Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusAug-21-2014 4:35 PMInspired by the " Could six utahraptor beat a T.rex" thread, this series is a debate one that pits two dinosaurs against each other, a little different from the usual theropod tearing each other's throat out we see on here ;)
The name shall be "Cretaceous carnage"
...There will be specific guidlines/rules you must follow for this..they are:
1.) this is a debate series, the "it's my opinion" thing won't gel right with it, so those posts will be ignorered and/or reported.
2.) keep it friendly- respect others views as you attempt to refute them!
...and that's it. Pretty simple eh?
I'll be using wikipedia entries, allowing for some debate to be posted about the sizes and other info.
Also, this is going to be a request driven series, have a matchup you would like to discuss? leave it down below!
When does it start, you may be asking?
Right now.
Our first matchup is....
Torvosaurus Gurneyi vs Zhuchengtyrannus Magnus
Torvosaurus
Torvosaurus Gurneyi is a genus of carnivorous megalosaurid that lived approximately 153 to 148 million years ago during the later part of the Jurassic in what is nowColorado and Portugal. T. gurneyi was a large, heavily built, theropod that could grow to a length of about 10 m (32.8 ft). The american species rivals it in size. It was among the largest carnivores of its time, and it was once widely accepted that Specimens referred to Torvosaurus gurneyi were eleven metres long, but later shown to be smaller. Based on bone morphology Torvosaurus is thought to have had short but very powerful arms.
Zhuchengtyrannus Magnus
Zhuchengtyrannus is a genus of tyrannosaur, and the holotype has been estimated to have been 10–12 m (33–39 ft) in length and up to 6 short tons (5.4 t) in weight. The holotype dentary is slightly smaller than that of most specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex and slightly bigger than most of Tarbosaurus Bataar.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.

MemberCompsognathusAug-21-2014 6:04 PMFor the fight, I'd say its 50-50. Z-Rex might have been more powerful but, it's not always about power. Torvosaurus has speed, aglity and more useful arms on its side. While, Z-rex has power, intelligence, and a slightly more powerful bulid.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexAug-21-2014 6:12 PMI'd say Zhucheng 55-45. Both were about the same size, both had about the same bite, and while Torvo would have been faster and more agile, Zhucheng's intelligence and more powerful overall build would most likely give the Zhucheng Tyrant an edge.

MemberCompsognathusAug-21-2014 9:16 PMI would say 50-50 but I don't know much about either on so I'm not that much help. But all I know is carnosaur knows what he's talking about so I don't thinks he's bullying you.
