DDD: Fight 8- Nanotyrannus vs. Allosaurus

Nanotyrannus

Nanotyrannus was a medium carnivore that lived in the United States during the Late Cretaceous period. This individual is 6.5 feet tall, 16 feet long, and 1.2 tons.

Allosaurus

Allosaurus was a medium carnivore that lived in the United States, Portugal, and Tanzania during the Late Jurassic period. This individual is 8 feet tall, 30 feet long, and 2 tons.

BEGIN!

     A lone Nanotyrannus is staking through a fern prairie near a forest. He knows he’s in another carnivore’s territory, and he is out to get rid of the competition. He pokes his head above the ferns, and looks around. He sniffs the air, and catches the creature’s scent. He keeps moving in the scent’s direction, until it gets very strong. He looks up, and he sees a large female Allosaurus standing fifty feet away from him. He hides in the ferns and slowly stalks towards her.

     The Allosaurus feels something wrong. She sniffs the air, and picks up a scent of an unfamiliar creature in her territory. The only other creatures besides her are Gallimimus, Dryosaurus, and Triceratops. Before she can do anything about it, she feels a sharp pain in her thigh.

   She roars in pain as the Nanotyrannus’s sharp teeth crunch down on her leg. She attempts to shake herself free, but it doesn’t work. Eventually, the Nanotyrannus pulls her to the ground. It lunges in to finish her off with a bite to the neck, but the Allosaurus rolls over and kicks the Nanotyrannus with her good leg a few times, her toe claws slashing through the tyrannosaur’s flesh. He roars in pain and surprise, and then growls. As the Allosaurus tries to get up, he headbutts her to the ground. The Nanotyrannus bites her neck, but the Allosaurus thrashes around and slashes the Nanotyrannus’s head. Eventually, she lands a good hit on the Nanotyrannus’s left eye.

     The tyrannosaur lets go and roars in pain as blood trickles down his head. The Allosaurus gets up and bites her attacker’s neck. The Nanotyrannus roars in pain, but shakes the Allosaurus off. He tries to escape, but the Allosaurus limps after him. After a short chase, she lunges forward and bites down on the Nanotyrannus’s tail. She pulls on it, and eventually she rips off the tip. This slows the Nanotyrannus down a bit, allowing the Allosaurus to catch up with him. She rams her head into his side a few times, and eventually she is able to use her special move.

     The Allosaurus uses her special “hatchet bite” and slams her jaw onto the Nanotyrannus’s spine. The tyrannosaur roars in pain, and the Allosaurus slashes him a bit. Eventually, she uses her “hatchet bite” a couple of times on the Nanotyrannus’s head and neck, and he soon succumbs to his wounds. He falls to his knees, and starts breathing heavily, and realizes he made a terrible mistake. He looks up, and is at the mercy of the Allosaurus.

     The Allosaurus needs a meal to eat while she recovers from her leg wound, and growls. The Nanotyrannus knows what’s coming, and closes his eyes, accepting death. The Allosaurus bites down onto the Nanotyrannus’s neck, and stomps down on his spine. She shakes him around a bit, and then he goes limp. She stomps down on his head, and then sits down in the ferns. Then, she begins eating her new meal. She has a heavily damaged leg, and she needs to eat a lot so she can recover. Luckily, the Nanotyrannus is only slightly smaller than her, and she should make a full recovery.

Winner: Allosaurus

Size, determination, and mainly longer arms helped her win this round.
