Let's see our contestants:

Dakosaurus

Dakosaurus was a large carnivore that lived in Germany during the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous periods. This individual is 15 feet long and 1.5 tons.

"Godzilla Shark"

The "Godzilla Shark" was a small carnivore that lived in New Mexico, United States during the Devonion Period. This individual is 8 feet long and 1 ton.

BEGIN!

A large, old male Dakosaurus is hunting in his territory. He reaches a school of small fish, and rushes right through it. He’s able to catch seven of them in one swift bite, and swallows his meal. The other fish swim off, but the Dakosaurus is able to catch three more during the chase. After his small meal, he is still hungry, and decides to look for larger fish. He will soon find one, but the hunter will become the hunted…

Not too far off, a female “Godzilla shark” is hunting. She sees the school of small fish rush through the water, and she eats a couple. Then, she uses her keen sense of smell to find the source of the attack. She swims through the clear water, not knowing it’s the territory of a larger creature, one with the possibility of killing her. Eventually, she reaches a large Dakosaurus, larger than her. She swims under him, and rushes up to attack the reptile.

The Dakosaurus feels a sharp pain right in the bottom of his abdomen. He turns around, and sees a large ctenacanth. He bellows at the shark, and lunges forward. The “Godzilla shark” tries to swim away, but the Dakosaurus bites her in the side. He shakes her around, and eventually releases her before swimming off. The stunned and disorientated shark swims off, looking for an easier meal. However, it isn’t long before she is rammed by a powerful force. The Dakosaurus has returned. The ctenacanth turns around and rams into the Dakosaurus’s neck, cutting him with her tooth-covered snout. The Dakosaurus bellows in pain before swimming a bit farther away. The “Godzilla shark” realizes that if she swims off, she’ll just get attacked again. She darts forward to the Dakosaurus, jaws agape. However, before she can attack, the Dakosaurus swims under her, narrowly avoiding the attack. However, then, the Dakosaurus realizes: he needs air.

He can’t take too much time, or else the shark will attack him. Eventually, he darts for the surface, and takes a gulp of air. As he returns to the depths, he feels something biting his tail. He bellows in pain and surprise as the shark tears through his flesh, and attempts to shake the creature off. Eventually, he is able to free his tail from the mouth of the fearsome ctenacanth, and swims off.

After a while, the “Godzilla shark” swims off, thinking that the Dakosaurus has retreated. However, as she goes to the surface to hunt some smaller fish, a larger force clamps its jaws down on the shark and leaps into the air. It’s the Dakosaurus. He tosses the shark through the air, and it eventually smacks on the surface. The disorientated shark, now heavily wounded, attempts to retreat. However, before she can, the Dakosaurus rams into her, before clamping his large jaws down onto her abdomen. He shakes her around, tinting the water red with blood. After a bit, he lets go, before slamming his jaws down on the shark one last time. The force cuts the shark into two pieces, and the Dakosaurus eats most of the shark before swimming off, satisfied with his victory.

Eventually, smaller sharks swarm in to eat the remains of the ctenacanth. A couple follow the wounded Dakosaurus, but they know not to get too close, after seeing what he did to the fearsome “Godzilla shark”. The Dakosaurus will eventually heal from his wounds, none of which are too heavy, but he can’t swim too well from his tail wound. Luckily, there’s plenty of smaller fish, sharks, and pterosaurs near his territory, and now the local sharks know not to go near him.

Winner: Dakosaurus!

The Dakosaurus's size, power, and not being as primitive helped him become the winner of this short battle.
