So I just want to mow your opinions about it and a lot of things about what you think about Spinosaurus.
Also lets try to keep this discussion about Spinosaurus and the animals that lived alongside it, that means try to keep Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Allosaurus etc. out of this, this is about Spinosaurus. Spinosaurus is personally my favorite dinosaur. Why? Its simple, everything about it. It was so unique.
Tyrannosaurus, Allosaurus and a lot of other Theropods were unique, but none of those guys really stepped outside the box and none of them really revolutionized and expanded how unique and adaptable dinosaurs really were. Spinosaurus was the largest predatory dinosaurs and was the only quadruped theropod and was also one of the only aquatic non-avian dinosaurs. Not to mention the giant sail, terrifying arms and claws, that large tail, and that crocodile like snout.
Spinosaurus is a perfect example of how an animal under pressure to survive can adapt. And because of this magnificent creatures ability to adapt it lasted for over 15 million years.
So yeah, that's my view on Spinosaurus. As for the documentary I really liked it, there were some things in there that I did not know like the flat feet of Spinosaurus similar to a lot of aquatic birds.
I gotta say though, I feel really bad for Ernst Stromer, first he lost two out of three of his kids, then he lost his fossil collection. And his collection consisited of Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus. And after the bombing of Munich leading to the destruction of his fossils those two large predators were put in the shadow of smaller predators like Tyrannosaurus Rex. And he only got recognized for his work once he was dead. Anyways I know I said to try to keep other theropods out of this but I could not help it.
Its ok if you use other theropods like Tyrannosaurus Rex as size comparisons, but don't get this into an argument, just remember this is about Spinosaurus.
Anyways if you did not see the documentary I know Rexfan said he was going to record it, but don't pressure him for the recording! I'm sure you can find it on YouTube soon also.
Anyways everybody tell me your thoughts on the documentary and Spinosaurus itself, thanks!
