(I don't know if your using the 1930 Kong or the Jackson Kong) But Kong has an advantage in that he is agile and probably faster then the Rancor, and in the Jackson Kong, he was shown to best 3 V-rexes at once as well.

Kong is a giant gorilla capable of scaling the empire state building in a handful of minutes, and the rancor is a giant bi-pedal lizard with awkward proportions. Kong was probably smarter too, seeing as he's an ape. In strength they are evenly matched, but kong beats the rancor in both speed and intelligence.
