for the water ride. (I was going to buy a shirt there but it was 22 bucks and I had a better JP shirt that costed only 13 dollars.)
Overall it was so much fun! I was also wearing a Jurassic Park t-shirt the whole day so that made it more fun for me. Was going to bring my cap but didn't want to lose it. I am pretty sure the JP ride in Universal Studios Orlando is much more fun but I still had a heck of a time boarding this ride again and again!
For those of you wondering, other rides were a Transformer Rides, which was extremely cool, The Mummy ride which was so short but so much fun, a Despicable Me Ride, which was okay, The Simpsons Ride which was just decent, and that's it for the rides. They took out the Back to the Future Ride WHICH WAS SO MUCH FUN DAMN IT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS OUT OF ALL THE POSSIBLE AREAS YOU COULD HAVE DEMOLISHED YOU TOOK DOWN THE FREAKING BACK TO THE FUTURE RIDE! I MEAN HOW DARE YOU!!?? NOT ALSO THAT BUT YOU REPLACED IT WITH A HIGHLY INFERIOR RIDE WHICH WAS THE SIMPSONS I MEAN WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING!?!?!?
Sorry about that, just had to express my rage, haha... They also had some shows.
Anyways, thanks for reading, please leave a reply, and feel free to ask any questions on this trip to Jurassic Park!!! I will respond as soon as possible.

MemberCompsognathusNov-30-2014 6:59 PMSOUNDS AMAZING...
The last Time I was there, Was years ago... It's not even funny how long ago it is.
With the Re-tooling of the Ride, I'd like to see all the Dinosaur Models Updated, As they've had an Honourable 20+ years of service, and are starting to look pretty cheap.
I don't know if I'd slap on the "JURASSIC WORLD" To the ride... I mean, D-Rex is nice, But JW, Will never beat JP. I can feel it.
*My current interpretation of JW Is it littearlly just follows around Owen throughout the park, And then him and Bryce get seperated from their Vehicle by D-REX, Yadda yadda, Kinda a sad plot to it, There's constant scene Intrusions of the kid outsmarting dinosaurs. Owen and Bryce make it to safety, Credits roll by, People complain, People cheer, it's a merry time.
3 Years down the road another Movie hits, A nicer touch, But many will argue it was poorly executed and didn't match with the book. Three more years will pass and then another final installment will come out, maybe a cameo from characters, and thats it, Unsatisfactory plot.

MemberCompsognathusDec-01-2014 4:47 AMNice, that sounds fun! I have been to Florida twice, though I have never been to Orlando. I always go to Fort Lauderdale during Febuary break, my Cousins own an Apartment right by the beach there (there rich, they own a house in Maryland and a mansion in Delaware).

MemberCompsognathusApr-29-2015 6:55 PMWent there on my birthday last year and it remained the best ride IMO out of all the rides at Universal since 2007. Great in the summertime, too, when it's absolutely hot outside along with the mist fans all around.
